On the Old Guild I never had any problems, and on the New Guild, unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to RP, so...

I had one site where I had the GM quit his own RP because he said my characters, basically, weren't responding to their "situation" the way HE thought they should. And another site where I actually had to quite literally "drag" another person's character out of a room because she refused to do more than use dialog... her character just a disembodied talking head floating in a detail-less void. Even though that wasn't what her character literally was. Yeah, I write nice, detailed, "living" posts, and all I got back was one-liners.

Oh, oh... had a story of my own I GMed, a restart of an RP that died due to a very main player leaving the site. Only, the one person I got interested in the RP was... terrible. His first post started with his character getting in a fight, and devolved from there. I can only shudder...
I have my character Honalee, who I started playing at a smidge over one year old, to my mentor character Roughshod (Bem's teacher), who is over 1500 years. And as soon as I can RP the birth of Honalee's brother, Peet, then I'll be RPing a newborn. Of course, it helps that Honalee is Nism (alien critter), and Roughshod is a Fyr Fyr (alien dragon). So, yes, as Brovo said, "it depends on the setting."

Indeed, I play Honalee as an adorably cute little girl, full of apparently boundless energy, who mangles the "English" language quite thoroughly. She's also what I'd term a "learning sponge". Whereas Roughshod, though I've never played him in an RP... well, I see him as being a very "grandfatherly" figure, well past his prime. Very experienced and wise. Not past learning new things, but far more likely to share his experience and wisdom with the young (like he does with Bem). A teacher, rather than a student. So yes, age should have meaning when it comes to how skilled a character is. Learning takes time.
Nice... heh, all my creations have fur (some more than others, some with scales and feathers, as well), so putting in the time and effort to get the look right is worth the effort (even though I can't draw worth beans). It's much like writing, I'd imagine, crafting an "image" with words rather than pencil/ink. The more detailed the "image"... well, yes, it adds to the fun of creation.
Well, I also created a story-verse for a character of mine, in which his homeworld orbits a very close binary pair, the companion star being an artificial construct.
How do you know there are no mice on this forum? I could be a mouse, and you'd never know (heh)...
We eat cheese because if we didn't, the mice would eat it first. And we can't have that, can we?
I have another twist on the binary idea... a Dyson Sphere around the companion star, the whole construct circling the primary of the pair. Huge, huge amount of space, enough to "house" thousands of civilizations at once. If not tens of thousands... or more. Actually created this for an idea of my own, but...

Oops, almost forgot: This Dyson Sphere is habitable both on the inside and the outside surface. Like I said, HUGE huge surface area to play with.

Well if you have a scanner or a drawing app,you can make your own avatar ,like mine, put it on a USB ,and upload it.Or just use your ithing/phone.

That would be nice, but public comps don't have scanners or drawing apps, and I have no ithing or phone (well, I have a TrackPhone) to do anything with. Still, thanks. I really "dislike" not having what I used to have, but hey, at least a roof over my head and food in the fridge (not to mention a paid-off car and gas budget) means I can't really complain. Oh, heh... having a job nowadays is a plus.

Hope I'm able to RP soon. Chomping at the bit simply wears out the bit.

You need to upload it from your computer...

Ahhh... well, since I'm on a public comp (can't afford home internet yet), this means I'm stuck with that ugly unicorn avatar, then. More reason to keep praying I can restart home internet soon. Thanks.
I've tried quite a few times now to upload my own avatar pic, but I can't copy/paste or even write the URL out manually (nothing can be typed in the "box")... what gives?
