A friend of mine once told me that 'it's only ego if you can't back it up'. Too many people like to confuse confidence for arrogance -- there's a big difference.

Not to get all psychological, but some people are actually just 'wired' to take things people say literally. I'm like that to an extent, but I've learned that people here are usually just shitposting.

Happy Anniversary, Ailyn. Six years ago, you gave me a kindred soul, and brought light into a life which for all intents and purposes had been mostly nothing but darkness.

Valentine's Day's bittersweet when you've endured a long-distance relationship for over five years. Here's to celebrating the strength of a meaningful bond, instead of taking a shallow and easy path.

This bio will get reconstructed once I've left the site for good. I'll be collecting my data in the background for now, and sorting some loose ends. I'll be on and off to do it, so don't think I'm back if you see me around. Once I've dealt with everything, I'll log out properly and remove my 'ghost' status, and that'll be the last this site sees of me. This community is in serious need of growing up, and I'm not the least bit surprised that role-plays die here so frequently.

The 'Grim Reaper's Gambit' role-play is likely to reboot elsewhere eventually. The role-play will have some modifications, so contact me if you're curious since the original project won't accurately explain everything. There's no determined date for it to happen yet, since I've got other priorities and I'm not investing a lot of time in it until enough of the people interested have free time to properly commit (lack of dedication on the part of some players practically destroyed the previous version; it's very apparent it would've died even if I hadn't decided to leave). There's a group that're quite interested, but most of them are busy.

Anyway, come back later for an update later -- or don't; it's your life.

Tell me who you are or I possibly won't accept the request, since I assume most requests are bots.
Yes, people who I rarely/never spoke to - or who never met me - while I was still here are welcome.
No, those who disrespected me (and aren't sorry) while I was here or are trolls/immature in general aren't welcome.
Also, keep in mind that not all of these are currently being used actively, so friend request replies might be delayed on some of them.

Playstation Network (PSN): Shoryu_Magami
(I'm fairly easy to contact through here, though I'm not really gaming much due to my main project's workload.)

Discord: Shoryu Magami#4323
(Unlike Skype, I primarily text chat on this instead of voice chat. It's currently one of the easiest ways to find me. It causes my PC a lot of problems though.)

Skype: solitaryangel1983
(Usually running on my phone, mostly so I can talk to my fiancé, so it's easy to find me here. I've currently got no access to it on PC. It might take a while to see requests.)

Facebook: James Koutsoukis - Shoryu Magami
(Barely ever on this, but it exists. Mostly exists so @Ailyn Evensen can list me as her fiancé. You'll find me easily on messenger if you add me, but I don't do much else.)

Yahoo IM: shoryu_magami
(Does this even still exist anymore? It used to be my main method of text chat, but it's not on my current PC.)

I think what you're looking for is a ranked match, which I don't personally do, but it definitely exists here. I'm pretty sure some of the regulars here will take you up on it. I'm not actually sure if there's a universal rule involving having character sheets, but generally speaking I think it's a good idea to have them -- without a character sheet, people could just pull whatever bullshit they wanted out of nowhere.
Hangman

I'd like to think that I don't need to explain what this game is, but - for those who don't know - the basic idea is that you have to guess a word or sentence that'll be represented by a row of dashes. In most variants, things like names, places, brands, et cetera, often aren't allowed, but I'll be allowing them if someone requests them, since we'll be using a few 'house rules' anyway. You basically guess the word by guessing letters, and each time you get a letter right it gets put into all the places where appropriate, but if you get a letter wrong then part of the 'hangman' diagram is added, and once this diagram is completed you lose the game. At any point, players are allowed to guess what the whole world is, but they're penalized if they get it wrong.

I haven't decided how I'll represent the diagram yet, or if I'll just give you a certain number of guesses before you lose. I'm open to suggestions for anyone who has a way to make this more interesting. Also, I've yet to actually decide how many times people have to guess a letter/number wrong before they lose, and I haven't decided if it'll be different depending on how difficult the word/sentence is. We'll see, I guess. I've also considered the possibility that there'd be a limited number of guesses (right or wrong) until the players lose, but I'm not doing it yet -- this could become a new rule if things seem too easy.

Assuming we get enough interest, I might add this to my signature like I did with the murderer game I put up. If not, I'll just ignore it. There might not be a need for me to put it into my signature though, since - unlike the murderer game - I likely won't be hosting most of the rounds in this.

House rules we'll be going with for the game are as follows:

  • No limit to how many players can take part, so - unlike the murderer game - you don't need to 'join' before you start playing. You're allowed to take as many shots at it as you like (unless you go over the maximum wrong guesses), so don't feel like you have to wait for someone else.
  • If someone tries to guess the whole word/sentence and gets it wrong, they're eliminated and can't participate until the round ends. It also contributes a point to the total number of 'wrong guesses' before the players lose the game entirely.
  • The idea I have in my head so far is that if someone guesses the word/sentence correctly, they actually get to host the next round, but do keep in mind that I'll eliminate a host who goes inactive (I'll just outright end their game).
  • Players who use a word that's already been used before (whether right or wrong) get eliminated for the round and can't participate.
  • You should use the [ @Mention ] feature each time you guess, so the host can actually tell you if you're right/wrong without having to constantly monitor the thread.

I'm regrettably in this part of the site often enough that I felt like I should contribute another thread.

Make me proud of you.
@ELGainsborough

While I know you're not active, I figured I'd let you know that all my posts in the IC got edited, but it wasn't actually any legit changes to the narrative -- I've simply modified my writing style a bit (to be exact, I've changed the way I write thoughts) and wanted to make sure it remained consistent.

Anyway, I'm still fine to continue whenever, but there's no pressure to post or anything -- I'm running a fairly big project on this site now.
@Keyguyperson

So a 'Waifu TJRPG' based around Soviet Russia? I'm mildly surprised that doesn't exist, or at the very least that a WWII centred one doesn't exist (I guess it's too touchy for Japan). Unless I'm mistaken, a game came out on the PS3 that was basically a TJRPG with all these historical figures (Alexander the Great, et cetera) from various eras all being portrayed as cute anime girls (so not just focusing on Nobunaga, basically), so I'd be surprised if a Soviet isn't in there somewhere.
What did we do to your beautiful thread?

I guess to finally answer you:

You two've borderline turned it into some kind of spam thread showcasing your weird relationship.
@Raddum

Yeah, I'm not planning on spoiling why Mateus is interested in Terra, but I will say it's sort of personal. Mateus wouldn't really need to give any indication to Kefka that he knows Firion -- he can simply emphasize the fact that the trio in the Mist Cave is seemingly more experienced and prepared than the other groups (who are either young and in disarray, or are outnumbered), so it's logical to make sure the bulk of the evil forces are directed there to eliminate them quickly. He'll likely send more than one Hell Knight after Firion unless Kefka offers something significant.

At any rate, it makes sense that we should get Gohan's input first.
@Raddum

I don't have any personal objections to changing Marche's target to Terra, especially since - as you just pointed out - it'd actually allow Mateus to get on Kefka's good side too (which makes sense, considering Kefka is one of the Warriors of Chaos who is actually in his tier range until he reveals his full power). Considering the idea of sending Marche out is literally just to let him test his powers (without sending him after Firion), sending him after Terra is a viable option.

Keep in mind that I'll be sending a Hell Knight with Marche regardless of who he targets, so at the very least I'll be playing an enemy in the World of Balance battle too.

At this point my biggest concern is that Exdeath is the only one going after the Mist Cave group. I'm quite aware of the fact that Exdeath is powerful, especially with his regeneration, but he's essentially going three-to-one against an experienced protagonist group. Since Mateus wants Firion wiped out quickly, I'll probably have him send out forces there too.
@Raddum

Assuming Gohan sticks with the actions he's gone with for Jegran (I'm assuming Layle is waiting for us to arrive), do you have any thoughts or plans? Wondering if you still want to go along with the original plan with Marche, or if I'll send a different Hell Knight with him and make the Hell Dragoon move out on its own.
@Avianmosquito

I'm pretty sure the muting system isn't something you do. The people on that list were muted by a moderator -- it's a banning system.
