“Same old, same old. Another sleepless night and typing away on my laptop but what’s to be expected of me anymore? I practically live on a keyboard.”
Aria nodded with a smirk on her face - if only Marian was aware of how similarly they spent their evenings. For all Marian knew Aria was an active party-goer or a street-racer at nights, once again Marian had never seemed to find it necessary to ask. That wasn't a problem, in fact, it made Aria's life a whole bunch easier. It meant she didn't have to lie as much, Aria didn't enjoy lying, well, not to friends, anyway. The door swung open a second time and she used the table to push herself up to peer at who their new customer was.
“Morning, Aria! Morning, Marian!" Another friendly face, Aria smiled wider that she already was. She enjoyed Allan's company, he was friendly and an overall pleasure to be around. He was also a 'Merry Man' alongside her, so it was good to know whereabouts he was if she needed him. When he asked if he could help himself, she burst into laughter by Marian's reply.
"Yeah, she's right. I'll get you something. What're you fancying this morning good sir?" She mock curtsied as she elevated to her feet and started to proceed towards the kitchen door and press her back against it. Marian offered him a seat at her table, and she nodded. "That's a good idea, go sit with her. It'll make you look less like a loser." She wriggled her eyes playfully. "And it also means that I don't have to navigate between two different tables and have two separate conversations." Her hands went back against the metal kitchen door to help the back of her body push it open. She escaped into the kitchen and looked at more waiters and waitresses starting to appear in the kitchen and she smiled; she'd secretly manipulated their shifts on her boss' computer so that they came in roughly at the time that Marian and co. had entered. One of the main reasons Aria worked the diner was because of the amount of information that she could receive from it. If it involved speaking to Marian or just overhearing conversations, the more co-workers present meant the less work Aria had to do; did the others ever question it? No, of course not. They didn't dare challenge Aria Pendleton, the daughter of the man that ran the most powerful Technology company in the USA. Aria would never actually punish or disagree with them if they did ever confront her, however, she wasn't cruel. It was just better for her if they were too worried to question it.
I'm probably going to boost Pandora's age - seeing as everyone seems to be in their young adult era. I'll bump up to 20 so I don't feel like there's a huge age gap.

EDIT: Bumped up to nineteen.
Sorry if my post was kinda short, a lot had happened with Maddox, Irene, Travis, and Ryland that i tried my best to summarize it all without waffling on about things that people already knew!!
double post.
"If you have weapons you better drop them…"

The shotgun and his instruction were so intimidating he almost convinced her that she had a machine gun and machete on her person. "Don't move.." She wobbled a little at his warning, and was opened her mouth to explain why she was approaching them and that she was harmless - when Ryland did the job for her.
"Stop! Stop…I know her. Travis…"
Shannon had in fact signed in Ryland for her appointments when she had been working the main reception and Ryland's clinic, she'd always sent a friendly and encouraging smile her way when she'd walked up and explained the personal details that were required. They'd never really spoken officially, but Shannon had never really disliked the girl. In fact, she'd actually imagined them both being good friends.
"Are.. are you armed?" She was about to open her mouth and inform her that she was not armed - though now she was thinking that perhaps finding a weapon of some kind was probably a smart move - but she was quickly interrupted by Ryland's stumble and descent to the ground. Her eyes widened and for a moment she thought her feet had become glued to the floor.
"What the hell?! Do something. She was fine a few seconds ago…do something!" Shannon struggled to process what these words for a few moments, the situation with the world and Ryland had dazzled her briefly, and she couldn't control her thoughts until a male who seemed far older than any of the people present pushed ahead and over to the boy and Ryland. Travis. That was his name, Ryland had said it when calming him down. The male said so many things that Shannon could only roughly assume that he was there to help, he started off supportive, then sarcastic, then back to being supportive. She didn't trust the male and she was sure Travis wouldn't either as he was already skeptical of her own loyalty.
"She might need a new tank.. perhaps that was what the doctors had in mind before.. this, happened. I know where we can get some more, if you trust me enough to follow me." Shannon stated calmly, proud at how she'd kept herself cool while explaining her case. "I'm Shannon, by the way. Shannon Callahan." She had a strong Irish accent and it rang out into the small hospital hallway when she introduced herself.
Bang.

The noise that disrupted the rhythmic beeping shook Shannon instantly. She once again held her breath for a few moments and bit hard on her tongue so she wouldn't cry out in pain. That was when she heard whisperings and mutterings in the room next door due to the silence already overwhelming her.

She remembered vaguely the patients in the ward next door - and she had deliberately decided to hide in this one because of that room already being occupied. She remembered now, the girl's name was Ryland. She'd briefly looked at Ryland's file and remembered that the girl had some terminal illness, she couldn't remember off the top of her head what the illness was; but she knew she'd be unable to function without help. She was hoping that Ryland hadn't been the victim of the recieving end of whatever was just fired.

Shannon was torn, she was considering hauling herself to her feet and investigating; maybe the people outside are friendly rather than hostile. God, she hoped that was the case. With a slight wobble and accompanied by a great deal of reluctance Shannon made slow steps across the hospital floor. She wanted to see and know these people before they knew of her, if they were friendly; she'd approach. If they were.. not so friendly then she'd return to her hiding place and wait further. Even thinking about going back to hide made Shannon feel idiotic, so she really prayed that the people now in the corridor outside the hospital rooms were incredibly, delightfully, amazingly friendly.

With a slight creek she cautiously attempted to peer through the crack between the doorhinge and the door itself. She saw a boy, quite good-looking, who looked like he had been torn out of a farmyard storybook. And beside him, quite a frail looking girl, with blonde hair and a look of confusion planted on her face. It wasn't until she saw the oxygen tank that she identified that the girl was in fact Ryland. She stepped through the doorway and into the corridor, standing in plain sight before the two teenagers. However, she noticed another girl aproaching also. A young girl, who looked asian in nationality, and had a bookbag alongside her. She hoped that she wouldn't be shot on sight when they noticed her, but they seemed to have been distracted by the Korean girl's call.

"Hello...?" Shannon felt like laughing, she wasn't nearly confident and self-assured enough to approach with such a simple one-worded introduction. She took a deep breath - which without her control was quite loud anyway.
"I'm uh.. Shannon. I worked here, I'm behind you. Don't.. Don't shoot." For same strange reason she raised her hands like was already being held at gunpoint, she was battling mentally with her nerves; hoping they wouldn't get the best of her. She was hoping these... people would allow her to accompany them. She wasn't sure what use she'd be with nothing on her person, but she knew the hospital layout and quite valuable hideout locations if they needed to stay anywhere to rest up; she was also mildly informed on Ryland's condition

"It's like I don't even exist. It's awesome AND depressing."
Full Name: Pandora Birchwood

Nicknames: Pan, Panda, Dora.

Mutant Alias: Phantom.

Age: Nineteen.

Gender: Female.

Sexuality: Heterosexual.

In Depth Description of Appearance:
Despite her brown hair being unkempt - it always keeps to staying wavy and resting just below her shoulders. Pandora stands at 5'4", being quite short. She also weighs incredibly light, weighing approximately 110lbs. She's fairly slim, with a little bit of muscle from jogging. She has emerald green eyes that seem to express her never-ending and sometimes unfortunate curiosity. She follows the fashion of most teenage girls that spend most of their time alone at home playing video games, but does dress quite similarly to what most girls wear lately. She likes wearing shirts as baggy as the one she's wearing in the picture, and normally wears these with skinny jeans or shorts. It'd be an abnormal occasion to see her wearing skirts or dresses. She always adopts light make-up, nothing too showy.

Personality:
Pandora is a girl that can only be defined as quirky and lively. She enjoys the concept of sarcasm, and speaks in it quite often. Her idea of humor revolves around sarcasm, dark jokes and incredibly cheesy ones. She's usually quite friendly to people if they don't look physically intimidating, but she wouldn't really be defined as "confident". The idea of her mutation excites her and intrigues her, and she's quite eager to learn more. Pandora thrives off of the absurd, enjoying paranormal and abnormal concepts and activities, so her new abilities are absolutely exciting.

She was known by a few of her friends as being quite critical of some people depending on their attitude. This can get the best of her, as she is outspoken though not necessarily to the right people. Her mouth has a mind of its own at times and she ends up wording and saying things completely inappropriately and digging her own grave. She personally doesn't class it as being a bitch, rather that she's just very perceptive to peoples flaws (which the things she points out are normally classed as flaws, and are usually justified). She is normally optimistic, and if she's not it's evident she is via her sarcasm. She's quite loyal to friends, however; and if she has an issue with them it's nothing too major and can be quickly brushed over by a joke in her mind. She shouldn't be labelled with a horrible personality and a lack of loyalty of friends - because she's not at all.

Mutation:
Pandora has the power - similar to Kitty Pryde - of Intangibility. She is able to move through objects and ignore most physical effects in their way, she does this by vibrating her molecules into a new quantum frequency. This allows her to ignore most forms of energy when able to, and pass through objects with little struggle whatsoever. Unlike Kitty Pryde, however, Pandora is able to render herself completely intangible to light; another word for this could be Invisibility. Pandora can as well make herself become invisible - though she cannot perform this while passing through physical objects - and move through areas unseen to the visible eye. However, despite the efficiency and devastating power her mutation could have, there is one flaw. Pandora must hold her breath when rendering herself intangible, and if she exhales she will become tangible once more. The process of what she becomes intangible too is a tricky procedure to explain, but it's more or less a mental process. If she holds her breath with the thought of being invisible - she will become so, though this isn't completely reliable. This power allows her to excel at stealth or distraction-esque roles, being able to escape or navigate buildings quite efficiently.

Fears:
Pandora has an insane fear of the dark, and has the quite stereotypical fear of death. She'd rather avoid it the best she can, and even dreads being afraid of her inevitable death.

History:
Pandora was born in New York, Manhattan; to two individuals who weren't necessarily poor, but weren't incredibly wealthy. She was part of a nuclear family, having two parents and being the only child. Her childhood life was quite ordinary, being raised healthily and normally from birth to roughly 9 years old. She was in fourth grade of Elementary school and herself and her parents had become quite keen on sports. She was in a inter-school swimming competition, and was to be the start of the relay. She had set herself up to dive and had ended up passing through the water entirely and sinking through to the basement below. It took a good hour before her parents and the school could figure out where she'd gone, and when they had discovered Pandora she couldn't tell the difference between the confusion and fear on their faces.

Her parents moved her out of the school and they retreated to somewhere far less well known and rural. They got her back in Education and they insisted that she did what she had done never again. Pandora couldn't understand if it was a threat, a warning, or advice. Even then, she never by purpose did what she had done again - not like she done it purposely the last time. Her paranoia of doing so again made her shy away from large friend groups and theatrical performances. She stayed on a very ordinary path of education and never strayed to do extra-curricular activities. She made friends but not many were kept very close. Most of her time she spent on the Internet, and she started diving into - irony not intended - what her strange ability had been. It wasn't until now that she got a complete answer, her family were approached on a Saturday morning by a bald man who labelled himself as Professor Charles Xavier. He informed her that he had seen the newspaper article of her strange occurrence back when she was nine and had investigated further to prove she was a mutant. Her family and herself agreed that the academy was the best place for her to be.

(Just a note, I'm unsure about whether the personality I've written will be completely truthful to her character - as I normally make their personality up as I go and have a rough idea in my head that I struggle to think of in my head. She isn't meant to be a bitchy character; I'm afraid that's what she's come across as but I didn't know how else to explain it. Just think of her of a quirky teenage girl.)
