Help, the GM is the slowest member of the cast and we need to him to post to get the Saints moving.

Nakreyya's laugh teased out a similar chuckle from Fionn himself. He smiled as he rose from his chair and spoke. "There is no shame in feeling wonder at such a completely new experience. It is my pleasure to show it to you." He gave her couple minutes longer to enjoy the view as they sped across the landscape, eventually clearing his throat and speaking again. "The flight will take us about twenty minutes and I have a few more areas I would like to show you. You should enjoy the engineering section even if we can't get to anything else.

She might not be able to understand much if anything that went on within that esoteric section but he was certain she would have a blast anyway. Heck, if what he had seen so far was any indication she might just decide to live down there if she became a permanent member of the crew.

Saef Harken
Lenuria-Giant Crabs

Of course things could never go wrong just one at a time, that would be too easy. They had to happen in pairs or trios. Or about a million at a time that all added up to one giant F### YOU. Thankfully this was one of the former.

"Adjust fire. Less volume more accuracy. We don't want to destroy the staff if it happens to be in there somewhe-####" His commands broke off as a cascade of red lightning flashed over the formation. Blades of varying sizes started appearing out of the floors and walls, slamming into shields in flashes of light. "It would appear that we have drawn the attention of an enemy champion. Cover isn't helping so starting jumping around like a school of minnows. Try to brings those crabs down carefully while I deal with our guest."

His men moved with alacrity. Many of them were now low on shields and getting shot at is always a wonderful motivator. Squads stayed more or less together but as a whole they all started moving in fast, unpredictable motions. Even with the water slowing them down somewhat it would be very difficult to perform a repeat of the earlier mass attack.

The stream of lasers had lessened but not ceased. Instead of a massive deluge the fire was sparser and more accurate. Limbs were the primary target, legs and claws. When possible coherent light also slammed into heads. Without the extra firepower of the anti-armor missiles the Heavenly Mechanized was going for a slightly longer fight. Slow the crabs down and pick them off when able.

Saef himself turned and shot upward, following the magic being launched at his troops. Another sheath of light surrounded him. This one radiated significantly less light. He wanted the extra mobility afforded by it but didn't want to broadcast his position to the entire battlefield at the same time.

Up ahead was a Demonic figure by anyone's measure. Red, spiky and glowing the orange/yellow of flames. And his aura was the same as the magic just cast at his troops. Saef raised his scepter and formed a spell within the sanctum of his mind. Half a second later a swarm of golden spikes erupted from the waters around the Thaumaturge. There were a lot of the softly glowing weapons and each one was homing in on Khaine from a variety of different directions.

Beacon Academy-Survival Class-Beryl Harken

On a sinking ship in the middle of an ocean. Grimm everywhere. The closest land a full mile away. Beryl had a wide grin on her face as her mind processed all the facts.

Was Bianca's older sister trying to get on her good side?

Not wasting anymore time the young Huntress-in-training stepped forward and shot her hands out to either side. The smile on her face infecting her voice as she called out.

"Focus on gathering supplies and see if this thing has a lifeboat. I'll buy us some time."

It was less an attempt to take charge and more to snap everyone out of the initial wonder that being in a freaking holodeck would likely induce. She couldn't be busy telling people what to do anyway. As her hands moved her will sprang forth as well, finding the holes already ripped the hull of the ship and pushing back the water attempting to rush in. It was little more than a stopgap measure of course. The Grimm continued to tear into the vessel even as she stopped up the flooding.

She couldn't hold the entire ship up by herself. It would drain her aura and leave her useless for far too long. The Faunus could buy the class thirty seconds, maybe a minute at most before they would have to abandon ship.

So many questions and not a hint of fear or worry in her voice. It made Fionn happy he had met Nakreyya. He didn't regret coming to this world but ever since arriving his chances to talk about such things had been highly limited. It made him feel like he was hiding part of himself.

"There are multitudes of worlds that create artificial intelligences. Although I wouldn't call the greater form 'unlimited.' It is more like the difference between a very smart animal and a humanoid. The former can perform certain tasks very well, it may have things it likes or dislikes. But it is not an actual person. The later is. Only at their core most of them are only minds. Without souls and not inhabiting a permanent body the some you and I do."

They reached the end of the hallway, a particularly solid and impressive looking archway before them. Unlike every other door so far it did not open at their approach. Fionn had to reach out and place a hand on the pad next to it. Closing his eyes while he did so. After a second of silent communication the door split and slid soundlessly aside.

The room the two entered was obviously important. The walls and ceiling of the circular chamber appeared to be one giant window showing the forest surrounding the ship. The floor a matte black metal. Taking up the center of the room was a set of chairs. Twelve in a wide arc with a single larger one set slightly above and behind the rest. The entire room had a smooth downward tilt starting from a couple feet past the doorway.

The young Captain resumed speaking as he made his way towards the central chair. "My ship is more than a civilian vessel but less than a military one. Hence the designation. If the Guardian was full military she would be the KNS Wandering Guardian. Kindred Navy Ship.' He sat down and a screen appeared before him, hovering in the air and slightly see through.

Icons and words flashed in rapid succession. All of them in the language of Home so it was unlikely his companion understood the digital objects. Instead of translating Fionn raised a hand and pointed out the 'window.'

"Watch."

The view outside was shifting...rising. There was no indication of it aside from what their eyes could see. No subtle shift in balance, no sudden tug downward from the increase in G forces. Nothing but the trees falling away beneath them. Already the ship was several hundred feet in the air showed no signs of slowing down. In fact it was starting to speed up, rising higher and turning to the southeast.

Fionn just sat there with a wide grin on his face, watching Nakreyya's reaction.

Justin Harken

"I'm sure we can find a McDonald's that won't mind the business." Justin said as he draped a large grey trenchcoat over his tactical gear. The guy might be unnaturally creepy but at least he had a sense of humor.

The combination of clothing was hardly going to win him any fashion awards. Fashion wasn't the point however. Eld Fen wasn't always there to teleport them around the city, which meant occasionally going out and travelling to trouble spots. Even in a car it was best not to take chances. That meant covering the collection of weapons and gear attached to the tactical harness on his torso.

He quickly scribbled "HERE" in big bold letter on a sticky note, slapping it atop the big red dot on the screen. If any of the other Saints arrived while they were gone it would be very helpful if they knew where to head. Preparations all done he turned and took the proffered hand.

It was hardly surprising that Nakreyya couldn't find seams or joints. The technological portions of the ship had been constructed using energy/matter conversion technology. "Beamed" into existence the entire interior walling of the ship could be considered a single piece of metal.

"A little of column A, little column B. Mostly B though. This vessel performs best when it has a full crew of magically gifted individuals. Some two to three hundred people. However it was designed to be able to function with as little as a single crew member, a fact I am currently taking advantage of. Guardian has a limited artificial intelligence that allows it to perform most basic ship functions with minimal input from crew members. Fly places, fire weapons at their most basic level, perform maintenance on the less delicate technological systems. That sort of stuff."

As they walked Fionn had led them into a small room with a glowing screen on the back wall. The door closed as they stepped in and he pushed one of the shining icons on the screen. The room flashed white for half a second and the door opened back up. This time to a very obviously different hallway. Whereas the last one had been clearly utilitarian this one clearly had some effort put into the visual appeal. A deep blue carpet covered the floor and the silver white metal walls were covered in what looked like intricate crystalline magical circles.

Walking forward Fionn continued talking. "This is the command section. Mostly an area for officers and higher ranking crew members. Since it's a civilian ship the designers put a bit of effort into making it look good. Helps make potential buyers feel like they got their money's worth."
@CoyoteLovely@Hekazu

"Excellent!" Fionn said as he idly waved a hand at the open bay door. It closed significantly faster than it had opened, no need for the drama this time. Outside the air around the ship shimmered as the cloak reactivated. The physical gesture was not strictly necessary as the ship responded to the mental command of any registered crew members. However Fionn had discovered that most people found it less creepy if they had some visible sign to attribute the vessel's obedience to.

A slight hum ran through the deckplates beneath their feet as he turned Grug. The orc seemed to be settling in to meditate for the duration of the trip. Never one to be a bad host he spoke up. "If you need anything or have any questions feel free to ask them. Speak your request aloud and your needs will be seen to. Now if you will excuse me Oracle, I have some things that need seeing to." He gave a slight bow and turned once more, this time heading for the nearest door out of the cargo bay.

Said doorway looked like nothing more than an archway set into the material of the wall. The silver white metal within appearing no different to that outside. But when Fionn approached it the metal split along a nonexistent seam and slid into the walls on either side. The Captain and single crew member of the ship called over his shoulder as he walked.

"Why don't we start with the bridge? I need to head there anyway, Guardian always throws a fit whenever I try to command major ship functions anywhere else. And you can poke and prod at whatever you feel like along the way. Anything that might be disrupted by an active magical aura is so heavily shielded you'd need access codes and an engineering degree to get at it." He paused before continuing in a thoughtful tone. "Or heavy weapons."
@CoyoteLovely@Hekazu

"Kindred Registered Ship." Fionn answered as he gestured to a nearby corner of the immense bay they were in. The spot he was pointing at cast an odd image. It looked as if someone had set up a small stable minus the walls and roof. "I don't fly the flag the same way a Kindred Navy Ship would, but most nations will accept a ship registered with us even if they don't recognize the make of the vessel or the species at the helm. Want a tour?"

He couldn't help but feel a smidge of pride at the way Nakreyya's eye flew across the ship. He hadn't helped design, build or majorly modify the Wandering Guardian so it was a bit silly of him to feel so. Still...

The trip wouldn't last long. Hardly enough for them to do general overview at best if she accepted. In the meantime he might be able to see if the database had any languages the elf could read. Maybe if she stayed around he would give her low level library access. If the young mage was any judge of character engineering was one of the few passions Nakreyya had left. Feeding that passion was the least he could do considering what she was putting on the line for them.
That sounds like a really helpful power to have.
