Izushima Ashari

The fox thought himself going unnoticed and yet the queen unexpectedly noticed his presence. Impressed and curios of how and when exactly had she sensed him. Since before even entering the castle or upon entering the throne room? Questions went through his mind one after the other; some concerning the job detailed to them. The explanation was simple enough, but also made this whole gathering even more peculiar. There were much to think about regarding the queen's words and the job though one thing was for certain, this mission would prove even more entertaining.

It nearly had the fox visibly giddy with excitement as he took the piece of paper showcasing the number one. His ears soon pricked to an obnoxious voice calling out for other number ones to gather around said person. He glanced over at the man speaking, Nikolai before giving a roll of his eyes under the mask. Hardly surprising meatheads like monster hunters would use what little braincells they had to question any of this and just accepting it all at face value. He could bring it up by asking the queen some questions, but why spoil whatever surprise was in store for them.

With a wispy inward chuckle, Izushima strode over to stand at the back behind the group, the billowing of his pant sleeves giving the appearance he was gliding across the floor as he went. Once settled his hands slipped into the other arm's sleeves as the masked fox quietly observed for the time being, a hidden smirk etched beneath.

Unlike the previous carriage ride this one had been quiet and uneventful to Asteroth’s relief. Whether it had to do with Kazumin not wishing to push his luck and worsen his already dour situation or the more likely reason that he was just tired and the exhaustion finally caught up to him.

Evident with the way he sat there with his head tilted back trying to get what sleep he could. Physically he seemed fine thanks to the nice clothes and make-up, but beneath the surface his body was still sore and ached with hunger and exhaustion. Precisely while the Baron sought to bring preparation.

A sharp kick to his foot to jostle the slumbering blonde who woke with a start.” Hm..wuh? Are we there yet?” Mumbling the question with a vain attempt to rub the sleep from his eyes.

A brief shake of the head was Asteroth’s first response. “Not quite. We shall be arriving shortly and I intend to remind you to be on your absolute behavior.” He stated the reminder coolly before reaching beneath his shirt where he procured and tossed the small bag he pocketed earlier onto Kazumin’s lap. “Take a small dose of that before we arrive.”

Kazu blinked in confusion and uncertainty as he casually picked up the bag and held it up to see the contents to be what looked to be white powder. “ What’s this? Some slow acting poison or something? This your way of murrrdering me with witness?” He joked elongating the word murder in a tired voice.

A sharp inhale followed with a slow exhaling sigh. “No, you simpleton. Just take a small hit. Do it now.” A waving motion of his hand for him to get on with it. “Worry not, simply medicine to help keep you awake, at least for the duration of this brunch.” Saying nothing more on the matter nor elaborating on what exactly the powder was.

The drowsy blonde peered at him accusingly for a moment then gave an indifferent shrug of the shoulders. “Fine, whatever gets me through this bore of an evening. And if the count chose to be stingy on the food I will complain, you can be sure of that.” And he meant it considering this to be his last chance at an actual good meal most likely.

“Um..how do I take it?” He inquired with a raised brow.

An indignant sigh from the Baron. “Just pour a smidgen on the back of your hand and..I suppose in a somewhat crude way of putting it..snort it.”

He eyed the man with a queer gaze but once more shrugged his shoudlers. “Odd way of taking medicine but okey dokey boss man!” A mock salute given as he did as explained.

“Just a smidgen! I remind you.” He burst out suddenly.

An outburst that nearly made him jump and drop the bag. “Jeeze, alright! No need to get your britches all twisted, old man.” Grumbling his annoyance as he carefully poured a tiny amount onto the back of his hand.

Just as the carriage rolled to a stop did he snort it. Next thing Kazu knew he felt like he just got kicked by a horse and with it an intense burst of energy that crashed through his body washing away the fatigue and aches in an instant as he was on his feet having not even noticed when he jumped up. “Whoo! Fuck I feel good!” He exclaimed; unsure of how to explain it but he suddenly felt like he could jog all around the kingdom…twice.

“We’re here! Come on, let's go go go. Can’t keep old Calby waiting!” Kazu spoke in an almost hyper manner while bouncing on his feet now feeling both eager and anxious for this brunch.

Without giving Asteroth a chance to respond, the drugged up Kazumin bounded out of the carriage.

Up in the rafters above the throne room, a single tiny red blaze shone within the darkness. A small flash of red illuminating an intricately designed fox mask; a faint inhale followed by an equally faint and slow exhale sending whispy smoke to exude and puff around the mysterious individual's head. Sitting in a crouched position, nearly two hour's past since having stealthily snuck his way inside.

The job itself held little interest to the lone fox. No, curiosity and intrigue were what had drawn him to this throne room this day. For it was not often for one of the royal family to put together such a job that requested so many hunters.

Everything about this seemed sketchy and likely had some underhanded motive beneath this whole situation that was certain to lead to trouble. And that is exactly what Izushima was hoping for. The mere idea of whatever deception the queen or some other unseen party might have excited him far more than the job in question. Especially when it led to a group of hunters, whom each viewed themselves as the best or strongest.

Hardly a minute passed by since the group were brought in and like clockwork, the majority of them started sizing up and bickering. Of all the groups he has seen on his travels, none amused him more so than monster hunters and their never-ending need to showboat their swagger. As is typical, most of the hunters viewed this a competition; a battle of ego and pride and this group certainly stunk of ego. He couldn't help but hope that the queen had enough sense to know that these hunters could never work as a proper team. Knowing this only made this whole gathering even more peculiar. But, while this job would be viewed as a conquest to compete over, to Izu this was all a game, one he neither cared to win or lose, just to play and have his fun.

And fun he will have, he mused with a deviously playful Cheshire smile hidden beneath his mask.

Silently observing the group with a puff from his pipe here and there, taking in the interactions of the group with their egotistical dick measuring contest. A typical eyerolling display that always followed this sort of people and yet it always brought a giggle to his lips. At least one amongst the prideful rabble seemed to share such thoughts and said person was the smallest of the bunch which only added to his amusement. This job was sure to give him plenty of entertainment.

With one last deep inhale from his pipe, the robed fox chose to hop down, his body falling fast at first though shortly before landing two trails of smoke drifted beneath his shoeless feet. A gentle and graceful landing followed with nary a sound save for the quiet fluttering of his haori sleeves and soft thump of bamboo flute strapped to his waist.

The masked individual stood quietly his right-hand lifted holding an elegantly crafted smoke pipe though its length was half size longer than usual.

" Forgive the intrusion. It seems I have taken a wrong turn in Alburquerque but since I'm here I might as well participate in this gathering... " Tilting his head to the left as he peered over the hunters before turning to the queen shifting his head to tilt to the right as he did so." That is if it is fine with you, your majesty... or was it perhaps highness? Royals with their titles and honorifics have always been... perplexing to me." He finished with a muffled giggled, his voice gentle and soft as silk soothing to the ears albeit muffled by the mask and carried with a hint of a devious nature.

He was uncertain how she would take being given the honor of having him traveling with her though had not expected her to break out into a fit of laughter. After watching her do so for a bit he came to the conclusion that such a privileged opportunity to travel with a person of celebrity status such as he proved overwhelming to the point of laughing out of disbelief. Having come to this conclusion, he chose to let her get it out of her system." Now if you're quite finished, we can get on our way." Said with a little airy sigh of annoyance wanting Faye to get on with what she intended to do; King gave a pat of his talon showing he wanted to get moving too though Princess shook her head and gave the side of Tristan's head a small smack." Rio!" She yipped with a small disapproving look." Hey! Watch the hair and no more hitting." He muttered out in a hushed tone.

Barely catching what Faye was saying at first until he heard mention of the name Basil which called his attention back to her to hear mention about an egg followed by talk of some forest. At first disliking the thought of traversing through some unknown forest where a number of awful things could happen like getting lost or worse, having his clothes ripped by the foliage or getting dirty again but talks of possible rare fairy types had him intrigued. Among pokemon typing, faires definitely had Tristan's attention as they tended to involve grace and beauty and felt such a touch was missing in his team. (mind he meant no slight or insult to his current pokemon of course)

The mention of Basil, however, had him curiously raising a brow.* Basil? Surely it can't be that Basil. No, it certainly can't be." Internally scoffing to himself in amusement at the mere thought.

How she came to acquire a pokemon egg already was also a curiosity though he preferred to not waste time chit-chatting on such topics at the moment, especially if they intended to be done getting through the forest before nightfall." Very well. Let us be off then." A roll of his hands motioning to head off; waiting for her to take the lead for the time being as he followed a short distance from behind.

The trek proved a short one thankfully, but slow nonetheless which allowed Tristan the time to check his social media accounts. The trip would be spent telling his followers of his journey as a trainer so far (albeit omitting the horrendous lost against Freya) and taking pics of his mons. The shiny Murkrow proved to be the only one to enjoy taking pics making the teen proud while Ace was frightened by the flash and hid against his neck, Princess merely rubbed at her eyes with a complaining murr.

As Tristan observed his followers reactions with hopes of getting more, he failed to notice that they had arrived at the daycare. Only just now taking notice of the egg Faye had pulled out to be inspected while whatever she had just said went unnoticed by the teen." I do hope this won't take too long. And a good salutation to you, good sir!" He hummed out before going back to perusing his phonedex.
D'angelo Schultz

A singular golden cloud somewhat larger than a full grown adult hovered and flew through the town of Rembrandt at a height just above the roof of most buildings. And lying sprawled out out on that cloud was a chubby ninteeen year old with a mixed expression of boredom and exasperation." Uuugh that took forever! Those guards and their inspections... I swear it felt like it took all day." He complained when in reality it had only taken twenty minutes, but D'angelo was never one for remaining in one place for long, especially if said reason for so was a guard's inspection. The young man understood they were just doing their job and any unknown mages were those they had to keep an eye on especially." Can you believe how rude they were? Telling me not to flash my camera in their face and to stop floating about and the endless questions! I thought it was supposed to be an inspection not some pop quiz!" Throwing his arms skyward in an exaggerated annoyed manner, the strap of the camera held in his right-hand flapping about with the screen showing a pic of the chubby male hugging the two guards mentioned against his sides. The look of confusion and annoyance on each of their faces a clear indication this picture was taken through forced means.

Now that the gate was behind him, D'angelo was free to explore the town with a fair number of warnings to not go using his magic haphazardly or harm any civilians which he made sure to make note of with a carry-on motion of the hand and roll of the eyes.

He soon sat up with a yawn and stretch of his arms." Hngh! The authority really loves to hear themselves speak with all their rules and guidelines." Giving a quick scroll through some of the pics on his camera where he saw some of the scenery images and pics of people waving at him as he flew by or at least he thought so while the angry expressions seemed to say otherwise. With a grunt he shifted to lying on his stomach across the golden cloud." I swear, Nimbus, I'm starting to think the people on this region don't see mages often with how jumpy and suspicious most of them have been." As not a single place he has thus visited since entering the region where he wasn't questioned or watched closely and not the kind of attention a traveling entertainer like him hoped for.

Rocking his head against his left palm propped up by the elbow watching the buildings zoom by below." Y ou sure this is the town with the uh... what was it again." Tilting his head in pondering fashion his gaze peeking up at the sky as if expecting to receive an answer from the vast blue space and slow drifting clouds." Guild! Ah-hah I knew I'd get it." The chubby male laughed to himself as the golden cloud shifted and rumbled beneath him as if letting out a groaning sigh; an act that earned the cloud two nudging poke from its creator." Hey, don't you give me an attitude. Blame those guards and their incessant questioning making me forget what we came here for..." Trailing off with his finger still pressing into the cloud as he went cross-eyed for a moment." That is why we came here yeah?"

Nimbus gave a small rumbling in response to D'angelo's question." W-what? O-of course I know what we came to this town for I was just uh...making sure you remembered." Said with an awkward chuckle while averting his gaze to the upside-down camera still held in his hand.

A few seconds of awkward silence before D'angelo pushed himself back upright where he then leaned back towards the cloud trailer hitched to the back-end of Nimbus to stash the camera away for the time being." Ahem! Anyway, I heard mention by the guards this guild is having some kind of special event. Isn't that exciting?! I hope it's an ice cream party or I guess just a normal party is good too." Muttering his thoughts allowed while rubbing at his chin with arms folded across his chest." Whatever it is, we got to hurry up or we're gonna miss it! Let's go and get our partay ooooooooooooon-!" He exclaimed as Nimbus suddenly shifted into higher gear causing D'angelo to scream with his pudgy cheeks and mouth flapping wildly from the sudden rush of wind, tears flying from his eyes as he let loose a loud cheer shortly after.

Uncertain of how long they had dashing along with all the air rushing in his face made keeping track of much difficult, but eventually Nimbus would slow to a stop nearby the guild building where loud rock music and singing could be heard from within. A beat that quickly got D'angelo rocking." Whoo! Looks like we're just in time! C'mon, Nimbus we got to check this place out. Bet we'll see all sorts of interesting people here!" Giving the cloud a few pats signaling to lower enough for him to hop off onto the ground where he did a few stretches and moved his legs to thoroughly wake them up." Let's get this unhitched for now." Humming along and lightly dancing to the beat as he gave his hands a few quick rubs and with it the cloudy rope holding the trailer went poof in a puff of smoke and with a wiggle of his fingers had the trailer gently floated up unto the sky eventually settling in place fair distance above the building.

" And with that out of the way, it's time to shake our derriere and get jiggy with it!" Thrusting his wide hips from side to side and slid his way into the guild, accidentally bumping some passerby's with his big butt as he went.

And following close behind was Nimbus who gave a quivering reluctant sigh or at least in the way a cloud could sigh.

After some more coaxing and gentle comforting, Tristan was finally able to make his way into the dining room where he gave some quick apologies for being late. Before he got himself seated at the table he gave his mons their food, making sure to give King and Princess some extra treats for all the hard work they did while the Torchic clung to his left leg shivering too scared to eat with all these people and pokemon around.

Tristan did an internal annoyed sigh at the orange chicken's cowardice as he knew dealing with it was gonna be difficult and time consuming. He just had to hope this Torchic would prove to be worth all extra effort the bird will require.

But that was a tomorrow issue as right now he just wanted to fill his belly. He took a look over the food and from it felt a sudden forlorn pang; a teen so used to eating nothing but five-star quality food from the best chefs from around the world only to find himself reduced to having to eat a meal better fit for the servants or pets. As expected, Tristan had been hesitant to eat at first while struggling to keep a friendly smile on his face as he gave thanks for the meal.

A meal that would likely be served at a diner or a cheap buffet and yet had proven to be the most delicious and flavor impacting dinner he had ever eaten. Hell, this might as well been his first proper meal period. Every bite he took flooded his tastebuds with a whole new world of flavor and then the realization hit him. All them five star meals with top of the line ingredients while tasty, always tasted plain and cold, nothing like Mrs. Anderson cooking where every single bite all but gushed in his mouth. His tired and agitated body filled warmed with each bite; strangely enhanced by the fact he actually had people to share this meal with for once besides the rare times Chives had free time to eat with him.

The pampered teen who had just been hesitant was now chowing down like a person starved. The fact he could eat as much as he like instead of those tiny portions that were nothing more than samples only spurred him on. It took all he had to keep from crying as he ate.

When it was over and the scrumptious high dwindled, Tristan once again thanked them for the meal and graciously accepted the offer to stay the night. Any chance to avoid having to sleep in a tent was one he would happily take.

Tristan spent the rest of the evening taking a nice long hot bath with lavender scented bath salt to wash all the filth and dirt. He spent his time in the bath tub trying to figure out a name for the torchic and thinking over some of the things Bill told him.

A new day and a good night's rest had Tristan waken up refreshed and in a good mood and after gathering his things would have his mons gather together." Now that we had a good meal and night's rest, we can put the awful ordeals we went through yesterday behind us. As today, I intend to have us achieve proper victories and work towards conquering our first gym and we shall do it all with our newest team member!" He proclaimed while pointing at the torchic who jumped with a frightened chirp while receiving a cheer from both King and Princess." Torchic may be cowardly and a weakling that no one will think of much now, but just you wait. I train and turn our little friend here into the ace of team Glory. Thus, King and Princess I want the two of you to give a proper welcome to your new party member...Ace!" Pumping his fist up as he stated the torchic's new nickname bringing out another bout of cheering from the two this time directed at the shivering bird who was quickly overwhelmed by the attention that he ran off to hide behind Tristan's legs." Yeah...its gonna take a lot of work but... that will just make Ace's turn around even more impressive. And come that day it will be others that will be the ones whose scared." Nodding as he peered down at the scared bird.

Some more pep talk and comforting to settle Ace down and Tristan was ready to set out with the magenta bird resting atop his head, Ace and Princess each resting on a different shoulder though Ace was huddled against his neck who would only press closer when Faye approached him.

" Travel together? Hmph, quite bold of you to think I'd allow a frumpy girl with zero fashion sense to travel with me. But, I can't blame you for wanting to travel with me, a Glory. I take it you have seen this gorgeous face before, and my capture of the egg thief having impressed you so much that you feel traveling with me will be safer for you, especially with the impressive team I have." He goaded with a fancy pose and a sparkling grin while indicating towards his mons, each surely not too easy to get, especially the torchic that he figured very few trainers in this region would have." I am in a rather good mood. Very well, I suppose we may travel for a time or at least as long as it benefits us. Might be good for Ace here too." A quick glance at the bird shivering against his neck.

" And by some miracle might be able to help with those absolutely dreadful rags you call clothes..." Trailing off as he glanced Faye over with a distasteful frown." But even miracles have their limits. At least you have some good mons of your own so that's something. Anywho, let us be off then and know that team Glory will keep us safe."

With that he moved to depart only to stop a few steps after and turn back." Where exactly are we even going?"

With Tristan having little to do but leave it up to King to try and coax the torchic out, he simply sat there idly looking over his pokedex and the pokemon that had been scanned out of boredom. At times he would look over to the couch to see no change though torchic's frantic scared chirping had lessened considerably; a sign that whatever King was doing might be working or that the orange chicken was tiring itself out.

The teen wasn't sure if had been scammed or just unlucky on the torchic the rancher picked or what, but whatever excitement he had at receiving such a rare pokemon vanished. And would be replaced with a hunger that grew with every passing second, he was forced to sit there and wait. A part of him wanted to just drag the bird out and get it back into his pokeball though that probably would do nothing but ensure the torchic forever fearing and hating him, plus not a good look to his other mons.

The smell of the food didn't help either and only escalated his hunger. Tristan was pondering on what to do when the frumpy girl whose name he either never got or simply forgot approached.

He leered at Faye; suspicious of her goal and after the encounters he has had with girls today who could blame him. Then he saw her put the bag of pokemon food for birds besides him. Tristan looked at it then shook his head." Hmph, who asked for your help? And as you can clearly see it's not about hunger." Motioning towards the shivering torchic being chirped at by King in a soothing manner." And it's clearly just overwhelmed by my shining presence." Waving her away dismissively.

It was at that moment he received a small bite to his arm as Princess yipped angrily up at him." Ow! What the hell was that for?!" He asked the canine incredulously only to see her pointing at the departing Faye then at the bag with a shake of the head." Riou riou lu." She huffed out at him as if reprimanding him.

Tristan winced at the bite to his arm and pride leading to him feeling bad. He opened his mouth to say something only to get yipped at again by Princess who averted her gaze. After a few seconds, the silver-haired teen muttered before giving a begrudging." Thanks..." A nudge from the Riolu." And... sorry." Keeping his head turned whether to hide the shame or embarrassment he was feeling, even seeing Princess give him a comforting smile did little to help.

Princess thought her trainer was just being a jerk, but for Tristan who was so used to having people help him purely to get something out of him due to his family connections and figured Faye to be no different. Since she had no real reason to help a stranger like him which involved giving up some of her own food. It definitely seemed like an odd thing for someone to do at least in Tristan's view.

At this point though it no longer mattered. The bag was there so he might as well try it or be stuck sitting there for possibly hours. Aiming a small glare at the bipedal canine while rubbing the spot of his arm she bit before grabbing a small handful from the bag and inspected it, unsure if the torchic would even like this kind.

A supportive nudge from Princess got him to stop being hesitant and with a reluctant sigh gently extended his hand forward." Um...here little uh... chicky? You hungry?" Tristan made sure to speak in a low and quiet voice with his palm open in a way where the torchic poking its head out from the couch thanks to King's gentle coaxing could see. A little shake of the food and sniffs seemed to do the trick as the scared chick slowly crawled his way out; nervously stepping over where the orange bird gave a few cautious and nervous pecks before feeling at ease enough to eat.
