The last few days had been strange and a bit claustrophobic. The tall blond haired Norwegian born Russian soldier found his cabin to be cramped. Most likely built for someone several inches shorter. The last few days seemed to drag on and on. Filled with the occasional ration to eat as well as numerous push-ups and crunches. Anything to kill the time that wasn't rereading survival books and information on the plants and animals they were going to be encountering on this trip.

The young boy not even 18 going to a war that has been raging most if not all of his life against an enemy that refuses to break and buckle. The axis powers and Japanese empire stole the show as the world watched Briton burn and the Americas struggle along with U.S.S.R. to keep their heads above water. Australia was doing its best but without a major naval presence it wasn't looking good, soon they would have to retreat to whatever fortified positions they had.

Somehow Victor still had the suspicion that his father got him on this detail. In this Squad 914. A secret attempt to try and turn the tide of war perhaps, or a last hurrah suicide mission before they are forced to kneel before the new king. A strange predicament for sure for the young lad. He was hoping to go to Moscow with his unit only a few weeks ago.

Basic training was quite easy for him to get through, and he showed promise in learning new skills quickly. Still, he felt a bit disappointed as he was pulled aside and given his orders after watching the trucks load up his friends as they went to Moscow and the front lines. He could only hope that this was worth it in the end. At least he still had a lot to learn.

It was somewhat lonely so far in this train. Aside from the muffled voices or snores from the others that the train stopped for he had little to go off of to tell who else came along. He wondered if he would recognize anyone. Doubtful, but there was always the chance. He had spent the better part of the last few hours laying down on the floor with his shirt off. Thinking about what was going to happen next while trying to get an idea of the heat in this tropical place. At least they were given lighter clothing as opposed to their thick winter wear, it was even a lighter shade of green to an almost tan color.

The sudden jerk and scratch of train brakes got Victor up on his feet and quickly putting his uniform back on. The last thing he wanted was for an officer to catch him without his uniform on. the banging on the outside of the train for everyone to get out made him jump a little before sliding his door open and joining the few others on their way outside. All the other people on this train seemed older than he was, they all had that look in their eyes of prior combat or service in some way. The tall young man was suddenly becoming a little nervous, being forced into these social situations always gave him some butterflies in his gut.

The darker train cabin gave way to a nice sunny and a little humid air. But before he could enjoy the sunshine he had misjudged the height of the door way and with a loud 'thud' his head bounced off the top of the door. After wincing and a few laughs from the others Victor made his way to the outskirts of the group while rubbing his now red fore head. “Great first impression Victor” he whispered to himself as he noticed another younger looking girl nearby. She seemed a bit preoccupied with her thoughts to be bothered.

Stepping off the gravel near the train tracks and to the dirt below he took a moment listening for the officer to call out his name. But it never happened, apparently there were a few others that were stronger and better built for the task at hand then he was. No matter, Victor simply continued to examine the new natural landscape around him.

Kneeling down and taking a hand full of dirt he spent a few moments examining the Martian soil. It was a lighter color than what he was used too with hints of red and tan. He spent a moment just letting the soil drop from his hand and blow in the wind before standing and rubbing it between his hands. The blonde was far too busy examining the new land scape and getting adjusted to the sights and smells to pay much attention to anything else.
Hobgoblin Gird
Here there be monsters >>>> A New Brother and Sister /// Day 5 // Morning

Gird continued to watch the vibrations follow along the tightened thick string. This could one day be a good way to communicate in some way with the others or used as a signal alarm for things that came to close. These webs could also be harvested like this strong one that he's playing with and used as a sort of lashing similar to the vines he's been using. The goblin began to wonder if this silk would be stronger than the other materials or if it could very well be used for clothing or other materials.

He was brought back to reality and out of his mind with the screech of the spider. The two goblins didn't seem to have as good as team work as himself and Luz. Their tactics seemed more reaction than planning. The male seemed to take risks and was more so dependent on the female’s ability to react and adapt. All in all a good but risky strategy. The pale goblin was sure that this strategy of theirs could pay off if they had more training and a bit better faith in each other’s and their own skills.

Luz's question slowly snuck into his ear while he watched the duo fight off the spider and shook his head. “Wait and watch, I think spiders would be a good thing to hunt right now anyways.” he stated quietly to her while he continued to stand quietly watching the two finally dispatch their quarry and begin to dismantle it. He did notice the silken strands that seemed to flow from their fingers after they killed the spider.

Gird watched carefully as the two packed up their kill and the female up and approached him without caution or fear. Perhaps she thought she was stronger than him or maybe his aura of death invited her to come closer. “Well hello to you too. How were you so sure we wouldn't kill you after watching you kill the spider?” he paused for a moment as he eyed her over. “No matter. My name is Gird, and I am an apostle to the Goddess Duvelna. She has heard your prayer and with that, a gift.” taking the bracelet off his wrist he tossed it to her, the bones making a quiet jingle as they flew through the air.

The Hobgoblin took a moment to look from her to the male behind her and smiled with a sharp toothy grin. “The goddess has granted me the blessing of the dead, as long as you follow me and worship her you will find yourself growing stronger with each kill. that is if you offer its soul to the goddess of course.” again he looked back to her friend and looked down at the Alpha rabbit horn tied around his waist.

Taking the horn and the vine he tossed it to the male. “Here, you may find better use of this but I may ask for the horn back someday.” again he paused as he looked between the two, “we, as in me and my friend Luz here, have a few rules when it comes to hunting in groups. For one, we share. As long as everyone has an even share, you do not get more or less with whatever position you have.” The hobgoblin paused for a moment as he looked around. “Another is that we trade off on leadership for hunts, with that being said we are currently hunting spiders. So if you would like to stay and come with us your welcome to.”

Gird would take this time to wait for their response and if Luz had anything to say before continuing on their path. These creatures were dangerous, but he did want a few of their venom sacs for an experiment. He wanted to see what their venom did and after that how he could use it to their advantage. But first they would have to get another one or two.

Ardur The Pixie
Mimicry is a sign of flattery >>>> To Valhalla /// day 8 // Morning

Ardur watched from above as his taunt went unanswered, “I guess they can’t hear me” he thought out loud. Keeping his stance as he watched the chaos continue down below a strange thing happened. A wisp that seemed to be low on energy fluttered towards the bonfire and began to shout about humans. This in turn made the other goblins stop and look around. Another lizard spoke up next which again seemingly stunned most of the goblins.

Except one, it would seem that this other goblin that was talking to the flame broiled one before wasn't as surprised by this or at least from his location he didn't see her hesitate. Strange, perhaps another human trapped in a goblins body. This whole area seemed ripe for chaos. Goblins stalking sentient creatures and other creatures drawn in by the noise and blood shed maybe? All good questions but for now Ardur now had a choice.

He could very well stay perched up here out of harm’s way and watch the other humans that in another life he swore to protect and help. Ardur had a duty, a duty to help, to assist. He had to act, what were his old gods to think if he continued to follow his Pixie instincts of care free chaos. The pixie had to do something but what could he do? Ardur had no fighting power all he had been defensive ability's.

Then almost like a light bulb turning on in his head he smiled. His selfless soul churned out a dangerous and reckless idea while he watched the burn victim start to gather a ball of flame in his hands. Ardur figured he could at least distract that one while the other goblins were away from him. And with that thought in mind Ardur cast shield I on himself and began to fly in between the stalactite spires from the ceiling until he was directly over the goblin fire mage.

With a nervous sigh Ardur stopped flying and dropped toward the goblin. Whether it worked or not it was his time to be annoying. The small pixie dropped down right in front of the goblin hoping to both pull down the cane hat he wore into his face and drop down into the fire ball. He could only hope that two things would happen, one being that his shield would hold and two would be for that fire ball to go off engulfing both himself and the goblin.
