Jess woke up later than usual, around 8:12, but it was also summer and she no longer had classes to worry about. However she knew she had to get up and go back to being James, as it was Sophia's birthday and she was expected to be up and present today. She sat up in her bed and reached over to her nightstand for the nail polish remover, and began removing the nail polish from her fingernails. While she was comfortable with having it on in the privacy of her room when no one was downstairs with her, she wasn't sure how the others would react. She gets undressed and changes into her boy clothes, her boy underwear, boy shorts and shirt, and sighs. She is James once again and he heads upstairs to the shower with a set of clean clothes.
As he relaxes in the shower, he begins running the razor over his body and face, making sure to get any stray hairs that grew out overnight. As he washes the hairs down he takes a look at his toes which he left painted a midnight blue. As long as no one pulled his socks and shoes off later, no one would notice. When he got out of the shower, her dried off and left his now shoulder length hair partially damp as he plugged in a straightener. His hair was getting wavy again and even began to curl at the ends. As soon as he finished straightening his hair, he got dressed and pulled his hair back into a ponytail. He knew he still had some time before Sophia and Riley would return, so he went out to the living room and turned on the Tv to watch a recorded episode of Mythbusters.

James decides it's time to get up and begin working on breakfast. He heads out to the kitchen and begins preparing for a large batch of pancakes. His brother and sisters would be back soon and he wanted to have breakfast at least most of the way prepared. When he had the pancake batter ready, he began slicing apples into bite size chunks, bananas into neat little disks. He also cut up some strawberries and pulled the blueberries out of the fridge as well while the griddle heated up. He started pouring plain mix on the griddle just as Sophi, Kylie and Riley pulled into the driveway.
He walked away from the griddle only long enough to give Sophia a hug and say, "Happy Birthday, Sophi. Everyone to the Kitchen so I can talk and cook!" He immediately went back to the griddle and flipped the first batch of twelve pancakes over. He saw Kylie, but didn't exactly want to make her uncomfortable by singling her out. As soon as he was satisfied that they were cooked properly, he scooped them off of the griddle and onto a spare plate. As soon as the griddle was clear he poured the next batch onto the griddle and began spreading the diced apples into the batter. He then heard someone at the front door. "Riley, could you get the door. I'm kinda busy."

James was thoroughly drained of patience at the sight of his sister being escorted out by the police officer after trying suicide by cop IN THE FAMILY DINER! It was taking every single ounce of energy not to call it a day right at that very moment. Though it would appear that the day was turning itself around just minutes after the intense family drama that occurred earlier that day when Melissa finished and handed in her application. When he looked it over, James couldn't deny that she would definitely be useful. Having worked as a barista, she would at least have some idea of what she was getting into by applying to the diner as a waitress. James had sat her down at a table away from the entrance as to get some privacy to do the interview since he was not in the mood to even see his older sister.
The interview had gone well and he asked if she could start today. It was incredibly fortunate that she could and he wrote down an employee number for her to clock in with. After today it would be how she had her hours registered in their system for payroll. He immediately placed her with Mark for her training, and got back to working in the kitchen, especially since their other cook decided to walk off after some sort order revelation in the office with the officer and the flash drive that Riley had. He wasn't sure what Riley or Sophia had said to the others yet, but he had to relax tonight. He had to let Jessica unwind so the stress wouldn't keep building dangerously. He went into the office for a few minutes so he could input Melissa's employee information into their system so she could clock in like the others.
James waited until the end of the school day to shoot a text over to Zoey and Olivia to tell them the situation as he understood it. 'Things have been slow all day. I don't know what exactly happened, but I know Riley ran out of the diner, don't know where he is right now. Kylie did something and she left with Officer Richman shortly after Riley left. You can come here if you want, but I'll be heading home around five. Either way I'll see you later.' Putting his phone back in his pocket, he got back to working. He was tired of everything going on today, and wanted nothing more than to relax. Jess would love to get out at some point. Maybe she'd do her nails for the night, clean them off in the morning. At that point, Melissa came to the window and handed him an order slip.

God dammit Kylie. Did I not just get done saying to stay safe? I had to lie back down (I wasn't even out of bed yet), close my eyes and waited at least ten to fifteen minutes before rereading those two posts. Jerry is a fucking Saint to have not flat out arrested her. @Themerlinhawk@Viciousmarrow I have a feeling you two might have a Collab coming up with the two of you leaving. If that is the case, I'd like to jump in real quick, if not I can work around it.
