When you go from walking around at 5am like a half shut knife to bouncing out your bed 10 minutes before the alarm goes off within a month of early starts at work. Self-improvement, ho!

Celebrating the one-month anniversary of my RP starting! 135 IC posts already and still growing. Also still accepting players, so hop on over if you are interested in gritty superheroes. All welcome!

How to know when your day as a home shopper will be busy - when your boss can't be arsed counting all the orders to pick so he logs the official total as 'mental' :-P

Best feelings as a GM #1 - Sitting at work cackling because a player has literally set up an amazing plot hook without realising it. *evil chuckle*

Bio

Well, where to begin?

I found my love of roleplays through a brief block of sessions of D&D when I screwed up enough and brought an class from an entirely different plane to join the main party. After following the plot to the end - which involved our dwarven pilot flying a gunship while simultaneously controlling 4 cannons by tying string around them - we ended up crashing through a portal onto a different plane. When attempting to formulate a plan, one of the PCs delivered a line that has stayed with me ever since.

"Ask the artificer, he's already done it once."

Since then, I've done a 3+ year RP between two players - using the FATE system - in which we created an entire city through creating mentally unstable characters and callus cold-blooded killers. One particularly nasty NPC came about by a sheer accident, when the melee-build character out-snarked the diplomat. Which was much more fun than it sounds. Had a bad experience with this site before, in which the GM didn't plan far enough ahead to include any NPCs whatsoever, and the other characters had no interest in Player-to-Player interactions outside of their own 2-man group. Needless to say, it died with incredible speed, which was a shame.

But I was tempted back by a friend to play a Pokemon RP despite having no knowledge whatsoever of the topic outside of Gen 1 stuff, and even that was years ago. Despite everything, I've not only been holding my own, but coming up with a completely separate sub-plot from the main plot, and making the GM's life a misery. (Sorry Zan!)

My writing style draws heavily from the likes of Worm and The Dresden Files, which means I can do a great deal of two things. Snark and Escalation. Outside of that, I like to think i'm a dynamic roleplayer, but I prefer sticking to High Fantasy sort of settings. Anything Slice of Life-y doesn't do it for me. Unless i'm slinging magic, psuedo-magic or demons (while snarking at whoever is unlucky enough to warrant it) I feel as though I could be doing something more entertaining with my time. When it comes to RP systems, I enjoy FATE or narrative based things.

My first RP which I am GMing on this site is themed around Dragon Age as carried on from the far superior (in my humble opinion) plot of the first game.

That's pretty much all there is to know about me that people would actually care about. I'll update it as I do with important changes or epic moments. Until then, feel free to PM me if you have questions or invites to stuff, and i'll respond as soon as I can. ^.^

Didn't realise how may players were interacting with one another atm, didn't have much to write at all. Will continue to move the Circus along with each IC post I make with another big entry until everyone is finished, then i'll start the first combat rounds.

Gamble will find out who he's fighting after the first round is over(once I see if any other players want to take part, OOC). I'm leaving most of the betting stuff completely down to Duoya, but Wonderland usually doesn't ask for money up front so they can sell your debt on and leave you enslaved to other factions - usually the Consortium =P

The woman smiled sweetly, despite the look of concern on her face. “Of course not, sweetheart. Let me explain.”

“The PRT are worried about the state of your mental health after coming into contact with…” she paused, reading the next few words repeatedly. “Extremist dissident elements?” It was more of a question than a statement, and she looked at you with an eyeroll and a head shake before tossing the clipboard away. “Well that’s useless.”

Sitting down on a chair next to the bed, she gestured towards it. “Take a seat. Essentially, they are worried that because of your power, absorbing aspects of Sickle-Cell may have had a profound impact on your mental state.” Holding her hands up, she smiled again. “Now that is nonsense, we both know that, but they want to ensure you won’t run around sabotaging the Zenith in your spare time.”

“But forgot about why I’m supposed to be here. I don’t care what they’ve told me to look for or discuss with you.” Dr Yamada crossed her legs and met your gaze, earnestly. “I want you to tell me exactly how you feel. Not about this, unless you want to, just start somewhere. Talk to me. Let me understand just what makes you you.”

“For instance, Xoxi is an interesting name. Is there a story behind it?”

The Circus Maximus

Victory Road

The crowd’s reckless cheers grew to a fever pitch, as out onto one of the platforms, Whetstone appeared with Vulcan in tow. The throne atop this dais looked like a carefully-made replica of The Iron Throne, forged with countless real swords.

A fitting seat for the Queen of Blades, herself.

With Vulcan at her side, the first of a number of enormous threats had just strode casually up and took a seat in pride-of-place above the sea of bodies below. Even without their powers, the two armour-clad-compadres were an intimidating sight to behold.

Gonna have to do a raincheck on getting a post out tonight. Got more sleep than I have in months last night. So naturally, I am the most knackered I have been in months :-P

Couple that with the fact I've just eaten half of a 16 inch pizza, and I am ready to curl up an hibernate for a hundred years.

If I try writing tonight, it'll be an exhaustive mess of incoherent nonsense. Will post tomorrow night. Apologies again, all, but at the very least, I've succeeded in bringing you all together.

With the exception of Anomaly and Anonymous :-P
@LasreverBest cape name for an art-themed cape ever.

Love it. Agree with the addition of a Striker rating. Would love to see little quirks based on what they're made from and with. It'd give you more versatility, and power versatility is like gold dust in Boston.

My one pet peeve is the destruction gimmick. If you wouldn't mind, could you change that to something like 'it takes a day or two for a creation to gain enough strength to be useful again after destruction'? It'd mean you could summon them again right away, but they'd still be injured and pretty useless and would take away the arbitrary time limit for seemingly no reason. It's one of my biggest problem with RWBY OCs i've seen in the past. It works slightly better with Worm capes for spoilery reasons, but it's still better to incorporate some kind of reason rather than just time. If you don't like my suggestion for it, come up with something wildly different yourself, because I don't much mind what it actually is. ^.^

Side note - I had no idea you planned to make another character.

Regardless, consider her accepted! ^.^
@Old AmsterdamDon't worry, I don't think I ever actually specified the power negation wasn't still active inside the metal cage =P
@Old AmsterdamJust read, the post, btw. No. The nullification field covers pretty much everywhere in and around the Circus - except the interior of the metal cage. In there, you are free to beat each other to death as your heart desires =P

Although there are healing capes standing by. No-one has ever died in the Circus, despite real efforts to the contrary =P
@BananaYou are. You most certainly, definitely are =P

Reading the posts are giving me no small amount of enjoyment and hope for an Evil Anomaly at some stage =P
@BananaNot as such. They won't actually try to kill her.

They just won't let you out =P
Not as long as I would've liked, but i had to cobble it together quickly as I went out for tea earlier so my entire schedule got knocked back a few hours. next one will be in two days. Enjoy ^.^
