I may introduce The Rambler before time skips ahead, and just not have him reach Davenport yet. Also thought I should give him a couple more weapons, like a couple of guns and a few grenades. Since he lacks a lot of the crazier powers of the stronger characters, he may need a few more tools to keep himself alive.
Yep, he's the one. I somehow beat him on the first try, but not by much. The two bosses after him were massive dicks to me though, took a few tries for each.
But I'll keep quiet now. Love that game to pieces but don't wanna spoil anything
Appearance: A middle-aged man with serious eyes and a chiseled face, though his age lines suggest that time is beginning to catch up with him. He is physically large and reasonably muscular, and keeps his dark hair cut very short. He generally wears suits and suit coats with a matching derby hat for civilian attire. While incognito, he sports a pinstripe black suit and suit pants, and a very thin but resilient set of flexible armor underneath his clothes. A long black coat housing his weapons rests above his suit. He wears glove-like gauntlets that are reinforced with steel. A charcoal-colored mask covers all but his eyes, though the bottom half of the mask can be removed to expose his mouth and nostrils if need be.
He more closely resembles Van Alden from Boardwalk Empire than anyone else I can think of.

Name: Odest Emporio Alias: The Rambler Gender: Male Age: 44 Alignment: Mercenary Race: Human Powers/weapons: He carries an enchanted dagger that he picked up from a previous mark. The dagger affords him some level of protection from magical attacks, and the blade is extremely durable. The inside of the coat houses a pistol along with additional clips of ammo. He also keeps a high-powered sniper rifle inside of his car.
Ability: Odest is able to strengthen any of his five senses by temporarily 'turning off' one of his other senses. For every sense he sacrifices, his remaining senses get progressively stronger, reaching superhuman levels. Increasing his sight can allow him to enhance his vision several times over, and can allow him to see through objects and spot trails invisible to the naked eye at higher levels. Powering up his sense of touch gives allows him to more accurately control his muscular structure and increase his strength and speed. And so forth. As a downside, sacrificing a particular sense at the wrong time can potentially open him up to taking an attack that he may have otherwise been able to avoid, so he must use his ability thoughtfully. Outside of this power, Odest is particularly strong and athletic for a human being, a result of surviving through mercenary work and fighting meta-humans for many years.
History: As a boy Odest lived in poverty, and his life was further complicated by the presence of his unusual power, which was present since birth. He foolishly displayed his power to multiple people, not knowing how they would react until the damage had already been done. Additionally, his powers would occasionally rage out of control, temporarily rendering him blind or deaf. His ability allowed him the super-hearing and super-sight that let him discover how his so-called friends really felt about him, and eventually he eavesdropped on his parents lamenting his nature and being unsure of what to do with him. Odest abruptly ran away from home and never looked back.
Needing money to survive on the streets, Odest figured out how to hone and improve his ability, which allowed him to excel in jobs concerning espionage and assassination. Taking on the alias of The Rambler, Odest soon made a good living for himself taking odd jobs that few other mercenaries were equipped to handle. He eventually became unsatisfied with apprehending and killing normal people, and began to relish the opportunity to fight beings with 'powers' such as his.
Odest find a great sense of fulfillment through his jobs, and when not on the clock he gluts himself on fine food, good wine and other such luxuries. His checkered past has left him stoic and self-centered, though he is not completely beyond camaraderie.
Appearance: In human form, The Collective is a young woman with snow white hair, hazel eyes, and a very pale complexion. She wears tight black pants and a simple sleeveless white shirt. She frequently ends up with scars and wounds of various origin, but due to Mognag’s ability to heal itself these wounds come and go. In demon form, The Collective reveals a nightmarish body that resembles a large fleshy scorpion with a worm-like abdomen. It has a large maw full of sharp teeth below a set of piercing slit-like yellow eyes. In place of a scorpion’s claws or legs, it has four pincer-like appendages with three large clawed fingers apiece, each finger equidistant from one another. At the end of its wriggling midsection is a large and powerful scorpion’s tail.
Name: Angie/Ivory/Mognag Alias: The Collective Gender: Female/other Age: Angie/Ivory: 25 Mognag: Unknown Alignment: Villain Race: Human possessed by a demon Personality: The Collective is comprised of three separate personalities: Angie, Ivory and Mognag.
Angie, the original personality of the human base for The Collective, frequently suffered from boredom and dissatisfaction with her life, as well as an intense longing to be accepted. At this point the Angie personality has been almost completely suppressed.
Mognag, also known as Mognag of the Shade, is a demon that has possessed Angie’s body. Though intelligent, Mognag is a simmering pot of bloodlust with little self-control, and thus ignores its better judgement to indulge its primal urges most of the time. Mognag has no regard for human life and enjoys causing death and destruction.
Ivory is the third personality of The Collective, created by Angie’s fractured psyche some time after being possessed. Ivory has since succumbed to madness at the hands of Mognag and has grown to resemble the demon in many ways. Though not quite as vicious, Ivory is every bit as callous as Mognag, though she retains some measure of control and critical thinking that she employs to keep The Collective alive. Mognag and Ivory have come to form a sort of symbiotic relationship, though it is far from a stable one as Ivory and Mognag will frequently argue and fight for control.
Powers/weapons: With the exception of Angie/Ivory’s prior knowledge of low-level magic, all powers that The Collective has were contributed by Mognag.
The Collective wields superhuman strength, speed and reflexes even in human form. These traits are amplified when in demon form. It can spit an unknown gooey substance which will rapidly oxidize and catch fire once it hits something. It can disassemble its body to quickly travel through shadows, though the shadow must be big enough to envelop its entire body. It is also capable of rapidly healing its own wounds, accomplished by feeding off of the pain and misery it causes. The more pain that The Collective inflicts, the more quickly it can heal itself. This trait is also The Collective’s biggest weakness, however; if it goes too long without ‘feeding’, its body will begin to fall apart and die.
History: Angie Dillingham was the pampered daughter of an extremely wealthy tycoon. Though ruthless and greedy, Angie’s father cared about her deeply, to the point of being overprotective. As she reached her teenage years Angie grew tired of her lot in life, of the lavish parties and being dolled up and paraded around as her father’s pride and little else, of being hated by her peers for being rich, of being too sheltered to relate to any one she met.
At age 19 she met a man that her father frequently worked with to handle the shadier sides of his business. She found him intriguing, and indulged him in talk as often as she could. Though he seemed distant sometimes, he treated her like a normal person rather than a spoiled rich kid, and she was fascinated by what little details he would reveal about his profession. She soon found herself thinking about him night and day, looking forward to his next visit, and even enjoying the parties her father threw, as long as she could convince him to come.
When at last she felt comfortable enough to confess her feelings towards him, he abruptly rebuffed her and left for the last time. Angie was utterly devastated and sunk into depression for a long time. Eventually her feelings for the man turned into an obsession, and she began to study the arcane arts behind her father’s back in an attempt to find something that would force the man to love her back.
After many moons of studying, gathering ingredients and waiting for the required time, Angie prepared a summoning ritual to grant her desires. Unfortunately, her amateur knowledge of the arcane betrayed her. Mognag of the Shade was summoned, who immediately possessed Angie and took control of her body. The demon forced her to flee her home and wander out of her hometown and into a vast wilderness, where it proceeded to torture her physically and mentally, gorging itself on her constant anguish for as long as it could.
Eventually Angie’s broken mind created the Ivory personality as a last resort, desperately trying to cling to what little sanity remained by forcing ‘someone else’ to take the punishment in her place. Ivory was ‘born’ into madness, being flooded with all of the pain that Mognag had inflicted upon Angie, and responded by becoming nearly as crazed and misanthropic as Mognag itself was. The two personalities struggled for dominance for a long time as Angie’s original self slowly went silent. Eventually Ivory became so used to the pain that Mognag inflicted on her that he could no longer feed on her emotions, forcing The Collective to attack innocents to sustain itself. This occasionally drew attention from mercenaries and metahumans, almost getting The Collective killed more than once. After a long period of time Ivory and Mognag came to tenuous terms: Mognag would allow Ivory to remain sentient and in partial control of The Collective if she would use her relative restraint and intellect to keep Mognag from getting them all killed during his feedings.
In the present day, The Collective has managed to stay relatively unknown by the world at large, choosing the time and place of its feedings carefully and retreating when threatened. For some reason, it finds itself drawn to Davenport…
I suppose it's something he could have proved to people, also. Like being able to hear something he shouldn't possibly be able to, or being able to spot something happening miles away. I didn't really think about that initially.
I assumed he should have some sort of melee weapon in case he has to fight something that bullets are ineffective against. But I suppose it does seem silly, thinking it over. I'll just remove it, his dagger would get the job done anyway. I figure he may have picked up a enchanted dagger from one of his victims at some point. It could give him some measure of protection from magical attacks and be really difficult to break.
And I didn't really explain it, but his powers were sometimes beyond his control at a young age, so every so often he would be temporarily stricken with blindness or deafness, or be unable to feel the ground beneath his feet. And he probably just blabbed about his ability to people when he was young and dumb. As he got older he learned how to turn his power on and off at will.

My favorite type of cake is peanut butter cake. Let me know if this works, or if I need to change anything.
Is there a particular type of character that would better suit the RP right now? I had a neutral/mercenary character in mind but I don't mind retooling him if a hero or villain would be needed more at the moment.
Right now I check in randomly at all hours of the day and night, because I [s]don't sleep[/s] love writing. So I'm easy to get ahold of if you need to.
