Aliquam: Tobias’ Gala - Basement

Amy's brows contorted as Dylan spoke. She may have been a bit too drunk for any proper investigations or exploration, but Dylan's outward hate for this man was beginning to bug even her at this state. While she knew a hefty amount of pigs she could make similar comments about, she never knew Dylan to be that type of person. Yes he had his freak-out moments, but she never thought there'd be another person in the Pride with nearly as much irrational hate towards someone or anyone, as much as she had.

Because of this momentary distraught, the light within her gem flickered a few times to match her dizzying focus, though it brightened steadily again once she caught herself. She coughed. "I'll lead us out of here, then." No longer wanting to wait around any longer, Amy eased her way back to the basement entrance (using the walls as her guide) and led what remained of the Pride out of the room.

With the door of the parlor room upstairs wide open, the screams and shouts going on were easily audible once Amy and co reached the dance floor again. Not that it bugged the cleric. They made their way back towards the tables outlining the bar room, and once Tobias was back in sight Amy stopped walking. She twisted her lips, and held her gem so that both parties were equally visible to one another. But like hell she was going to be the one to speak to him. Or to anyone else, for that matter. She eyed the guests that stood by, too illuminated by her gem, as the spoke to one another in hushed voices and looked back to the Pride warily. From the onset it seemed like none of them were aware of what was going on either.
|D It's a fun duo.

EDIT: I can never work on a post in one sitting around the house. @.@ Sorry for the afk-ness again. Post is halfway done!

As they discussed split-up plans, Amy pulled back her gem-torch to the center of the ground, squinting as she looked at everyone's faces. It really had just occurred to her that the party was indeed over and now was the time to be serious. If only things were less than dizzying. "Hey," she said aloud, cutting someone off mid-sentence. "Where's Marcus?" Everyone else but that mage had joined along the Pride's trek to the generator. He tended to be absent when things like this happen with the rest of the group, funnily enough.

Trixie bounced. "I bet he's already on some bad guy's tail! Man, he makes a way better superhero than me." She watched Syed in all awe and wonder as he managed to tinker the busted machine without getting zapped, much less dying. She always thought that guy was too cool for school. "I wanna explore upstairs!" As she exclaimed this, she hooked her arms around Aria's and Lucien's. "Boss, Sparky! You guys should come with us too!"

Before the illusionist or summoner could protest, Trixie whirled around with the two in tow and out the door they had entered. When the prankster noticed the waitress still standing there, she called out to her - "Go tell the Blue Man that the machine's busted! And we gon' find the busta who did this." - before proceeding back to the dance floor. Surprisingly the prankster managed to weave her way up the stairs without tripping over or tripping everyone else over; thankfully most dancers had moved from the center so it was easy for the Pride to maneuver.

As soon as Trixie made it upstairs, she burst right into the parlor room they had entered much earlier. "All right, this is a stickup!" she cried, pointing her fingers like they were guns. The room was illuminated by the fireplace in the back. Two women there gasped, but most others just eyed the prankster incredulously. To this Trixie eased her cop-like expression and began laughing. "Ahaha, nahhh I'm just playin- no really which one of you suckas did it!?"
Damn Kei, that does sound super lame and nonsensical. Hope the grounding doesn't last too long. :/ Hope your flights and holiday are going smoothly Kathi, and that work remains manageable, Buns & Pacman! And Fox, I hope you're enjoying your summer :)

For once I actually don't have any music worth sharing lol. Cool video though, Pacman!

Just a head's up I might not be able to post on Saturday, though I'll try. I've got friends I haven't seen since high school/Japan roadtripping over California for July, and they're gonna crash my place on the 4th and 5th, and probably again later in the month.

Re: post, I had Trix say/do things to help propel the scene forward with splitting up already, but if any of your characters would object or do something else, feel free to have them free themselves from Trixie's grasp/ignore her orders~
Post is up now! Hope I haven't kept you waiting, Bunsss

Trixie's first instinct was to scream and set her guns ablaze. Who knew after all this time she and Xandra had been right!? No way that was any shortage, not here! This was the work of a criminal mastermind who found out the Wondergirl and her faithful metal-handed sidekick had been sniffing him/her out! But the sheer surprise of it all actually kept the prankster silent. She just stood there, hands to her side with a blank expression. "...I was right?"

In the meantime, Lute had approached the large group in hopes of calming everyone down. With the lights down, he asked if anyone had a light. It took a moment for the word to register in Amy's head, but it did soon enough. "I do, I do, hang on." She dug through the clutch under her armpit (it was always there; it felt too natural to her by now to really be noticeable) and whipped out her gem - "Oops." - only for it to drop to the floor, unharmed. Amy knelt down after it and sloppily scanned the floor with her hands until she felt it. Once her fingers made contact with the jewel, it lit up a brilliant white, acting as a torch in the middle of the dark.

Amy let out a sigh of relief as she slowly rose to her feet, gem in tow. Ohhh gods, her head pounded from the sudden movement. She was still on a drunken high from earlier for that ache to bother her though, and with a giggle she held out her shining gem in the middle of the group.

"Hannah, Hannah dear, please, calm down. It's just a shortage."

"Oh! Oh my gods, oh my gods, I do not want to die tonight!"

"Hannah, Hannah dear, please, as comfortable as your breasts are, could you please not hold me... or touch me... at all... it's very uncomfortable." He felt a very soft hand smush against his face, though he quickly knocked it off with his own hand. If some monster of the dark didn't get them soon, he was sure he'd die of some combination of suffocation and scoliosis first. He waited until Hannah's screaming turned to rapid gasps for breaths before he spoke again. "The generators should kick in any time soon. ... I'm sure Mister Rich has generators of some sort to begin with. Just... stay calm. Oh gods, I cannot breathe."
Go for it, Kei! :D

EDIT: I'll get started on mine in a sec~

Good luck with the grounded business, Kei! D;

EDIT: Back! I'll start working on a post now. Although Kei, if you're able to get online and want to post first, feel free to. I don't mind waiting :)

Even after all the screaming at Dylan, he stood there with a near blank expression on his face. Only after Syed looked back to Amy did the matter artist seem to snap back to reality. "I- I'm sorry, what happened?"

Amy laughed so hard it sounded like a cackle. She couldn't help it. Who knew pigs could be so funny? She continued sipping away at her champagne glass, and with her other hand she made a sharp peace sign by her neck. Almost like some gangster. As soon as she finished her drink - "You try hanging around a punk rat for too long and you become a master in no time!" - she chucked her glass forward again... only it slipped and flipped behind her as a result. A deft waitress who pretty much waited for that to happen caught it and departed.

With the movements of Dalia and her fanboys, as well as both Rose and Lute moments ago, some of the dancers from the middle floor had cleared up a bit. At least, enough to see a particular redhead in a gorgeous white dress stick out. With some nobody wrapping his arms around her (or attempting to, at least). "Hehehe," Amy snickered, wrapping her arms around both Aria and Moira as she nudged in Estelle's direction. "Heeey, woudlja look at that!"

Trixie's sights were still on the nose-blooded boy when Xandra offered to dip marshmallows into something. Trixie cocked her head, drawing a look of perplexity beneath her mask. "Huh?? Dip it in his blood?? Oh Xanny I think you're the..." she turned around to see the metallurgist dipping her sweets into a chocolate fountain. "...criminal mastermind... ... ohhh. Chocolate dip- okay yeah, that sounds a lot better than blood."

Trixie helped herself to dipping the sweet, sweet marshmallows in chocolate as well. The taste was absolutely mesmerizing. She had never eaten the two together before. It was obvious in her face - her smile quivered and tiny tears sparkled in her eyes. It was so brilliantly rich. So rich that her cupcake dropped to the floor while heaven danced on her tastebuds and she didn't even notice.

But then she remembered what Xandra said as soon as she swallowed down everything. While the food was indeed not poisoned... they could be being spied on this very second. Despite Xandra's attempt to rest at a free table, her metallic wrist was yanked by Trixie as she dragged her back to the dance floor. "Sit? Sit!? We cannot sit while there is evil afoot... any minion I mean sidekick of mine should know this... now, lemme see..."

Some dancers seemed as inebriated as Amy and Moira, though they weren't making nearly as much noise. One of the fancier white suits had a cool mini-binoculars-on-a-stick dangling from his pocket, and Trixie was quick to swipe it. With it pressed to her face against her mask, she scanned the entire dance floor for hiding baddies - "Yep, Amy's drunk again all right..." - and stopped as soon as she landed on Estelle's backside. Turned out the duo wounded up right next to their redheaded leader again! She gave her super secret scanny thing to Xandra. "Here, you look for some bad guys too!"

As for the blond masked kid, he didn't seem to mind Estelle's bashfulness and was excited she would be willing to dance. She was the first who'd accepted his request! The poor, poor guy. The next song was a slow one, and he knew well it meant doing that awkward sway thing. So he had his hands on Estelle's waist - though they hovered entirely, which made his poor footing even more awkward. "Oh, geez, I'm... I don't know if I... I, uh... thank you for..."

The little imp cooed behind Estelle. "Oooh... I'm telling Marcus~"

And the boy's eyes widened, even beneath his mask. "M, Marcus? Wait, wait, do you have a boyfriend...!? Oh, oh gods." His hands dropped from Estelle's instantly. With the snatched towel already on the floor, little blood droplets began to dribble down his nostril again "I am so sorry!"

Outside of poker, Angel would have sputtered at Sebastian's brashness. But considering the steed was his most consistent gaming buddy, this was not uncommon for him. Like Marcus, he made sure to keep a straight face the entire time. Even if this was all pre-flop. Whether this was a bluff or not, Angel knew this method was enough to scare off anyone with a relatively poor hand from even trying.

Angel looked back to his cards. Nine of hearts and ten of hearts. If his luck served him well today, he'd win with a straight flush, but - "Well, that's a fold for me." He let his cards flop on the table surface, leaned back, and crossed his arms. Once everyone reacted (with Hannah throwing in everything she had too??), Angel paused briefly before drawing the first three community cards in the center of the table.

Ace of Spades. King of Diamonds. Three of Diamonds.

Angel silently sighed from his nose. No telling what the next two cards could mean for either Hannah or Sebastian; despite the former shoving her cards in Angel's face earlier, he tried to be as ethical as possible and kept his eyes off them. With his fingers lingering on the middle deck, Angel's eyes turned to Sebastian again. "Okay horsie. You still feeling pretty hot?" His smile still as smug as ever, he made eye contact with all the others as well, whether they were still in the game or not, before drawing the next two cards...
Love the art, Fox! And good luck with schooling fees, Kei!
Speaking of Lucy art, I stumbled on this a couple of months ago. Was thinking of saving it for a future cast shot maybe?, but after seeing your commishes, it reminded me too much of that pic of Lucy to not share. xD (Hopefully it loads?)

Eee post is a bit long again ~__~, but I hope it gave everyone in my scenes enough to work with. :)
