The sorting ceremony went on as if nothing had happened. The only indication that it had was the Quinton Jeffreys annoyed glare hitting anyone who dared to speak above a whisper, or be too obvious about it, and especially the younger students being unusually silent after the scolding. Lauren had to hide a smile. She didn't like the minister much and as far as she could see the teaching assistants would not have done any harm. Or the headmistress would have interrupted them much earlier on. But she had only spoken up when the minister seemed to have expected it of her, and all the older students knew she wasn't actually one to punish her students unreasonably. And if she didn't do that to students, then she surely wouldn't to someone who had to teach them and therefore needed to be regarderd with a certain amount of respect. Lauren let her gaze wander over the teaching assistants, wondering whom might be in charge of the different classes Gallanfrey had mentioned at the beginning of the ceremony. She was curious about those new classes as well. It didn't happen often that Hogwarts made changes like that. And after what had happened at the end of the year before, Lauren was actually a little surprised about the change. But then again it was only really a change for the sixth and seventh years, so she guessed the yunger ones still had their routine to follow. Sighing, she reached up to lightly touch the bun she had twisted her hair into, making sure it was still holding up. She preferred wearing her hair open, but it had managed to annoy her quite a lot today, so she had used her wand to pin it up. The method always worked well when she didn't have anything else to use and her wand was always at hand when she needed it. Lauren looked down at the table, wishing she had had the thought to bring a book or something. But she hadn't, so she turned back to watching the hat sorting the newcomers into their houses.

Hello fellow Roleplayers! I'm Rhapsody, or Rhap if you'd like, a 21-year-old college student searching for some good partners with similar interests. I am German, therefore not a native english speaker, but I am majoring in English Studies, so I'm confident in both my grammar and spelling.

I've been RP-ing for roughly six years now and know pretty well what I'm looking for in a partner. Please be:

- above the age of 18 and comfortable with at least the implication of mature scenes (I don't mind fading to black if things get more explicit)
- willing to write a minimum of two well-written paragraphs per post
- capable of proper grammar and spelling
- reasonably literate
- interested in developing the story and making up twists, here and there, with me
- unafraid to point out any mistakes, whether syntactical or with regard to contents (I'd be thankful, actually, since I'm always seeking to improve myself)
- able to post every other day. I know myself, that it just doesn't work sometimes, for whatever reasons, but don't just leave me to wait for a reply if you know you won't make it. Just tell me if you can't, I do not mind it.
- alright with playing a MALE character. I am female, therefore I generally prefer to take that role in RP's as well

That should be gist of it.
I do not expect you to be anything I'm not, I might add.

I should probably add that I do live in Germany as well, meaning I'm in the CET (Central European Time) time zone. It's UTC/GMT+1h. In my experience, that can turn out to be a little tricky when it comes to posting, especially when we're getting on well. But don't despair! I, quite irresponsibly I guess, pull almost-all-nighters all the time, no matter my schedule ^.^

So, to finally get to the point of this thread:

I am very much craving a RP set ing the world of J. K. Rowling's 'Harry Potter'
I prefer to make up my own character's, so I'd like this to be OCxOC. But I do not mind if your character resembles one in the books or is somehow related to one, as long as it is not actually a canon one.
Last but not least I'd like to say, that while I'm a sucker for romance, I value an actual plot, even if it's slow-moving and we loose sight of it from time to time. I don't actually have anything in particular in mind here, I'd love to make something up with you before we start in earnest. And since this is set in Hogwarts, the possibilities are endless :3

If you're interested, please PM me or comment or whatever, I will answer :)
(btw, I also prefer using PM for 1x1 RP's, I find they are easier to keep an eye on)
I googled it xD
Lauren watched the entire scene with more amusement than shock or surprise. In a school full of mostly immature wizards, it wasn't exactly unusual for crazy things to happen, though she had to admit she had never heard about someone entering the Great Hall on the back of a hippogryph. But then again those weren't students quarreling, but teaching assistants, so they might just be on a different level with their possibilities. That also meant though, that there was no real need to worry since they would surely know the limits. And it was quite the entertainment for the first years, Lauren observed as she let her eyes wander a little. They were either really shocked or really fascinated by the whole thing.
Lauren's eyes were caught by something zipping around by the candles hanging in the top half of the hall, illuminating the room. It paused, and she could see it was animated key the girl had been chasing. It's hummingbird wings were flapping so fast you could barely make out more than a shape as it moved on, dipping lower towards the students, dodging hands trying to catch it from time to time as it made its rounds through the hall. Lauren watched. She was still easily fascinated by the incredible things magic could do, especially when she had just gotten back from home. Her siblings being much younger than her, her parents had decided that it was better not to tell them about Lauren being a witch and hogwarts not exactly being a normal school either. So magic was pretty much forbidden at her home, especially in front of the kids, which hadn't mattered until she had turned eighteen three months ago anyway.
In the next second the winged key moved past her, so closely that she felt like the the wing's feathers had actually touched her cheek. She wondered if it could be caught if you tried an 'Aresto Momentum' spell on it. But she wasn't about to try, because you had to be bloody fast if you actually wanted the spell to hit this target, and while she was pretty good at Charms, she wasn't that fast.
Lauren watched as the ceremony proceeded from the her place at the Hufflepuff table, where she'd sat down after the choir had finished its performance at the very beginning of the evening. She let her eyes wander down the table, smiling when she met the eyes of fellow students she recognized, then looked at the front to watch the sorting ceremony, like most others. As usual, the other three houses seemed to be having a bit of a battle going on about the first years that joined them. Hufflepuff was always a little different there. They welcomed anyone, and so far, Lauren had observed that the children that joined them were usually always happy with that choice. The sorting process was a bit of a mystery, but the hat was always right in the end, no matter how the student himself was thinking of the choice at first.
She looked down at the table to grab her drink and took a few sips, her mind wandering off to what her timetable would look like, what classes she'd have this year. The headmaster had mentioned two newly introduced ones. It sounded interesting, but still, she was hoping it not to be too much extra work, since she already had plenty of that as it was. Which reminded her that she still hadn't gotten around to going through her Herbology notes from the end of the year before. Things had gotten pretty crazy at the end and she had forgotten to bring them home with her. She'd have to make sure to do that in the next couple weeks, when classes were only just starting and she would still have enough time for that.
[So, I'm opting for a written description because I just can't find a pic I'm satisfied with ^.^ And I hope it's okay that the Bio and Personality aren't too detailed, I like to have room for them to develop during the RP.
Feel free to tell me if something doesn't fit or sound right ;)]

[I might make a few changes later, should be minor ones, but I'll make sure to point them out if I do]
