Personality :The way Theo acts, he seems carefree and happy-go-lucky in most situations. He can seem quite friendly to anyone on first sight. He’s generally unmotivated for tedious work, unlike most workaholics at the CCG who do their work out of a sense of duty or passion. He likes doing the work of an investigator, solving puzzles to find his target more than what comes next as an exterminator.
Background :A good description for Theo’s family’s early lifestyle is “modern bohemian”. Graham Pearce was a passionate genetic researcher with for the longest time nothing to show for his years of work. Jane Pearce was a successful investigative reporter, but even with her success, the family didn’t earn a fortune. Raising two children didn’t alleviate their burden either. Of course, that was until the older of the two children, Julie Pearce, got into the CCG’s senior academy, and the younger, Theo, was accepted into the junior academy. Since families of prospective investigators were paid as an incentive for application to these schools, the Pearces were able to focus more on their respective works.
When Julie was admitted to the academy, Graham was asked to continue his research with a group in Germany working together with the CCG. A year later, Theo started his time at the junior academy. He was a decent student, but similar to the rest of his family of underachievers that didn’t ever seem to reach its fullest potential, he was never number one. Being the unmotivated student he was, he’d do the bare minimum of work needed to go into an exam prepared. By the end of his first year, the research team in Germany had succeeded in turning a human into what was called a Quinx. At the end of that year, every student in the school was made to take a blood test to determine any given individual’s aptitude for the procedure. Among the highest ranking for compatibility was Theo. His father took the liberty of accepting the procedure on his son’s behalf. Before his graduation three years later, he received the Quinx surgery, to be assigned to the UK’s third Qs squad.
