@SiliconColt Lol similar with me on 10 I killed his weird super form thing with gil toss was amusing as hell I only did it though beacuse the party member forced in party for that fight was severely under powered focused only on Tidus,Auron,Yuna and rikku since their prolly the best party members inherently.
my favourite final fantasy game ever is actually final fantasy advanced tactics A2 it has a decent plot and it makes a point of really allowing you to challenge yourself as you had to do sidequests just to be adequately lvl'd for the main story which was still difficult like the very first fight you fight a boss that can very easily kill you even on normal.
I have played every final fantasy game but 13-2 and 13-3 beacuse 13 turned me away from them.
also quick question posting tonight? just curious
just did, though coding got weird an Leol's was supposed to have mostly italic lines. :) But you get the point.
Tera's anger with the darkness was all that she felt. She didn't want to see another innocent fall to it like her entire world had. No more would she hang back because she couldn't fight.
Now she would.
The Keyblade in her hand vanished. At her disposal was but her own body. However, upon moving she was frozen like the statues. She cold only witness events unfolding in front of her now.
Nero paused a moment as he looked over the shadow and the boy, thinking silently on the words that had just been spoken. 'Will you master the darkness and command it to flee or will you try to remove it by force?'
"... I-I," Nero shook his head, attempting to clear his mind of the now clouded thoughts that plauged it. All at once, something became clear. If he was allowed to move in this reality, he'd place himself between the child and the shadow, making sure to face the beast, either way "I will make the shadows fear me."
Moving quickly enough, he stood in between the shadow and the body. However, summmoning his keyblade was impossible now as his body was frozen in place, unable to move. He could only witness events unfolding.
Fion without hesitation grabbed the boy and moved him to a safe spot and began to prepare to fight back hoping he could prevent any dangers that may befall the child.
<Snipped quote>
Fion begin feeling like it was a test or something but still wasn't sure he also was curious if the voice that said the keyblade is neither light or dark meant the keyblade is dependant on it's master.
Upon touching the body Fion's body froze in place, his keyblade locked from him and only able to witness events unfolding in front of him.
Niinii attacks had hit's target, but he was moving towards the dark portal, he was scared but he still wanted to help. The Hume yelled for him to attack the fingers around the heart. He had made his choice, He glided as hard as he can to the heart, and he wrapped himself around it where the Large hand hasn't gotten ahold of yet, and he swiped at the fingers with his keyblade.
"I believe we can do this, Kupo..."
Her Keyblade struck the fingers, breaking them in. Quickly the hand shuttered until letting go of the heart completely. Niinii was doing it! However, the hand was not done. It retreated into the portal of darkness, throwing Niinii down.
The captured Heart remained in place, locked by the hearts conntected to it. Niinii's companions were around her, in a trance like state.
Looking back at the portal would reveal something else, instead of coming out at the bottom, two arms reached out from the top, followed by elbows, the tip of a head covered in black vines, and then the face wrapped in them.
The portal became a spring of darkness, spilling dark liquid around it. The Heartless's upper body was sticking out of the top of the portal, looking at Niinii with its bold yellow eyes.
"You've missed the opportunity. You'll just have to wait until it's over, keyblade wielder." The voice was the one from before, obviously pointing out that the others were doing something that Niinii wasn't.
The heartless reached into the air, the moon's light behind it. Between its palms a red orb formed like balls of gum conjoining. Small orbs of energy surrounded it then fell toward the center. In moments the small red orb was enormous.
"That's!" Leon's yelled, unable to hold back any more he unleashed the power of his weapon again, trying to slice the creature's body with the large magical blade. Niinii witnessed the warrior jump high into the air with the weapon rising and swung with the power of an airship's cannons.
The blade penetrated the monster's body, however it wasn't going to undo the orb of darkness that now rose far above the third district. Around them the air lifted light weight objects higher and higher until they flew into the orb.
Leon was standing back on the ground now, pulling out a cell phone.
Despite feeling the despair and loneliness from the heart, this gives Asha a renewed sense of hope. She stands straight up and challenge the voice. "I will never submit to the darkness. I shall stand firm against it. It may push me down but I will get back up and will continue to fight back." Asha takes a battle stance and activates her ravager set.
Inside her body the magic resisted her commands, once realizing this she froze in place, unable to move. She could only bear witness to the events unfolding. Her keyblade wasn't working either.
The emotions from the heart staggered Markus. The despair and the loneliness were things he had never felt at this magnitude before, even after the apparent demise of his crew. He was close to giving in when he felt Asha's heart(he didn't even know her name, but he knew her so intimately now) joined him in the void.
Then another, and another. The two boys he had met outside, and several others from the group at the jeweler's. As the void filled, it defined itself into a room, and then a courtyard full of frozen people. And as the haze lessened, so did the horrible emotions that had threatened to consume him when he had entered this void alone.
There was a boy in the center of the courtyard, and the voice gave them the same ultimatum it had made moments ago. And just as before, Markus' companions defied it. Markus recovered his composure and his stoic facade, and joined them.
"I must agree," he intoned, stepping confidently toward the shadow. Though it seemed weak, he knew there was more to it, having seen the creature outside of this strange little world. "We've all seen that we can fight the darkness." He stood to Nero's left and pointed his keyblade at the pitiful thing before them. He didn't even waste his effort with a fencing stance.
"Why risk letting something consume us when we have the power to destroy it?"
His keyblade vanished from his fingers. Then with his arm held outward he was frozen in place. Only able to see the events unfolding in front of him.
Akira stood watching the scene unfold before him. Within moments he stood next to Nero and Markus in front of the shadow hefting his Keyblade to his shoulder reminding himself of Cloud a man he and Nero once knew from back home. "their right. I lost this very world to darkness and I won't let anyone else get hurt"
His keyblade vanished, and his body was locked in place. He could only continue to bear witness to what was happening in front of him.
But then darkness covered their eyes, the boy was gone and so was the heartless.
The children were alone, separated from one another.
Unable to sense each other they would feel the sensation of falling down. They would not see anything as it was impossible to move.
However much they willed themselves to escape, this was the abyss of darkness where no one could escape.
Leon's phone rang in his ear. When someone picked up on the other end he watched the orb overhead while speaking.
"Traverse Town is under attack. Yes, I can see the Darkside. No, Keyblade Wielders are with me, new ones that don't know much of anything. Six of them are trying to unlock a heart swallowed by darkness but there's one beside me.
Yeah, that would be our best option. But I can't leave these kids here. That Darkside is standing in a portal of darkness which is currently flooding the ground. I can see the pool form underneath him, its just in front of me.
So this is what Sora fought before he disappeared? You're wrong; I am ready. The Heartless aren't going to win. I trust these guys.
Even if they fall into darkness then I'll be the one to... Yuffie you're breaking up. I'll call you when I can. Goodbye."
Leon looked over at the moogle.
"You should get off this planet before the darkness swallows it whole."
But how would Niinii flea if he didn't even know how he arrived?
Hey.
It's not your time.
Wake up.
Tera would open her eyes as if waking from a dream. Around her was the darkness but she wasn't falling. Underneath her feat was a large circular floor, extending around her. It looked like nothing she'd seen before. It appeared to be glass, with her picture on it. She was sitting on a skyscraper in the Grid. Behind her was the sky, glowing with a powerful light. She'd never seen a Sun in the Grid so it was barely recognizable.
What would you choose in order to fight the darkness? It was a soundless voice, speaking to her Heart.
In front of her three pedestals rose up from the glass. They were spread apart on the rim, perhaps 2 meters from each other.
Before you are the forms of the Heart's Strength.
The power of the Warrior, the strength of your heart manifests into the Dream Sword. Darkness is your prey, weak to your might but destruction follows you to the ends of the sky.
The wit of the Mystic, the strength of your heart manifests into the Dream Rod. Those around you will better resist darkness, empowered by your mind but disaster follows you to the ends of the sky.
The endurance of the Guardian, the strength of your heart manifests into the Dream Shield. Darkness cannot touch your Heart, protected by your inner light but hardships follow you to the ends of the sky.
Which of these forms do you give up to fight the darkness? And which of these powers do you embrace?
You will need to choose if you will fight the darkness, Tera.
Nero would wake up in an instant, his eyes opened to the glowing floor beneath him. It was a stained glass window, with him sitting at the top of a high tower back home. Behind him the stars glistened but dawn approached on the horizon.
What would you choose to make the shadows fear you? It was a soundless voice, speaking to his Heart.
In front of him three pedestals rose from the glass, spread apart by 2 meters.
Before you are the forms of your Heart's Strength.
The power of the Warrior, the strength of your heart manifests into the Nightmare Sword. Darkness is your weapon, command it and it shall act. You can avert destruction through might.
The wit of the Mystic, the strength of your heart manifests into the Nightmare Rod. Darkness cannot harm those close to you, bond with others and it shall flee. You can avert disaster through your mind.
The endurance of the Guardian, the strength of your heart manifests into the Nightmare Shield. Darkness cannot control you, for you control yourself. You can avert hardships through your inner darkness.
Which of these forms do you give up to scare the darkness? And which of these powers do you embrace?
You will need to choose if you will terrify the darkness, Nero.
Wake up. It was a soundless voice, speaking to his heart.
This is the heart station. Underneath you is an illustration of your heart. It showed Fion sitting at the top of Twilight Town's tower. The familiar dusk covered the sky.
Before you are three forms of the Heart. The strength of your heart can manifest into these forms. However, your Heart is unique. You lack true light where another lacks true darkness.
Will you manifest it with the warrior's power. You can make any foe bow to you but your allies must also bow.
Perhaps the Mystic's wit. You are a clever boy, if you can convince your enemy to back down you don't need your allies to fight at all.
Hmm maybe the Gaurdian's endurance. Protected by the strength of your heart nothing can get close to you, friend or foe.
You'll need to choose one to give up, and another to embrace. Take your time, there's no need to rush in this place.
Asha opened her eyes to glass underneath her feat. It glowed and her image was there, sanding within view of two giant crystals locking hands.
Three Pedestals were at the rim of the glass floor. On one was a sword, another a rod, and the last was a shield. They were like silhouettes covered in a black texture, but their shapes were clear.
She had the freedom to move and inspect inscriptions.
Warrior. Mystic. Guardian.
When she turned around there was a door behind her. Another inscription was there on the door.
Forsake one and Embrace one. The door would not open even if she tried using magic.
Wake up.
It was the voice of a lost friend. It was like he was there standing in front of him, but when Markus's eyes opened there was no one.
He could see three items sitting on Pedestals. There was a Sword, Rod, and Shield. They were like reverse silhouettes, glowing white instead of looking like shadows.
When he would approach one someone behind him would say
"Warrior."
"Mystic."
"Guardian."
But in each case, Markus wouldn't be able to see anyone.
Underneath him was his image, sitting in the high nest of a ship flying in the night sky.
Behind him was a door. When he looked at it a familiar person behind him said something.
"Choose one to give up and another to take." However, there was no one but him around.
"Wake up, Akira."
A figure wearing a dark cloak stood over him. Akira was laying on the ground.
"You took a hard fall, but we'll catch you."
The cloaked figure walked away. When he would turn to look there was a door there.
Choose a power to embrace and one to give away. It was the same voice as the person..
It could only belong to someone Akira once knew.
However much he tried to open that door he would only struggle.
Then when he turned around there were three items on pedestals.
A sword covered in blood, a rod surrounded in a veil of black mist, and a shield with markings covering them.
Destruction, Disaster, Hardship... these are the forms of your heart's strength. Do you wish to pursue your endeavors or would you wash away the darkness inside yourself and give up on your grudges? That is to say, could you forgive the darkness?
Niinii felt something inside, a call. However, there wasn't much he could do to answer it at the moment. It seemed he could try to do something about that Darkside but with Leon's attack it seemed too busy being knocked out. Maybe that was his chance. What could he do?
My first FF game was FF12. I got my butt handed too me by that dark prison dungeon where the mimic consumed the light and zombies were all up your ass. I put down the game and didn't touch it for a year, like i had a fear for that dungeon.
Then I played it again, and really enjoyed it through being brave.
After that was FF10. I marathon-ed that game, which is to say it took me half a year to complete it.
In that time I tried the Crystal Chronicles, Crystal Bearers and Echos of Time. Of those I only liked Crystal Bearers. However, each of those games lacked a seriousness I needed to really enjoy them.
I downloaded FF7 from steam but with spoilers it was ruined for me.
I tried ff13 for a brief window of time, hating the gameplay and having the plot spoiled again.
I used town own FF 2 and 3 but I didn't play them, knowing their value.
That's when i got a DS version of... uh.. 4? It was the one with the Dragoons and the guy turning into a paladin.
Among these games, my favorite is ff10.
Why? The music, To Zanarkand. I was moved by a videogame for the first time. I'm listening to it now actually.
Oh that reminds me, I did play its sequel. IMO it shouldn't be a thing because I loved the cliff hanger more than the assurance. However, it was nice to see some questions answered and to see Yuna as a stronger person, in terms of character development.
12 didn't get me with music, but I appreciated the world and being able to go where I wanted if I put in the time.
Oh and I did try Crisis. I put it down cause the ending was spoiled for me. ; - ;
FF made a big impression on me, one I can't seem to replicated even if I tried. All my video games I like must have some wonderful piece of music inside or I don't learn to love playing it.
On the other hand, the gameplay that irritated me most was ff10. I just need a skip scene button before I face Seemorebutts on that damn mountain omg. like i eventually said f it and threw money at that bastared, it works, I kid you not.
"At this point, our original mission objective is impossible to complete. But what we do know is that they aren't using demons. This rules out looking for them in the normal way. It makes sense now as to why we can't find them though. We can use demons to find demons, your Gallade for example, given the right resources could detect a certain demon miles away, however, this isn't the case with regular animals. He'd be hard pressed to detect it unless he was near it." Kanobu sorted through the paperwork.
"Last night they were much closer to the village than we expected, catching us off guard. Because they are getting closer, we can assume they plan on bringing another Guardian around to attack us. We've taken care of one already; however, another may actually destroy everything this time."
Kanobu handed him another paper.
Search for a man named Hisoka of the East. He will provide us a means of finding the Shadow of the Trees.
"That's our orders. We can leave as soon as we have a lead to his location. We already know Hisoka is from Lightning country so we'll search for a lead there first. Time isn't going to be something we can spare. Last night they were only so far away from us. The only thing which may prevent them from reaching us is the forest's natural dangers. Trevenant appearances ended last night but new Demons are already acting strange. The Uchiha family has sent a few individuals to investigate but we won't have answers any time soon."
"Hmm I don't think I'm forgetting anything, but do you have any questions?"
