Hobgoblin Gird
Another Kill >>>> Talking to the Goddess /// Day 5 // Afternoon

Gird continued to weave bones into the spider silk harness he created. Pausing only to look around for possible danger. He was sure the father they went through the forest the tougher these spiders would become. A variety of useful skills could be acquired this way. But he still felt a little lost, he felt that they could all use a little guidance.

Sitting down on the web with his legs crossed in front of him. The pale hobgoblin held the smaller goblin skull in his hands as he began a prayer of sorts using the skull as a conduit or focal point. Slowly a subtle red glow began to form in the dark eyes of the skull. “Duvelna I pray to you to seek guidance. We seek a worthy opponent or a possible ally.”

His words were followed by a chill that ran from the skull and up his spine ending on the mark on his chest. “Seeking my help already? I suppose the last two spiders is enough of a payment for some information.” Her cold voice washed over his mind almost tugging at his very being. “Hmm you will find a worthy opponent to the west and maybe another follower, if you’re up for the challenge?”

Gird could only nod before speaking again, “I shall inform the others of our next quarry and you will soon have its soul to add to your collection.” For a moment he paused, making sure he didn’t have anything else to say. “I thank you for your incite and wisdom, we will prove our worth and grow strong.” He was still getting used to the whole prayer thing, but he seemed to be getting better at it.

Somehow he felt like she was smiling, “Remember to use the gifts I gave you with my blessing and don’t disappoint me apostle. We both know what happens when you do.” Slowly the cold chill in his mind pulled away and the skulls red eyes began to vanish.

Slowly the pale hobgoblin placed the skull back on his hip and stood. He looked at the others with renewed vigor and smiled. The white bones blended in quite well with his pale skin and made his legs, forearms, back, and chest a bit more protected. He had honestly gotten so caught up in finding Nyma he forgot about the ability’s that came with his blessing. Focusing for a moment Gird began to be able to see the different auras of his friends. A strange feeling he dismissed rather quickly.

Stepping across the web toward the others, “The goddess has spoken to me and given me incite on where we should go. Although I know that you might want to continue to hunt spiders, Duvelna told me of a worthy opponent and a possible ally to the west from here. So that, is where we shall go.” The hob goblin would wait patiently as the others finished up what they were doing before pushing on towards the west and away from the spiders.

@Kheliop whelp you don't have to worry about Gird taking them from you lol. I think it would be kind of funny to see if the trolls rolled them and watch one get devoured because it rolled snake eyes... I wonder if your dice speak to you occasionally.

@Jangel13 so you know, if your ok with how he's making it, gird wants to keep expanding and improving his bone armor for three reasons, 1 he thinks it makes him look intimidating, 2. it provides more protection, and 3. he feels it brings him closer to his goddess.
@Jangel13 thats fair.
@Jangel13 as long as you think you can handle it.
@Haeo@Jangel13 jangel curve ball. It attracts a giant eagle instead lol
Hobgoblin Gird
Contingency plans >>>> Another Kill /// Day 5 // Morning > Afternoon

His vein attempts to try to delay the spiders was beginning to infuriate him. The others had to kill the mother quickly and get out and away from the swarm. But just as the swarm neared the others Gird could only watch as Nyma threw her spear at the spider hoping it would find its mark. Just as she threw it something strange happened. The sound of something rattling and then a deep hearty laugh as the spear found its mark killing the mother spider.

The swarm of spiders seemed to have been able to sense the passing of their mother and scurried away. Then for a moment there was only silence before the others began to relax. Nyma was the first to approach the spider and begin to strap it together with webs. The other two seemed to be catching their breath. “Good job everyone and quick thinking Nyma.” Gird spoke as he stepped up toward them. “Nyma make sure you leave me some of that spider’s venom I would like to… experiment with it later.”

The pale hobgoblin smiled at her and towards the dice, “I am curious as to why the gods pay so much attention to us. Barth, figure out what those dice do then assist Nyma with the spider.” He still felt it a little odd to be giving orders even if they were what he considered small. Luz didn’t look like she was any worse for ware, “good job, rest for a moment and then plan out where we go next.” He would leave them to this knowing that they would make the right decision on where they headed off to next.

He found himself smiling at her again, taking in her form. She looked good with a sword in her hand it felt commanding and a little inspiring. For now Gird had something different in mind as he turned from her and toward the spiders nest. A small cove of white silken threads that was kept surprisingly clean. But the hobgoblin was after something else, something under the silk threads. The spider had built up a small collection of several small piles of bones. Some from what looked like goblins, some from rabbits, and some bones he did not recognize.

He took his time sifting through the piles and pulled out what skulls he could, then piled them just outside the nest. Then he began to pull out the longer and stronger bones from what were once arms and legs, then some smaller bones after that. The one thing gird didn’t like about how he was currently doing things was that he was exposed, he felt exposed and unprotected. Gird remembered his dream from the night before and the hordes of skeletal figures. He remembered some that wore some sort of protective layer like remnants of metal or leather that protected them.

This feeling was something he felt he could remedy with the spider silk. Although he could not control it he knew how strong it could be if woven correctly. The strong strands of web from before was truth enough for him that it could be done. Gird began this process by examining the web around them and how it was spun together. Then tried to mimic the spun webs by using his new skill, he was just glad that his web didn’t stick to him.

If it worked, the hobgoblin would continue to spin silken threads into a more workable and strong fiber before beginning to tie heavy strands around his waist and up across his shoulders and chest. This base structure would be what he would use to secure everything else too. By no means was this a full suit of armor. The smaller bones were just enough to cover some weak spots on his legs and arms with a few bones helping to protect his chest while keeping it visible enough to show off the mark of the goddess.

He was going to try to get some rib bones that he broke into pieces to stick up and over his shoulders in an effort to make himself look bigger and more intimidating. Gird did not think that there would be enough to do the same with the others. At least he now had another goal as he strung a skull to his waist. Get himself a suit of skeletal armor to try to grow closer to the goddess.

@Jangel13 quick question. is there any bones or anything that the spider may have eaten around?
A strange sensation, being able to hear one's heart beat just as loud as a drum in your head. The predatory instincts of a Barabel combined with the muscle memory of Mandalorian training was making his adrenaline spike. He was quite aware of what they were about to do. An unlikely strike team taking on a task meant for others. It was their time to show the rest of the galaxy that they were ready for larger scale engagements like this one.

The black and green armor didn’t move or quiver as if stalking some unseen prey he kept in a crouched position ready to pounce. Until the signal could be sent the Barabel continued to go over what equipment he had and where it was. This combined with slow deep breaths helped to calm his beating heart. Then in an instant the signal was sent and the tarp pulled away.

This one wasn’t all too keen on using jump packs but it didn’t matter. He was the point man, the berserker, the one no one wanted to go one on one with. A Barabel in close quarters combat was both awe-inspiring and fearsome for many that he had fought before. His handy Ryyk blade didn’t help the morale of the enemy either. Gripping his trusty short barrel blaster rifle with one of his large hands the largest member of the team found himself over the wall and behind a planter filled with exotic and colorful flowers.

The flowers and dirt around exploded around him almost immediately. The incoming blaster fire from the surrounding fire fight was definitely intense. Roak continued to move up from cover to cover following the squad leader until eventually taking point. The cold-blooded reptilian was definitely a big target but not an easy one and the last thing you wanted to do was let him get close. One soldier didn’t get the memo.

As the team got close to their entry point, Roak came face to face with an imperial storm trooper. Before the trooper could raise his weapon to fire the Barabel had extended the blade in his left gauntlet and back handed the trooper across the chest. His strength combined with his short sharp blade opened the trooper’s armor up like a tin can and threw the soldier back a few feet. The storm trooper tumbled to the ground. He didn’t get back up.

Roak found himself again taking point, this time taking out his Ryyk blade in his right hand and heavy pistol in the other. It was his favorite combination and fighting style and how he liked to clear buildings. Moving through the kitchens and back rooms knowing full well his brothers were at his back. It was a refreshing experience with them, having complete faith in the others' abilities was always something that relaxed him.

It was a bit awkward at first getting through the smaller doors for him, but he wouldn't voice this. His movement alone would tell the others of this. One of his brothers had been hit already and even seemed a bit jumpy with all the servants moving around. “Remember we are sssupposed to care about the localsss. Blowing off a leg or two doesn’t help usss. Heartsss and mindsss brother, heartsss and mindsss” the reptilian hiss slithered off his tong with some of his words but his voice was kept rather mono tone. Even if he did enjoy killing and fighting he didn’t enjoy torture or needless harm.

The small group continued to make their way through the palace. This one did agree with his brother though. Too many servants that don’t know how to stay down and out of the way. Roak would be the first to bash or push anyone out of the way that didn’t move fast enough as he followed the nav points on his visor toward their shared objective.
Ardur The Pixie
Off to find a Wizard Lizard >>>> Running is always an option /// day 8 // Afternoon

The pixie lost his smile as Ash began to talk. She didn’t have to call him an idiot he knows what he is. Still, her words were brutal and seemed a little depressed. “I didn’t attack them I was just trying to learn from the goblins.” He spoke as she began to turn and walk away. Well, he did attack them but only after seeing an opportunity to possibly blind crispy. He supposed it didn’t matter much. What was done was done and there was no going back but perhaps they didn’t have to fight.

Running wasn’t something he would figure the others would do but it could very well be their only option. There are many dangers here and with what he has seen from the others might not be enough. Intellect and strategy might not be enough to defeat the goblins or make this cave safe for all of them. This is a conversation he would much rather be having with Ash but before he could speak up another lizard in their party had gone off to get some food and was attacked for it.

Three dire rats came at the lizard looking like they were defending one of the goblin bodies. Ardur instinctively took flight and got himself off the ground and too safety before looking back down at them. The goblin corpses were drawing in unwanted attention. The monsters were being drawn towards the smell of blood.

Ardur did take just a moment to check his surroundings before making his next move. It was always a good idea to stop and check your surroundings. From what he could tell there was a few small skirmishes dotted around the cave. Now that the goblins got pushed out it seemed the other monsters were beginning to become bolder by the moment. Another thing caught his eye, something was moving toward them and it wasn’t trying to hide its presence, “That’s a big slime” luckily it was still ways off but didn’t show any intent on slowing.

Turning his attention back to the others and seeing the wisp slowly float to the ground. The situation here didn’t look to good. The small group still seemed a bit tired from what he assumed was fighting the goblins. Seeing an opportunity to strike and try out the focused shield spell the pale pixie swooped back down. Concentrating on the shield spell as he flew low and fast at the dire rat on top of the lizard. If he remembered right, then the dire rats had better senses than the rest of them. With that being known then the rat’s sense should also be quite a bit more sensitive as well.

Focusing on his shield and speed, Ardur attempted to punch the dire rat on the lizard with his shielded hand. He hoped that the force of him hitting the rat’s ear and its sensitive hearing would at the very least disorientate the rat long enough for the lizard to get away. Whether it worked or not Ardur would still advise the others of the large slime. “Come on we can’t fight them there is a huge slime rolling our way, we need to go.”

Hobgoblin Gird
I hope this works >>>> Contingency plans /// Day 5 // Morning

The swarm was quick, faster than he expected but still he kept out of their reach. As expected, the eyesight of the swarm was poor at best. So far his theory on how they sensed prey was still holding true. The others seemed to be implementing their plan rather well. Luz would make a strong and trusted Allie down the line.

The pale goblin found that navigating the webs was rather easy and had only tripped up a few times. His side of things seemed to be going rather well until he heard the mother spider screech. The swarm stopped for a moment and then began heading back towards the mother. It seemed that one of the others was able to stab the mother but her scream was pulling the swarm back to her.

Acting quickly and trying to disorient the swarm, Gird grabbed a two thick strands that the swarm was moving along. With all the might he could muster in one go He attempted to pull the strands up quickly and then thrust them back down as if shaking a rug. He hoped it would send a ripple or a wave down the webs that would throw the swarm or at the very least confuse them for a moment.

If it worked, Gird would attempt to get past them and help the others by trying to grapple onto the mother. If the tactic didn’t work, he would have to resort to crushing a few spiderlings that fell behind to try to get their attention away from the mother. Either way he knew it was risky and could very well get him bite, but he was thinking of getting bite anyways to see what the effects of the venom really is.
