Though the Hyuga household was full of life and people, Makoto still felt rather lonely. Most of the people there were all business, with the same stoic personalities their clan was practically know for. But Makoto was different. And with the passing of his parents just a few short years ago, he really didn't have much in the way of companion ship. Now that he was a ninja he would have more to do. Go on missions, train, fight the bad guys, save his village. All the normal stuff. He wasn't too keen on the whole teams thing, he wasn't the most social person on the planet. He liked people well enough, he just wasn't really a talker. But boy was he a listener.
He had heard some of the other members of his clan talking about how much he looked like Neji. His uncle who had died in the Fourth Great Shinobi war. An uncle he had never met. Because the two looked alike, everybody always compared him to the this dead guy. So during his academy years, he had kind of held back during class. Only really practicing when he was at home alone. He didn't want people thinking he was a genius like this uncle of his. There was way too much pressure there. So instead, he had analyzed the other students carefully and made sure he was perfectly average. Though in reality he probably would have been at the top of his class in at least a couple of areas.
Makoto went through his morning routine, getting ready like he normally did. Adding in just a single extra step. Tying on his shiny new headband. Though as not to cover up his curse mark, he tied it on more like a hairband. After one last look in the mirror, Makoto headed out. Having already eaten breakfast. It wasn't a terribly long walk to the academy, but he didn't dawdle as he went. Wanting to be there a little early, more out of habit than anything. Though he absolutely didn't want to be late. That would make a rather bad impression on his squad leader.
He made it to the meeting room they had been told about the previous night and saw that he was the first one there. With a small shrug, he took a seat and waited for the rest of his new team to show up. More than ready to begin his life as a ninja.
Haruka didn't need an alarm clock to wake her up in the morning. That was what Tsuki was for. Who very loudly announced that he had to use the bathroom and would use her bed as a toilet if she didn't get up and let him out. So with a reluctant groan, the new Genin rolled out of bed. Literally. She landed on the floor in a heap of girl and blankets. While Tsuki simply sat next to the door waiting. After a momentarily epic battle with her bedding, Haruka was up and ready to start the day. After letting Tsuki do his business she went into the kitchen to get them both some breakfast. Which for her was eggs and toast. And Tsuki ate all the bacon she was suppose to get. That of course ended in Haruka chasing Tsuki around for a good couple of minutes before they both got tired of the game and actually got their day started.
This was a normal morning for Haruka, a routine that her parents had long since gotten used to. The loud chasing was their own alarm clocks. And by the time Haruka came back downstairs ready to get to the academy, her parents were up eating their own breakfast. As Haruka stole a piece of her father's bacon, her mother looked up from the stove. "Haruka darling, that's the purple shirt, not the blue one."
Haruka paused mid chew and sighed. "Thanks mom." She said before returning to her room to put on the correct shirt. Though many people didn't know this, because she didn't care to tell them, Haruka was color blind. Like the dogs her family adored, her entire world was just different shades of gray. She had been born like that, so it wasn't like she missed any specific colors. But just once in her life did she want to see her bright red hair, which was apparently almost blinding in the sunlight. As the students of the academy so often complained.
After changing her shirt and double checking with her parents that it was in fact the right one. Haruka headed off to the academy with Tsuki on her heels. She made it too the academy without incident and found the room she was looking for. When she opened the door, she found that there was already somebody there. Judging from his age, and the fact that he wasn't familiar at all, she was going to assume that he was her Jonin. "Hiya!" She said in a loudish, friendly voice. Tsuki ran on ahead of her to sniff the stranger and all Haruka could do was hope her mutt didn't pee on him.
