If I don't have something up this week, kick me.

@TGM@Sep Starting Monday, if either of you is unable to get a post up by the two-week deadline, I can move you to inactive status since you're still expressing a desire to participate.

@Bork Lazer Glad to know you're still working on a post for this.

I'm still around; just needed a nudge to get me back on task.

Awesome, glad to hear it. Hopefully, the GM post is the nudge needed now that you no longer have to wait to post.
I'm aiming to change how I do the next mini-event so as to eliminate the risk of long wait periods. I don't want people to feel like they can't join in on an event at risk of being held up.

Hey, really excited to hear that you think it looks good and that you're happy that I wanted to deal with the political elements of superheroes. When I saw the timeline, I got really inspired to include mentions of the Wide Awake movement because I thought it'd fit well with the themes I wanted to go for.

While I wait for the 48 hour time period to end, I do want to say that I did PM Redcord right before writing this message to get the ball rolling to see if he's ok with my concept or not. However, I just wanted to inquire if there is a discord server or anything along those lines for this RP, for faster communication? Not a big deal if there isn't, but I know some RPs here do have discords for that reason.

No Discord for this. Experience tells us that Discord servers usually lead to a faster decline in RP interaction because OOCs don't get enough attention. Of course... it seems like people don't want to talk in this OOC anyway, so.

You can always ask to add people individually, though, if you're looking to collaborate quicker.

chiming in to say i'm still here. i've mostly recovered from my illness, but to be honest, i wasn't going to post because i was anticipating the event being moved along—i didn't want to potentially throw a wrench in the plans with an unseen post if you had, say, half the work done on the next GM post with what was already there. maybe an error in communication on my part, but regardless, i'm back on board for the foreseeable future. i should have a post out by the end of the week at the very latest, most likely sometime over the weekend.

Sounds good! Communication here is always better that way I know for sure without assuming. But you're all good. I made sure not to control Vision in any way for the GM post, but I did carry on from your last post to make sure things could be wrapped up sooner.

@Retired

I've been recovering from whatever the hell I caught; for the most part, I should be ready to get into the swing of things by next week (mental creativity for posting willing ofc).

Glad to hear you're making a recovery. I'm sure you saw, but I minorly controlled Quentin to wrap up your participation in the event. When you next post, you should be free to continue on with any solo plans you had.
@Retired Sorry, I thought I posted on here. I am, unfortunately, not going to be pursuing this, though I wish you all the best <3

Thank you for letting me know.

A short GM post progressing the event is up, and wrapping up Mysterio's involvement as Mintz is currently out of commission. The event itself can be conncluded by @AndyC at his purview once the combat between Armadillo and Thing is resolved. He and @udonoodles are free to have the FF and Vision discuss the events or just end the chapter entirely by having the Major Crimes Unit arrive on the scene to handle the cleanup.

Waterside Plaza, Manhattan, NYC

Mortimer Norris watched in disbelief as his heist descended into the worst clusterfuck he'd ever encountered in his criminal career. The big, dumb idiot in the truck had been bad enough, but the hasty intervention of New York's spandex enforcers just fouled the entire operation beyond recovery. They had planned for such things, of course. You don't pull a job in broad daylight on the streets of the Big Apple without expecting a grandstanding cape or two to make themselves known. No, it wasn't the presence of the heroes that royally fucked things up for him and his crew; it was the ridiculously low response time of not one, not two, but six costumed do-gooders.

They had planned the time and place of the heist specifically because it offered them the greatest time between initiating the assault and escaping before the law or the vigilantes could show up. Mort's employer, the Big Man, had even accounted for the fact that the Fantastic Fuckers would be giving a planned interview during the job. Yet, the little shits had arrived in record time, and thanks to the Roxxon-hired freak who had been riding shotgun in the tanker holding Mort and his men up, the Four had managed to send things all to pot.

To make matters worse, when Mort had tried to stealthily access the tanker's hold with a plasma cutter during the height of the melee, some black-haired cape he'd never seen or heard of before lifted the entire damned thing into the sky. And now, the career criminal was staring up at a skyscraper-sized weirdo wearing a fishbowl. As far as Mortimer was concerned, all six of the assholes could suck a big fat one.

To say that Mortimer Norris was having a very bad day would be an understatement.

It was a day he was done with. Turning away from the rapidly dwindling fight, as more and more of his men were taken down, Mortimer attempted to flee the scene. Slowly and quietly as to draw little attention to himself, he began making his way through the maze of vehicles that had been abandoned at the start of the attack. As he reached the sidewalk and began to round the corner of an alley unnoticed, he nearly ran straight into one of his men exiting that same byway.

"The fuck are you doing down here?" Mort demanded, his usually calm and assured demeanor completely shredded by the events of the last few minutes. Now he had a turncoat to deal with. "Whatever, forget it. We're getting out of here."

Mortimer stepped past the man and tapped the rifle he gripped. "Make yourself useful and make sure no one follows, yeah?"

"Goddamned wankers," Mortimer muttered as he entered the alleyway. He made it barely four steps before he felt the heavy butt of an automatic rifle collide with the base of his skull, and the world went dark.

Underneath the illusionary form of the armed criminal Mortimer had run into, the masked man known as Mysterio gave a slight grin.

Mortimer Norris was assuredly having a bad day.

Tagging those who have not yet contacted me. Please let me know via the OOC or PMs on whether you are continuing with the RP or not, and a rough estimate on when your next post will be up.

In the event of Andy, I understand you've been waiting for the event to progress and I'll be typing something up after I post this to help move things forward, without taking agency out of your or udonoodle's hands as the two players currently still involved.

Starting Monday, I'm going to begin enforcing the two-week (14 day) posting requirement more strictly.
I have tomorrow off, and I'm looking to get active and pump out a bunch of stuff for numerous RPGs to give myself a bit of breathing room.

Awesome. I'm looking to get my Spidey in a position to have a small crossover or two after my next couple posts. Maybe Petey and the Frenchman can tango with some Maggia thugs in the future.
Heya! So I'm with @Megsychan and @KaiserElectric and I've interested in dipping my toes into this. I'm not really a superhero kinda gal but I'm interested in trying to get out of my comfort zone.

Was kinda thinking of either Ms Marvel/Kamala Khan or Nadia van Dyne/The Wasp. First option for one of the few characters I've actually read before, and the other because I think their design/powers are super cool!

I'm also interested in drawing em when I find the time.

Hi there.

Carol Danvers is currently played by @TGM, so you may want to reach out to them and discuss any plans and ideas you'd have for Kamala. I think having that link between characters may help when it comes to story writing, as well, and give TGM a good reason to have Carol visit Earth periodically.

But we're always happy to have more people join us here. If you have any questions or want any help when it comes to branching outside your comfort zone with this game, my PMs are always open.

So yeah, if you're still willing to take me, this sheet's ready for review.

Of course. I read through the sheet just now and don't see any issues with it as it stands. I do encourage you to reach out to @Redcord to discuss things. Either way, you'll have to wait for full acceptance until the allotted time period ends. But it looks good, and I'm happy to have a player who will more directly deal with the political fallout that much of the ongoing narrative will create.

And don't worry about the length of the application. You're talking to a guy who years ago made a Spider-Man sheet that was so long it hit the Guild's character limit and broke down every aspect of Peter's life from pre-birth to Spider-bite. It happens to us all at some point.

For everyone else, tomorrow I'm going to be going through all currently accepted players and checking in with who is still intending to be a part of this RP. I know up until now I've been allowing a lot of freedom when it came to posting deadlines to accommodate the winter season, which is usually hectic for most of us. Given as winter is beginning to wind down, hopefully, and the RP has been in business for three months now, I'm going to start cracking down on that. I don't want two months to go by in between posts, and I don't want for what are intended to be minievents to last months. The goal is for this RP to endure and carry on with varying, interesting, fun narratives.

So, if you see this post and want to reach out to me to let me know of your status, that would be great. Otherwise I'll be @ing every currently accepted player after I leave work tomorrow.
Okay, I don't have as long of a workday tomorrow or Thursday, so that's when I'm aiming to get a GM post to move the event along. Apologies to @AndyC specifically for having to wait so long with having his characters tied up in the event that has unfortunately dragged on.

The following week is a vacation for me, which I desperately need, but I'll also carve out some time then to do some maintenance duties and try to encourage some life here. I don't want us to fall into the trap of being too lax, as that's an insidious RP killer.
