I noticed the CS section has been updated but I have some questions.
Can you please provide an image as an example for the appearance? I have found many people view this differently and I want to make sure I am on the right track.
This is kind of also in regard to the appearance, can we provide a description instead if we cannot find a suitable picture to our vision?
I am also curious on why there are height restrictions? I was planning to make a character that might be on the smaller size but now it seems we are locked into a very small window of heights.
If we opt. out of doing the biography section, do you still want us to tell you the backstory in some way? Or are we free to just completely skip? Please advise.
Thank you for your time and I apologize for so many questions.
Firstly, if you just absolutely CANNOT find an image to suit you, then yes, I will allow detailed descriptions.
Secondly, by HD animation, I basically mean graphic animation. Not sketches or anime or doodles.
Thirdly, the reason for height restrictions is based from past experiences. You give a free range for height and there’s always someone that wants to create a seven foot hulk-man with rhino skin. Or a two foot gnome character. Even though this is science fiction, I feel like a height range is necessary. However, I am willing to stretch the limit; 5’4”-6’4”.
I’m assuming we’re allowed to have our characters having worked for a listed corporation Pre-War? Cuz’ I’d like to offer forth a technician/robotics specialist who worked for Verhauzen. Would that be okay?
Nice. No having to run around as a crippled deadbeat is a positive in my book.
I should have probably tacked it on my question yesterday, but what would the general limitations of these upgrades be like? Just so I generally know where his strength lies and so that I don't step over any boundaries. Nothing's make or break for me as I like the idea I've been forming, just want to know where you stand on it.
Hmmmm, low yield kinetic barriers, kinetically charged strikes, perhaps a slight shockwave from charged “slam attacks”. Nothing that would cave in a small house though. Just severely damage it. Perhaps amplified quick reflexes and muscle endurance...
I'm curious about prosthetics. I have this idea for a Pro-Wrestler strongman of sorts, working in a modern wrestling field where dedication to your job means enhancing yourself for the job as much as possible to keep relevant. Would superior replacements to arms (Potentially legs, though I don't want to push it) be usable for my character?
Not entirely sure how well they'd hold up through stasis, but I figured I'd ask.
That would be an acceptable character. Biotic wrestling is indeed a thing, granted of course implants and upgrades are limited within a safe and legal parameter. In short-a biotic wrestler is acceptable. As for the cryogenic effect on his implants, I would say nothing major. No shut-downs or crippling damage.
• Blue Sections Security Firm: Founded in 2240, twenty-three years before the apocalyptic war, Blue Sections Security Firm was a private security and investigation contractor. Funded by a number of Wall Street stock players, the division acted as security guards, carried out private investigations, and buffering for police units. Their ranks were made up of a diversity of backgrounds, from ex-military to retired law enforcement to PI’s.
In 2248 they developed an international unit, more heavily armed and better funded than the original United States security base. Titled Blue Sections International Division, they were a child company of BSSF. Officially they offered offshore corporate security, political escort, and policing in unstable regions. Unofficially, they were hard hearted thugs who enforced NAF bureaucratic extortion via brute force and threats, as well as keeping potential insurgents stamped down. Ordered as off limits to media personal and having never faced any consequence for their harsh and even brutal methods, they were effectively off-leash and untouchable. In truth the only difference between BSSF and BSID was the weaponry and levels of jurisdiction.
Based out of Chicago, Illinois, Blue Sections had recruitment centers and private armories and warehouses all over the country.
• Alpha-Omega Genetics Labs: Founded in 2180, Alpha Omega Genetics was a leading corporation in genetics research and green level genetic modifications. Though accused multiple times since their founding of unethical research and illegal experiments (such as human gene fusions and cloning), Alpha-Omega always maintained a spotless slate. Granted they were heavily funded by a number of wealthy individuals and were also Blue Sections Securities’ number one client. Just a few years prior to the Fourth World War, the accusations of genetic engineering and gene splicing flared to a new degree, resulting in protests outside of their corporate HQ in New York City. Ultimately all allegations were labeled unprovable and all evidence was declared inadequate. Even the various disappearances of several reporters who were working undercover in Alpha-Omega labs across the nation.
Originally out of NYC, Alpha-Omega Genetics formed a partnership with an London based genetics corporation before later on absorbing them into Alpha-Omega as their “Euro branch”. Alpha Omega has a number of research labs across the nation, and no shortage of secret R&D facilities to boot.
• Verhauzen Robotics INC: Founded in 2223 by the German born Werner Verhauzen, Verhauzen Robotics became the NAF’s leading robotics manufacturer, their clientele spanning from mining companies to appliance chains to politicians. In 2258, after pressure from the board of directors and stock holders, the aging Werner stepped down begrudgingly, allowing his son John Verhauzen to take over as CEO. Two years later, after rubbing elbows with politicians and military bureaucrats, Verhauzen Robotics INC was contracted to prototype and potentially produce “combots” and heavier VI controlled mecha. Verhauzen Robotics ceases all lesser contracts and acquired under the table funding and their best minds set to work on building machines of war.
One year before the apocalyptic war, Verhauzen manufactured humanoid “combots”, repulsorlift VI platform weapons, and small scale battle armor and mech units. Amidst the war, Verhauzen was pressured heavily by military brass, and when they failed to deliver, the NAF nationalized the company and seized all corporate resources, facilities, funds, and personnel. Verhauzen corporate HQ was based in Seattle, however practically ever state had Verhauzen factories and R&D facilities.
• Cerebra: Founded in 2190, Cerebra is a government sponsored Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Intelligence research and development division. It was their ingenuity that granted humanity personalized robots, interactive VI personas, and user more convenient and user friendly computers and other devices. Though predominantly civilian, Cerebra did pan out many of their scientists, programs, and software to the military and corporate major sectors. This granted businesses access to efficient and money-saving programs and artificial assistance, while the military was granted advanced AI and VI technology. It was Cerebra’s firmware that brought Verhauzen’s robotics to life.
NOTE: The raw form of the character sheet rests below. I ask that you remember that all characters are suffering amnesia of some degree, wether it be only partial and involving miscellaneous and tedious information, such as their name, age, or birthplace, or total memory loss. If you have any questions or wonders please consort the lore provided above or simply ask me. I ask that you please in some way distinguish in your CS what your character does and doesn’t remember about themselves. Be it color coding or a section listing what they remember. If you use color coding please provide a color key.
Character Full Name: (First, last, and middle name.)
Character Appearance: (Uploaded or linked image. “HD” animated images only please. I will also accept animation filtered RL images.)
”The threat of worlds end is the old threat.” ______________________________
Premise
The world has ended. Mankind has fallen. In the year 2263 Anto Domini, after several years of growing tension between the world powers of the time, the greatest catastrophe that could happen happened. A four way global conflict between the leading world powers. After nearly a year of intense fighting that spanned the continents, what was the Fourth World War would be the dusklight of modern civilization.
In the winter months of 2263, just weeks before the new year, much of the world lay ravaged and scarred from the greatest war known to human history. Death tolls were in the millions, and despite multiple attempts at peace talks and compromise not one of the four warring states would relent.
Desperate in their strife, two of the leading powers developed powerful super weapons. Both of these weapons were a type of orbital cannon; powerful laser technology of mass destruction.
The die were cast, and both sides used their respective weapons on opposite foes, and then each other. And it was these dreadful happenings that brought civilization as we know it crumbling down. What little of humanity survived the cataclysm scraped and squabbled amongst itself, fighting over what remained.
But not all is lost. For now, two hundred years later, a handful of survivors have awakened. As the cities burned and the innocent cried out, this handful of individual were placed in cryogenic stasis. For two hundred years they slumbered, hibernating, their bodies maintained by machines and chemicals. And now they’re long slumber has ended, and they find that they have lost much of themselves. Their memories have been distorted or have been lost completely. In this broken and ravaged world, this handful of survivors must work together to survive and uncover the truth about themselves and the world that is now lost to them.
This is a post-apocalyptic science fiction RP, as you have surely gathered, set in the far future. In the final days of a world war that had ravaged much of the earth, a mass of refugees took sanctuary in an underground shelter. At some point, all of those present sealed themselves an emergency stasis chamber, locked away in cryogenic storage for two centuries.
Our story begins with a handful of individuals waking from their hibernation. They find the emergency shelter abandoned and nearly all of the cryogenic pods empty. Some contain corpses. Much of the facility was damaged and the power is offline in many areas, leaving sections of the shelter sealed off. With most of the survivors suffering from severe memory loss or outright amnesia, their only guide is the glitched facility AI and scattered documents and clues throughout the structure.
Players will create their own unique character, a fellow survivor seemingly left behind like the others in the crumbled facility. With their memories lost, human civilization effectively destroyed, and their place of sanctuary damaged and without food stores, this collective of stragglers must gather their courage and grit to survive.

Prior to the apocalyptic Fourth World War, human civilization had reached heights thought impossible centuries before. By the dawn of the twenty third century, technology and science had reshaped the world as we know it. Vast urban densities sprawled the land masses and yet modern eco science had ensured preservation of our worlds’ environment. Advanced terraforming technology saw arid deserts and wastelands replaced by lush jungles and vibrant forests. Defying what was thought possible, advanced urban civilization was coexisting with a world thought fragile and crumbling centuries before.
Modern medicine also saw extraordinary leaps forward. Antibodies, serums, and vaccines were far more effective in eradicating lethal and crippling diseases, bacterias, and viral agents. Nanotechnology was greatly embraced by the medical field, and modern medical “nanites” as they were dubbed were used in a variety of methods by doctors and medical researchers. Clusters of these precise microscopic robots were released into patients and could perform a variety of tasks from removing cancerous tissues to repairing bone damage caused by osteoporosis. Surgical robots were used for precise procedures that even the steadiest human hand could botch.
Space exploration reached new heights as well. By the mid twenty-third century, research stations and mining colonies had been placed on three different worlds, and orbital refineries and relay stations dotted the heavens surrounding earth. Many resources scarce on earth such as minerals, metals, and gases were now shipped in from outer worlds. Satellites and long range probes scoured the Milky Way and journeyed to the far beyond.
Civil sciences and engineering ushered in fresh perspectives in architecture, infrastructure, and designing across much of the world. Entire cities and nations have been redesigned and old world monuments and architectural wonders have been restored and improved upon. Repulsorlift technology has almost entirely replaced ground based automobiles and machinery, aside form heavy industrial vehicles and various forms of grounded military equipment.
Advanced VI and AI has offered multiple conviences, as well as new age personal devices and portable computers. The E-Net (as it was now named) spanned to all corners of the first world and touched society in many ways. Some of which were not all positive.
Despite the hopes that advances in science and human civilization would unite humanity, if anything it only further divided it. The towering cities of steel and the glass castles spanning the world were surrounded by impoverished slums and derelict rural communities which became hubs of dissidents and criminals. The third world still existed, and the various impoverished nations and regions across the world groveled at the feet of the first world.
In exchange for terraforming, increased security, and access to new technology, the “lesser nations” found their lands being plundered and their funds siphoned away by these “techno powers”. Governments were being bought out and national armies encouraged to disband as foreign industry and dominance seeped in over the borders. This would inevitably lead to the Third World War, a decade long struggle between the Confederacy of Sovereign Nations (CSN) and the various super powers of the world, primarily the North American Federation, the European Union, and the Greater Republic of China.
After millions of lost lives and widespread damage, a peace conference was held in Paris, the Paris Council of 2171. The superpowers agreed to withdraw their tendrils from the smaller nations. However, many sovereign states had been annexed in the war and occupied, and their governments collapsed. The North American Federation, the Autocratic Federation of Russia, and the Greater Republic of China particularly had seized a great deal of territory. The NAF sweeping up much of Latin America and Russia conquering the Baltic states and Slavic nations. The Chinese had assimilated much of Central Asia under their rule as well as India, the Philippines, and Indonesia. The nations of the EU had also expanded into Northern Africa, though ultimately reinstated seized lands to the respective nations, having not collapsed any governments themselves. As well as not wanting the responsibility of imperializing the tribal nations of North Africa.
The great shift in power, territory, and influence led to two decades of civil wars, minor insurgencies, and ethnic and religious wars. In the 2190’s however, a series of alliances, security and trade pacts, and “military umbrellas” placed the world into a cold war state. Declared as the “Second Cold War” by a Japanese diplomat and philosopher in 2245.
This sixty-plus years of unsettled peace would ultimately end in a war of annihilation in in the year of 2263.
When the Fourth World War came, it can be said it was inevitable. After the events of the Third Great War and the shift of power, the dominos were set for disaster. Each of the three great powers had become arguably tyrannical, corrupt, and abusive of the masses.
The North American Federation and it’s imperialism of South America was beyond depleting to Latin America. The continent was being raped of its resources, national armies had been abolished at the end of the Third Great War, and the representatives of the NAF’s new “client states” were corrupt local tycoons and disgraced politicians groveling at the NAF’s feet. Every attempt at insurgency was violently crushed, from formations of guerrilla units to mass protests. The United States bureaucrats even gave their pet private security force “Blue Sections” complete jurisdiction and military and law enforcement authority over Latin America.
Across the Atlantic Russia loomed like a Goliath over the European Union. Shadow wars and political conflicts were engaged in the Middle East and across Northern Africa as the EU and Russia both attempted to both gain allies and access to resources. Puppets were given national seats and since the desolving of the CSN (Confederacy of Sovereign Nations) ethnic and tribal animosities had been flaring up.
In the Far East things faired no better. With the Greater Republic of China annexing all of Central Asia and much of the Pacific, tensions were at a boiling point between neighboring nations, including Australia and New Zealand.
In the summer of 2262, a series of conflicts erupted in Africa and the Middle East. Russian and EU puppet nations effectively at war while tribals and religious zealots committed acts of mass terrorism and “cleansing” attacks. Mass weapons tests in the Pacific lead to a hair trigger standoff between China an the NAF, while unrest stirred in Latin America over the increasing squalor and historically rampant poverty.
The Fourth World War “officially” began in mid January of 2263, when Russian Federation forces that had been amassing along their western borders began a mass invasion into Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Greece. China Simultaneously launched naval and air assaults against Australia, the duo declaring war on the EU, Australia, and the NAF. The conflict escalated over months, evolving from tactical strikes to cyber warfare to mech war.
As the greater powers blitzed each other dictators, extremists, and rogue parties stirred unrest and terrorism rose to new heights unseen in human history. Cries for peace were drowned out in the chaos, becoming cries of loss and agony. Super weapons were inevitably deployed and entire regions were reduced to ashen wastelands. The superpowers suffered just as the lesser nations, the war having drug on for six long years now, exhausting the resources of the world. Freighters returning from space were blown from the skies by rival forces and orbital facilities were struck by long range aircraft and missiles.
Desperate to temper the fires of war, the NAF leaders had poured all of their remaining funds and government resources into a project meant to create the perfect super weapon, dubbed Project Oblivion Eye. The end result was a powerful orbital weapon, a high energy satellite with a powerful drive system. Said satellite could fire a high velocity particle beam with destructive power equivalent to a nuclear missile. The weapon was meant to be used as the perfect deterrent. A razor edged bargaining chip to force the Russians, Chinese, and their allies and associates to cease their military operations and then as a reinforcing agent to broker for peace.
The weapon was tested, it’s beam fired into the Pacific Ocean, the shockwaves causing massive tidal waves and a earth quake. As the world stared in fear and awe, the NAF was confident their new weapon could act as a sentinel for peace and complacency. This idea was shattered when the Chinese revealed their own orbital weapon, nicknamed the “Dragons Tongue”. Founded on prototype data stolen from the NAF.
It remains unclear who fired first, but both super weapons were activated. Hong Kong and Washington DC were both obliterated. The explosions practically vaporized both cities and the resulting shockwaves from the weapons lead to earthquakes across China and the eastern United States. In immediate retaliation for the destruction of Washington, the acting NAF authority launched nuclear attacks against China, using a cyber-attack to put Chinese counter measures offline as Asia was batteries by nuclear strikes, entire cities turned to craters.
Russia immediately retaliated, launching nuclear strikes across the United States and the Canadian region, using an advanced VI of their own design to hijack NORAD’s systems and also launch nuclear strikes against the nations of the EU. Realizing what had been done, NORAD immediately fired the Oblivion Eye on Moscow, neutralizing the entire acting government of the Autocratic Federation of Russia. The resulting chain reaction of nuclear strikes, anarchic uprisings and insurgencies, and full scale conflict ushered in the end of civilization as we know it.
It has been two hundred years since the great cataclysm that saw the end of human reign on earth. While humanity is not entirely “doomed”, it has certainly been leveled tremendously. Small nations, survivalist republics, and armed factions still exist, though far spread and mostly in South America, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Much of the South Pacific was spared, including Australia and the Pacific isles. Australia being the only modern nation as a whole to maintain itself these past two hundred years, taking on an isolationist policy.
In the United States (where our story is set), it is truly a land of apocalypse. Entire regions are irradiated and toxic, and the once mass metropolises are now burned out crumbled husks. Marauders, cannibals, and salvagers prowl the wastes and comb through the “Pre-War” ruins. Scattered survivors have formed small colonies and enclaves. Mutants and rogue mecha make wandering the wastes and ruins a dangerous errand. In this fallen world, only the strongest and bravest will survive.
@Scrivener Ah, that's too bad. But, since you're interested I'll explain my Aasimar.
Goes by Revenant, because whatever his actual name is has been lost to him. All he remembers is that he awoke in the Shadowfell one day, having no recollection of how he got there, who he was, or anything before that moment. With only a hastily forged tomahawk, bowie knife and spear, the Aasimar fended off shades and shadow creatures day after day.
Eventually, he would encounter a lost spirit of a paladin, since betrayed by comrades who forsook their oaths and murdered him, leaving his spirit to wander the Shadowfell. The spirit, whom the Aasimar would eventually call Spectre offered a pact; He would lead the Aasimar to a portal back to the material plane. In exchange, the Aasimar would allow the spirit to take refuge in his body and help him carry out his vengeance against those who wronged him.
When the Aasimar did emerge from the portal and looked upon the rising sun for the first time in too long, he wept. However, things weren't always peachy between the two, between Spectre wanting to hunt down his quarrel, with regard for little else, and the Aasimar seeming more interested in reclaiming his memories. But, in time, the duo would indeed bond and grow to work together.
And so, Revenant and Spectre would form a new pact. To lash out against the darkness of the world, so the light may continue to flourish.
Sounds very interesting.
An ideal background for a character who will be pitted against evil. I would say go with him.
