It was not long before the group had taken down the remaining stragglers, but before Mia could finish delivering her order, a tatted corpse nearby ignited. The following burst sent the team flying out the window. While Mia was quick to slow her fall through transformation, subsequently rescuing Cerulean as well, Angel was caught off guard by the blow.

His descent consisted of a fit of twisting and turning, trying to unravel himself from his cluttered feathers. Only midway after his fall did he finally unball himself and unravel his wings. He caught the wind beneath his feathers and halted his drop - though Mia, with Cerulean in tow, was descending much more slowly than she would have if she had not acted on impulse. Bushi managed to handle himself - though one particular body that fell passed him had...

"Robin!"

Angel cried out and dove down for her, sending out his retractable hook like a fishing line for her to grab onto as he descended; he did not latch it directly onto her, as a wrong step could ensnare and possibly rip her flesh falling from this rate. But... she had missed. Robin missed the grab and collided onto the floor beneath. Thankfully she had saved herself in time to prevent a splattering death, but still knocked herself unconscious.

The harpy's dive was not quick enough. He landed mere moments after Robin's fall, before allowing himself to slump to his knees. His wings withered around his body, cloaking him like a ruffled shawl. Not even his famed angel dust could do anything for someone in such a critical condition.

Angel stared at her body with empty eyes, as if traumatized by his companion's near death. He had failed his teammate.

With only himself to blame, the harpy could no longer look at Robin now that the EMTs were handling her, and solemnly made his way back to the Humvee. Without word he leapt up and perched himself atop the vehicle.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PACMAN <3

edit: dammit Kathi we posted same time/same gif lol

Even as the group took to the skies, Trixie remained unresponsive all the while. She muttered and murmured between breaths, begging for her allies' lives to be spared, but nothing else beyond comprehension. As the guilders continued hopping rooftops and making their way further towards the beacon of the tower, with each step the air noticeably began to thicken and thicken - not so much with density as with coloration. A deep purple hue, light and transparent at first, but slowly darkening, obscuring their view. The fog had followed to their heights.

Gaoh's laughter echoed from behind them, his distance indeterminate.

Amy could only watch with incredulous eyes as Xandra and the others took cover within what appeared to be a toy store. She followed as well, not wanting to split from the group any further than they already are. Instead of assisting with the door she kept watch outside the display window, though she quickly stepped away once Lucien approached it as well. It was useless. Not only could any of the three beasts break right in once they caught onto their stowaway, but in traveling in a group like this they definitely left hints of their smell, their very traceable scent at the disposal of their pursuants.

Once the Bearon burst through, Amy could only put up a small barrier before charging off after Dylan and breaking back out of the store. The invisible wall was shattered in seconds, but it provided a solid enough stall for the guilders to flee uninjured. "Hiding will get us killed," the cleric jeered once outside, eyes still on the toy store behind her. But the artist was right; it would hopefully be enough to slow down at least two of the big three as they progressed through the maze. What other choice did they have?

Just then, the region rumbled and roared. Amy clutched onto the wall closest to her. Had they been reached already??

Suddenly she found herself lifting skyward: the very sidewalks beneath their feet were platforms, separated between cracks. While some rose, others lowered, both varying in speed and suddenness, creating dishevelment. The roads beneath the airborne platforms remained flat and in tact, but the rising and sinking obstacles was initially jarring to say the least. Once Amy realized she had been nearly launched, she stood strong - and noticed, beyond the toy store from her height, the giant spider having been caught by one of the panels as well.

"Gods!" she called out as the spider leapt from its position onto another floating platform - only to be sent crashing down to ground level again, out of sight. The cleric hopped onto another panel, slightly lower in altitude, before too being sent dropping back to the ground like the spider. Thankfully the distance was not enough to knock her dizzy, as she quickly regained her footing and pressed forward on the darkened pavement, careful to avoid the miscolored bright panels. In the meantime she prepared a spell for anyone who might have gotten injured in the sudden catastrophe.

Dylan's plan was still their best bet at reaching the tower unharmed, though now they had much more to watch out for.
Have fun, Fox! And thanks for the get-well, Buns! ~A~ Pacman your vids never work for me. |:S
Anyway, it's break time. Writing a post right now!

Fun note: One of my essays is about angry women. I am so tempted to title it "Bitches Be Trippin'," which is as fitting as you can get, but I'm not sure how my TA would respond to that... maybe I should ask her tomorrow...
EDIT: Writing a post now! I'm dropping my minor and quitting one of my jobs tomorrow (well, putting in advanced notice anyway since idk how far in advanced they need to know before I'm out). Mum's egging on me to do both for my own sake, so hopefully the extra time to myself will be worth the sacrifices haha.

Raptor, I hope you don't mind me taking a little bit of liberty with having Crispin 'know' Iona beforehand, but lemme know if you'd prefer otherwise. :)

One other thing I should've highlighted about Crispin before in my CS is that he is rather competitive; he'll naturally try to one-up others. It's always in good nature though, and usually just for fun haha!
Thanks for the good lucks, everyone! ;A; I have to take my puppy to a vet appointment this morning (for shots), then soon as I get back I'll get a post up.

Pacman omg I remember when you got that surgery and... barely anything got fixed. I was so upset with your docs >:c

EDIT: orz... I'm really creatively drained atm and unsatisfied with everything I've written for a post so far. I'll come back to post later tonight during a break from my history essay. :[
Pixieeee <3

Sorry for not posting earlier today. Had a really exhausting weekend and slept in late this morning. Only got back from work two hours ago and have been working on one of three essays that are due soon since. Because it's already almost midnight here, I'll just post in the morning tomorrow. ^^; My post would just consist of Amy mumbling and running along anyway, so I'll just add a small detail on that next round.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

It wasn't long before alarms sounded off in the building. Angel dug a 'finger' into one of his ears, trying to knock out that popped sensation as Pye materialized to iterate the severity of the issue. Once he was freed from being half deaf, another rumble claimed the building, causing the harpy's other ear to pop. "Goddamn it."

Just as he had finished calmly adjusting to the calamity, Air burst in with everyone's uniforms. Angel stretched his neck, cracking some bones and rolling his shoulders. Amidst the three white uniforms (Mia's underlings sans Bushi), one immediately stood out as the siren's, signified by two holes carved along the back for his wings. In no time he dressed down from his suit top, dusting it off before laying it neatly atop the nearest table along with his four-fingered gloves, despite the room's rattling bound to knock it off. He then donned the uniform and necessary accessories along with it, including his powders stuffed in his pockets, and his dual hooks concealed in his sleeves.

"Time for round one, new kid!"

Once they reached the humvee, Angel did as was usual and perched himself in the back of the vehicle, since Mia claimed the top. His position was for the sake of the others' safety; the last time they faced sudden stops and jerks, his wings acted as substitute airbags. At any rate, they soon arrived at the party, and Angel took his time stretching as Mia explained the battle plan and group positions. He saluted her with two claws to his forehead - "Gotcha, Madre." - once she finished her commands.

Team Moon proceeded into the building and reached the 30th floor soon enough. Mia charged in on impulse and was quickly ensnared by the teeth of what appeared to be a body on fire. Angel winced only when Mia retaliated by jamming her weapon into the undead's skull, with Bushi following up and decapitating the one closest to him. Angel sighed with a smile on his face; those two always had such a lovely way of dealing with vermin like this.

Two undeads attempted to pincer the harpy by attacking him on his sides, though he quickly dodged them by brandishing his wings and taking to the ceiling. Once the enemies crossed one another, Angel shot forth his dual hooks from his sleeves directly to them. The metals cleaved right through each of their skulls before tugging tight onto their skin like fish to a lure. At lightning speed, he then used them to launch himself back towards the ground. Upon landing he cleaved through them vertically with his honed claws, then bounced off their halved bodies back into the air.

Though Angel did not swerve through nearly as many baddies as Mia and Bushi, he worked deftly to protect the others from stragglers so they could focus on what was ahead of them without worry. Many times a creeper moved to flank the fronters and middle two supports while their attention was on one or multiple other enemies at once - but Angel was quick to latch onto and instantly reel them to his aerial vantage point, where he would cleave through them before chucking their remains away like litter.

With the way Angel fought grounded enemies like these, the others always knew they had their backs protected. There was however, a goofup after plucking a third creeper from flanking Bushi. As the baddie flung back towards the aerial Angel at a rapid speed, the hook weaved around its neck came loose, sending the undead flying over the harpy's shoulder instead of directly to him. It groaned loudly, attempting to lash at him, though was dodged easily.

Angel chuckled as he watched it fly in after Cerulean. "Whoops. Uhh, new kid! Watch out overhead!" He then returned his attention to another baddie below him, landing directly atop the crawler with his feet before burrowing his claws into him.

Still on her knees, Trixie slumped once Estelle jumped for her sword upon Gaoh making his appearance. Only after Don made his crash did her eyes lift from the ground to see him, before drooping back down. She longed to jump for him, to reach for him and embrace him in the tightest hug imaginable - to do the same for the other three surrounding her, all of whom she regarded as her heroes - but her own nightmare flashing in her head over and over again prevented her from moving an inch. What if their lives were pulled from her own as well? The term 'superhero' no longer safeguarded them from death.

Gaoh stood there, ready with his infamous cannon. Largo was not there to stop him this time. He... he too was...

Trixie hunkered down with her hands clasped around the back of her head. "Please... no more..." she wheezed, her voice hoarse.

Group C

Amy watched the boys interact from a far distance, only for the short-lived reunion to be cut short from the incoming Bearon, with a guest appearance from the giant spider she had faced back in Museo. The cleric grit her teeth, clenching onto her gem brightly. "You have got to be shitting me." It was out of luck the Bearon was taken down with the help of Cole, but with their team drained down to limited numbers already, they were fucked against the beast.

It wasn't enough. Lucien still had it in him to crack a final joke, before the beast that was the mutated Oren emerged to haunt them as well.

Dylan began to lose it. If their current circumstances didn't spell imminent death, Amy would have considered whipping some sense into him. "Get a hold of yourself!" was all she could manage before a deafening roar brought their attention back to the Bearon. The mutated Oren followed up with another roar, lashing out with its tail once again. Amy took a deep breath. "Okay. There's no fuckin' way these things are real. We've got that established. So maybe... maybe if we could..."

The area quaked again. Perhaps Dylan had the right mindset; maybe giving up would get them out of their hell. There was no way they could fight or outrun the fuckers. Amy too could not believe in this nonsense - but she refused to give in. Whoever was doing this to them... giving up was exactly what they wanted, wasn't it? Whatever the option was had to be decided on quick, as it wasn't long before any of the three atrocities lunged after them.

Amy prayed. She prayed that... that they wouldn't get to them. That they had more time to think. That they would find a way out of this in time. "Gods!" she cried out. Slow them down! Chain their feet! Barricade them! Something, anything to keep them away!
Ahaha, fun times ahead! Writing a post atm, shouldn't take too long :)
