Class was about to begin, Eden walked into the lecture hall and immediately spotted Eris sitting in one of the middle rows along with the light blue haired girl that he talked to right before class. "Could things possibly get any worse?" He grumbled. Not wanting to get anywhere near Eris at the moment, Eden took a seat towards the top right corner of the lecture hall. Time passed and the seats filled up. Class was supposed to have started minutes ago, but the teacher still hadn't arrived. Most of the students took advantage of this and used the time to talk amongst themselves.
"Did you hear about what happened outside the girls' dorm?"
"Isn't that the girl who meant with that boy after dark?
"Oh my god, look up top! Isn't that the boy she was meeting? Why aren't they sitting together? You think they had a fight?"
"He's pretty cute."
The sound of all the different students gossiping and talking to each other mixed into one big mess voices. It would be impossible to hear yourself think even if you tried.
The room suddenly grew quiet as an older man rushed into the room and stood in front of the class. He was out of breath, and it looked like he hadn't slept in a few days. He stood there for a few minutes before he finally addressed the class. "Hello everyone, my name is Mr. Hayes. I will be your English,Math,Science, and History teacher from now on." The man then turned around and grabbed a text-book off one of the large shelves behind him. Flicking his finger through the book, he stopped on a random page, then closed the book. Clapping his hands together, he turned back towards the class and smiled. "Lucky for all of you, it seems that we wont be doing anything too difficult on the first day. We will instead be going over Quantum physics." The entire class groaned painfully as he began to discuss the basics of quantum physics. Over the half the class seemed completely lost, they had no idea what he was talking about. Eden wasn't a genius either, but he was knowledgeable enough to keep up and understand what was being discussed.
After the lecture was finished everyone was dismissed early, but just as they started to file out of the room, Mr. Robert called out loud enough so that everyone could hear. "I almost forgot! For homework you have to write a 10 page research paper on the workings of quantum physics. You have one week to turn it in." That was the straw that broke the camels back, multiple students started complaining loudly, and one girl even started to cry. No one expected the class would be so demanding.
