Bio

I am perpetually digging a deeper hole for myself. In real life, that habit torments me daily. Online, not so much. It must be the fact that I'm hiding behind a laptop, but I'm not actually afraid to speak my mind. I'd like for you to know that there is a difference between knowing when to hold one's tongue and speaking one's mind. I'm pretty sure I've got that down pat (probably not tho, let's be honest).
While I'd like to abstain from holding the title of Public Enemy #1 and friendship is something I make an effort towards, I can take a hint. If you'd rather not be friends, I understand, and will gladly meet you with the same attitude you meet me with (if not take it a bit further (I'm sorry in advance)). Kindness, patience, and civility will be paid back, plus interest, as will rudeness, sick burns, and overall disrespect. Again, sorry in advance.
I don't think I'm too terribly argumentative. hm.... maybe I am.....

As for the things that actually matter on this website, I make an effort to write properly. I'm not bothered by any writing style because I don't actually know who's writing, or what their circumstances are. I will never correct any spelling, grammatical, or other errors (please hit me if I do). I think that it is rude to put one's hand into another person's creation. You wouldn't redo one of Picasso's later pieces, would you? NO! You wouldn't rewrite Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, no matter how completely long and boring it is. Are you Picasso or Dostoyevsky? I think not. Both those men are dead. And, let's be honest, we're writing text based role plays on an internet nerd-hub. I am one of those nerds, and so to act better-than-you and more privileged is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. We're not publishing books here, people! We're writing on the internet for FUN. It's meant to be fun.

I'm going to use mine. As far as anyone else, they can make new characters or use the ones they made from the original go. It's up to them. :)
I'm not sure how many we have with us at this moment. We currently have four, maybe five people. I've contacted everyone who was interested originally, so we'll have to see what the rest of them say.
@Treue I like what you've got so far. :)
@DarkwolfX37 Not yet. I'm going to do that right now. Thank you for reminding me.

EDIT: Alright! Everyone has been notified. :) I hope this goes well this time.
Sweet! I'm excited to see this play out. :3
Mr Allen J,
I don't want to trouble you with a mention, as you expressed the sentiment of not posting on this thread any longer. However, my "rant" is still appropriate in my eyes. I was under the impression that I and DarkwolfX37 were interested in carrying out the original idea. I find it disrespectful to change someone's idea around in the first place, no matter how close you are to the creators. It is a fun challenge to write for someone else's idea.
Your backhanded insult (yes I am speaking about the laziness) is not being blunt. It is an insult. If you did not want to participate, all you should have said was that you wouldn't have been continuing.
I have no issue with bluntness, but the fact that you would take it further into name calling is entirely revealing of your character in my eyes. I was willing to be friends, or at least acquaintances, with you, as you can see from our previous discussions. When you suggested that I was lazy, I will admit, I got angry. I still consider it to be a considerable insult to my character.
As for your characters, I know exactly where it came from within me, I just don't know what let it out. Please accept my apology for my insult to that. Jokingly, I will add, what is happening with their proportions tho? Sorry, that was also uncalled for. But woah man.
I'm leaving my response at this, but feel free to PM if you would still like to discuss.

Sincerely,
Discord
I'm too lazy to do even the laziest of things. Here I am, bending to the will of those around me (begrudgingly, may I add). I'm going to provide links to the original posts, for those who would like to know what's happened in the past. For those who are saying, "get on with it, spare us from your whining!" I'll try to sum it up best I can and answer any questions you have. :)
The Short Version (lazily copied from the original interest check which was written by the user, @Nightmare Bunny):

" MALFUNCTION – A Painfully Realistic Superpower RP

Have you ever wondered how “superpowers” might look in real life?

Have you ever wondered what kind of world might spawn such powers?

…have you ever wondered if there was a world where having superpowers really, really sucked?

Well, if so, look no further! @Ogobrogo, @Zoldyck and I wondered the same thing, and now we’re proud to present you with Malfunction, the superpower RP where everything in the world is terrible!

The basic premise is simple: a world united under a single government, where super-powers come with devastating consequences, and where supers (dubbed “Genetic Malfunctions”) are feared for their terrifying abilities. Malfunctions are rooted out during their late teen years, through a test administered every year by their local district to all students between the ages of 15 to 20: the time period over which powers begin to manifest.

Testing positive marks you out as a non-human and a Genetic Malfunction. It means there are now two options for you. If your ability is too powerful, then you are put to death immediately. If not, then you’ll shipped off to one of 150 different Training and Education Facilities across the globe: the concentration camps of the twenty-first century. There, you are trained to use your abilities in order to uphold societal order at all costs.

But even the powers themselves aren’t all sunshine and daisies -- this is the real world, after all, and dangerous mutations mean dangerous consequences. Throwing a super-strength punch means breaking every bone in your arm. Excessive use of telekinesis can cause serious brain damage.

Malfunction takes place in this world. Specifically, it takes place in one of these Training and Education Facilities: TEF-149.

MALFUNCTION -- coming soon, to a Roleplayer Guild near you!"

Please excuse my rant on the new thread. Yes, actually, it is the reason why I'm putting up this entirely gratuitous interest check in the first place. I'm not normally this grumpy.... I don't know what's gotten into me. Sorry about that and please don't let it stop you from enjoying this rp. I think that the creators of this idea really had something. That is why I decided to not change anything about it in the new thread, aside from some (in my humble opinion) inconsequential changes to some certain details. If you do have an issue with the things I've changed then please tell me. I do care about the opportunity to get this story rolling.

I hope to work with you in the future,
Discord
@Mr Allen J
Kk. First off, I credited the original authors. We had people from the first thread who were already interested. There's no need to do an interest check first if you've already got people who are interested/signed on already. We could just consider the first go at it an interest check seeing as things didn't go as well and it never left the ground in the first place.
Secondly, if you wanted a "similar" roleplay then you definitely should have brought it up. I'm not a mind reader, sir, so if you had ideas about how this should have gone, then you should have brought it up. Even then, your "similar" idea would have been rejected by us outright. We were given permission to use this idea to try and get it started again. Now, where I come from, that means that the proper thing to do is use the same idea, not change it into something else. If you wanted something different, or as you put it, "similar," then you should have made one up yourself. I think that most of the original users who were interested in this idea wanted to participate in it. They, unlike you, who creates enough characters for yourself to outnumber your co-writers and so usurp the role play to manipulate it into your own idea rather than respect the effort of the creators, wanted to write for the idea they were presented with. I see that you are perhaps afraid of the challenge of taking up an idea that is not entirely your own. Collaboration is the spirit of post-by-post style role play afterall. If you're not comfortable with that, you could very well go invest your time in Japanese role playing games featuring characters whose impossible breast/body proportions you've "copy/pasted" into your own cardboard characters.
As for the laziness comment, I didn't see you making any effort to reboot this marvelous idea. I was, and am, interested in seeing how this story, as it is, will unfold. Regardless of what you were expecting, to come and continue to show disrespect to an idea you weren't all that keen on in the first place is a waste of your time. I'd like to tell you about the effort I made to "copy/paste" this rp into a new thread, but that would also be an immense waste of your time. That would certainly help validate my actions, as if I need validation from you. Fortunately unlike you, I don't need validation from someone on the internet.
I actually look forward to your discontinued participation, as I wasn't all that keen on your characters in the first place. Thank you for the laughs, though.

Sincerely,
Discord.

P.S. I hope this finds you well. I did not intend to write this in the way that I did, only to meet you with the same courtesy that you met me with. Best of luck.

MALFUNCTION – The Superpower RP Where Everything Sucks

What the hell is this?

Welcome to a world where having the genetic mutation equivalent of "superpowers" really, really sucks.

The Rules:

1. No "adult themed" content in the RP -- fade to black or take it to the PM.

2. The GM's word is law. Yeah, all three of us. We can talk about changes/new plots as a democracy. :)

3. No god-modding/auto-hitting.

4. Remember that there are real consequences in this setting! If you're going to spit on a guard's uniform, expect to be punished if not hung. Please keep yourselves in check with this one. I would hate to be the bad guy and have to write it in for others. As would hate to see an argument start because of it. :)

5. Keep IC drama separate from the OOC ~*~*~*Friendship.*~*~*~

6. Act realistic -- don't suddenly barge into conversations where you have nothing to do.

7. READ THE GODDAMN LORE. The essentials, and preferably the supplements too.

8. I know it's a challenge in large groups, but let's keep 1x1 interactions to a minimum. In my experience it's always slowed the progress of a story line if only two characters are interacting.

LORE ESSENTIALS

Reading the lore essentials is the most important thing that you can do before starting your CS!! We're looking for characters seem to "fit into" the crapsack world of Malfunction, so make sure you know what's going on! And, of course, if you have any questions... please feel free to ask a GM (preferably all the GMs) via a PM. I, as well as everyone who was a part of the first attempt to get this up and running, can do my best to answer questions.

We're friendly people, and we don't bite~!! Well... Zoldyck only bites sometimes. NO BITING. I feel like I should add that to the rules... :P

SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS

We'd prefer it if you at least read the world-building sections of this! But, of course, this is supplementary material. Read this when you're trying to get a better sense of the Malfunction World.

Character Creation

Please read the lore BEFORE you make a character! And if your desired power isn't listed here yet, don't worry -- maybe you're just more creative than us! Go ahead and check with us, and we'll tell you whether you can use it or not.

(I'm so tired rn.)
@Mr Allen J Thems fightin words, sir. Put up yer dukes. :P
