SREN: B3-S4D0-Q334 Birth Name: [redacted] Code Name: Satori Race: Human Height: 5’10” Weight: Insubstantial Age: 19 Date of Birth: [redacted] Place of Birth: Wutai Current Assignment: Division Commander, Shin-Ra Knights Experimental Division Identification Photo:Here Pay Grade: JE, Grade 4* *Subject to penal compensation
Physical Description:
Close examination of subject B3-S4D0-Q334, designated Satori, is a difficult task at best the best of times due in no small part to her self-proclaimed mastery over the art of illusions and an entirely unprofessional obsession with flexing said mastery.
What we can ascertain is that Satori is a tall healthy example of the teenage human female if not somewhat more robust than your typical specimen. She stands at five feet and ten inches in height with an unknown body weight. She has a lean build kept intentionally predatory. She is pale with black hair kept long and worn in a variety of garish hairstyles. Satori is extremely vain, more so than is healthy even considering her demographic, spending an inordinate amount of time cultivating a paper-thin image of maturity. Her face still shows her age in the form of thin baby fat that given her unique physiology may never disappear; public opinion shows that is she considered attractive yet not nearly as domineering as she would like.
Efforts to keep her from modifying the standard Shin-Ra uniforms have yet to yield a result. When left to her own devices Satori prefers functional clothing that is ostentatious without sacrificing her femininity or masculinity.
Satori may appear human on the outside but preliminary observation indicates that her physiology has changed dramatically beneath the surface. While we have been unable to affect a proper close-range examination evidence suggests that she weighs roughly three times the average given her build implying an advancement in the evolution in her musculature and possibly even bone structure. She is stronger, faster, and more durable than the average human with the ability to process information that rivals a super computer. Satori has shown little need to feed but when she does her diet is entirely carnivorous and rarely seems to sleep. Whatever changes Satori has been subjected to are likely a result of her constant contact with eldritch energies and they continue to evolve with time.
It is this physician’s professional opinion that Satori either be isolated until a full and proper examination can be completed or that we simply cease trying until whatever changes she seems to be undergoing have completed themselves

Psychological Evaluation:
Satori shows high levels of megalomania. She is anti-social, controlling, and presents a danger both to herself and to others when taking unnecessary risks. Satori can and often will ignore direct orders in order to fulfill her own personal goals of which she rarely informs others. Not to be considered a team player unless given a leadership and even then her loyalty to the corporation remains shaky.
On a positive note Satori is extremely clever. She is charismatic enough to talk her way out of most any situation and an inspiration the soldiers who serve her. She shows little in the way of psychological trauma that afflicts most agents at this level, worrisome considering her past, though this may simply highlight her selfish nature. Satori has been known to grow attached to other members of her squad to the point of possessiveness.
All in all a very childish individual but one with potential.

Pre-Employment History:
What little is known of Satori's past indicates that she is one of two surviving members of a former High Family. Satori went missing after an undocumented incident and was only recovered within the past two years; she has spent time in the penal system where she made a nuisance of herself and cost the tax payers a good deal of money. It has been heavily implied by those guards stationed within that Satori only remained in prison because she wanted to.
Employment History:
-Part I: Suits, Ties, and Luncheons-
Satori was pulled from an undocumented holding cell in the Midgar Catacombs where she was contracted to immediately regulate an ongoing test for the new KNIGHT project. Apparently the president himself had ordered a faux attack on a simple corporate luncheon potentially endangered dozens of expendable executives and her soon to be comrades. Satori drove herself straight through the window after hijacking a helicopter and showed admirable persistence in eliminating every rebel possible. This turned out to be for the worst when she crippled Sapphire amidst an untimely change in Enki, the first member of the KNIGHT project, that prompted him to transform into something entirely unbecoming for Captain Shinra.
Luckily Satori and Eulogy were able to pool their efforts with the newly arrived Ghest and they subdued the monster that Enki had become. Unfortunately this resulted in a violent explosion that crumbled a good third of the office building and critically injured a number of executives; it is truly remarkable that none died.
-Part II: Welfare Rebels-
Satori learned that her precious Sword, which as it turns out is not a sword, fell into the hands of a self-serving rebel army known as the Knights of Strix. Rather than retrieve the sword herself Satori chose to send new recruit Sky Dancer into the fray. Sky posed as a gladiator and fought his way through the ranks until he had earned the trust of the Knights of Strix and their capricious leader. On the day that was supposed to see him inducted into their ranks the Knights of Strix set a trap for Sky that would have seen fight until exhaustion and eventual death.
With little recourse left to them the Knights Division stormed the coliseum in order to reunite with Sky and bring righteous vengeance with them. From there they engaged in pitched battle against the Strixian guard, the perfect cover for Satori to break away from the pack and retrieve the Sword for herself. With weapon in hand and secrets secured Satori, Enki, and Sky saw fit to eliminate the rebels down to a man.
-Part III: Toppling Towers-
The Knights returned home only to discover that the board of directors were none too pleased with their latest antics and hovering near the top of their list were Satori and Enki. As punishment the Knights were forced to harbor a pair of Soldiers turned babysitters, a light punishment at least on the surface, it didn't take long to learn that the new recruits were none other than Scarlet Breaker Solus and Juggernaut Gever. Unwilling to accept servitude without a fight the Knights challenged the legendary Twin Towers to a spar...
-Part IV: Majesty's End-
In light of their stellar performance against the Twin Towers the Knights were to be given a second chance and their first major assignment in the eyes of the company. Led by Enki the Knights were to be the first point of contact with a new civilization known only as the Spacing Guild. As one might suspect the elite military Knights were less than equipped for diplomatic procedures and despite putting their best foot forward in the form of Enki and Meteor response was lukewarm. It was then that the Emerald Knight fell back onto old habits and entered his unwitting comrades in a competition known as the Majesty Tournament.
All seemed to be going well for the intrepid Knights, despite the fact that they had been cajoled into competition against alien champions, and they were well on track to sweep the competition. That is until one Codename Meteor lost her cool and clubbed a local champion into a coma with coconuts. The veil has fallen and now it looks like the Knights have earned themselves yet more enemies...
-Part V: Secret Wars-
Satori is well documented as being perpetually apart from the rest of the Knights Division. Secret Wars tells the story of Satori’s slow but steady accrual of power and wealth. Along the way she's pursued by the officer Jen Hyuga as she hunts for answers about her lost sister Sapphire and the ruthless President Beryl...
Shin-Ra Knight Project Notes:
Altered Physiology: Satori’s constant contact with eldritch energies has mutated her body. As stated in an earlier examination she is faster, stronger, and more durable than the average human. She is capable of avoiding ballistic projectiles, and has survived at least one large scale demolition. Additionally Satori has been shown to recover remarkably fast even when refusing medical aid. While it is unclear how far Satori's advanced physiology can take her the introduction of Ether into her system has in the past allowed her to match those abilities displayed by Demon Class threats.
Satori is to be considered armed and armored even when completely naked because of this. Satori is still growing and developing, additional rises in both her physical and spiritual prowess have been documented, however she has been clever enough to avoid revealing those advances at this point.
House of Shadows: Satori claims that her magic is actually a psycho-sympathetic mutation of traditional Ether born from within. She refers to this inner realm as the High House of Shadow which only she has access to. The House of Shadow allows for Satori to both gain charges through and to manipulate things that have a sympathetic connection to her House; this includes darkness of all forms, illusions and magic, but has shown to extend to emotional responses such as lying and keeping secrets.
When left to her own machinations Satori can draw on the power from within her and inflict it on the real world, literally using her will to conjure objects in a variety of different phases; these have appeared as solid clones of herself as well as enforcing hallucinations on others. There appears to be no upwards limit on this power but the larger and the more dramatic the effect the greater strain it places on Satori. Satori may force reactions without building up a pool of charges but this places a heightened stress on her body and can deal damage to her.
Satori is also capable of co-opting and corrupting other forms of magic. Little is known about this at the moment other than that she was readily willing to compartmentalize energy Sapphire and Eulogy. If this is a lasting effect or only an immediate one remains to be seen. Recently she has shown a gift supposedly given to her by disenfranchised Verdissian Prince Shaden which indicates that these thefts may be permanent. It is worth noting that while Satori is not immediately weak to her polar opposite, it will not say cripple her, she has shown an extreme distaste for light, direct truths, oppressive amounts of order or piety.
Last but not least Satori is extremely defensive of what she claims to be her domain. Though she states that others cannot access the High House of Shadows it appears as though she must compete for resources with other conjurers, illusionists, assassins, and the assorted riff-raff who claim domain over the night. Her response to challenges is uncharacteristically violent and lacking in the attempts at subtlety that pepper her other social interactions.
House of Eternity: Unknown. Satori claims to have a second Elder Plane at her command but has refused to answer any questions as of yet. She has displayed the ability to use balefire and defensive formations of scales along her body that do not fall in line with those powers expressed by the House of Shadows.
Registered Equipment:
Cloak of the Beast: Satori wears a coat over her shoulders at all times, never with her arms through the sleeves, which was said to be woven from the fur of a fearsome extraterrestrial ape. This coat provides Satori with a good deal of magic resistance. The savage ape was born from the wiles of an imprisoned god and the lingering magic within the fur are a great defensive measure that break down foreign spell craft that attempts to impugn itself upon Satori’s person. No other known effects exist at this time though Satori alone seems to believe that the spirit of the ape still nests within the threads.
Blade of the Sapphire Night: Stolen from rouge agent Sapphire and the weapon from which she draws her namesake. The Sapphire blade is a sleek blue katana that appears to have been molded from glass. An infusion of magic has made the blade both difficult to break and poisonous to supernatural entities, in cohesion with Satori's own invasive spellcraft it is a deadly weapon. Sougyoku is said to choose its wielder and will react violently when grasped by those is does not approve of and while Satori professes to have stolen the weapon it does not resist her in the slightset.
Lil' Timmy: An overlarge handgun which Satori commissioned from the Queen of Pirates. This black device is capable of channeling her spellcraft into charged bullets in cohesion with high caliber standard munitions. On top of being an impressive trophy it also functions as a handy bludgeon at close range combat.
Name: Li’l Timmy Type: Caster Gun Description: A large, somewhat unwieldy-looking weapon, with a reinforced eight-inch barrel. The weapon is built on the proven break-frame design, its barrel pivoting downward to expose the breach for fresh loads. There are no sights on the weapon. The gun’s pistol grip features rich mahogany grip scales and treated-brass fixtures, carved with eerie shadow-inked runes that seem to writhe faintly in low light. The gun’s pommel has been extended into a beak-like skull-crusher stud nearly an inch long, while a heavy reinforcing rail under the gun’s barrel bears ten additional pointed studs for maximum pistol whipping. Additional shadow-runes run the length of the gun’s barrel down the right side, while the left bears an inscription inlaid in silver: “Before there was Light, all was Darkness.” Information: Li’l Timmy is a custom caster gun developed on commission for Satori, who desired an impressive and intimidating tool as much as a functional one. Built on the semi-standardized 35mm “Nightmare” caster caliber, the weapon spits very large shells at, generally, slow velocities, relying on the ether-charged payloads it delivers for damage rather than raw kinetic impact. This particular weapon was built to attune easily and quickly to Satori’s unusual umbramancy, allowing her to utilize her own power to augment the weapon’s abilities.
The gun bears four Materia sockets, arrayed on top of the weapon where sights would be in a normal gun, in two linked pairs. Shadow-runes graven into the ‘support’ sockets of each pair allow Satori to coalesce her power into temporary ‘Shadow Materia’, which add unpredictable effects to the primary casting stones, should she so desire.

Quaking Fire: Given to Satori as a gift by the disenfranchised Verdissian prince Shaden. Quaking Fire is contained in a hammer and gathers heat with every swing or block, believed to absorb kinetic energy in all its forms, and once unleashed comes in the devastating form known as Quaking Fire. More plasma than actual fire QF is known to bypass supernatural defenses and defy the laws of physics by violating the principle of Absolute Heat.
Wow, that took entirely too long, my apologies. In my defense however this is the first day that I've had off in sixteen. That aside I like Dhaos and I think he'll be a fun match up.
Something terrible had happened here, but that was long ago.
So long in fact that no living member of the Guild could recall the memory, so long that the only mention of it lay within the Guild’s oldest logs. But where the human mind failed the world remembered, so Shin-Ra Industries persisted. Less inquisitive minds would have surrendered the hunt for more fertile grounds yet they persisted, delving deep into the jungle world armed with little more than a flashlight and questions that would not answer themselves, and one particularly grumpy Knight.
The excavation team had set up camp several miles out from the site itself. The scientists had since discovered that the dreadful fog surrounding the area did nasty things to external forms of magic which in turn forced them to rely on their Materia. It was theorized that the Materia itself acted as a focus that kept the fog from plying the thaumatic energies apart and while that was an interesting find it also severely limited their options. Every morning they hiked through the marshes to reach the excavation site that they set up and though there was grumbling to be had everyone unanimously agreed that things were better this way. Not because of the fog or because of the strange alien predators that prowled about but because the ruins were just plain creepy.
It did not help that the civilization they had unearthed bore a striking resemblance to their own, not at all.
Only Satori never wavered and it was that determination that they had latched onto. Though she was their sole guard she was rarely seen unless they had need of her, often times disappearing into the depths below or slipping into the surrounding jungle, moving with preternatural grace and familiarity. It was almost as if she knew the lay of the land. She did, that was true, but what they did not know and what they could not know is that Satori had absolutely no idea why this territory was so familiar to her. Her memory of this world was like a bubble, a vague thing drifting on the surface of her mind that popped the instant she stared too close, and where others may have been frustrated she was drawn.
Today was an unusual day as she was close at hand, crouched on one of the steppes and staring into the pits below with a ponderous look on her face. Since the Majesty Tournament had ended Satori had slipped into something a bit more comfortable. The brown one piece was the same outfit she had worn in prison, surprisingly durable and more importantly a part of her wardrobe that she was willing to part with, and save for the addition of a few frivolous pieces of jewelry and an unnervingly pink undershirt it was fairly bland. But then again it had survived a run in with the Twin Towers so maybe she was selling the jumpsuit short. It tucked into a set of thick black boots and the sleeves were rolled up to expose a set of surprisingly well-muscled forearms. Though she was nearly six feet tall Satori did not cut a particularly threatening figure and thanks to stalled aging she never would. Even if her face was pretty it was childish with a layer of baby-fat set into the cheeks for eternity, too wide eyes, and a button nose. It was a face that begged to be bullied which ran perfectly in line with Satori’s smartest-person-in-the-room mentality and coupled with a caustic disposition that refused to explain itself often set her very high on the list of people who needed to be hit in the face. Unfortunately for the world at large she was also a master of the martial arts. Her black hair was pinned to either side of her head and what wasn’t braided had been swept up into a comb that fell to one side of her head, behind her head the hair was encouraged to do the same but in an environment as humid as this fashion was at the mercy of nature.
A white fur coat dyed red at the throat hung from her shoulders though it must have been unbearably hot and was fastened in place by a series of golden chains. She claimed that the fur had been stripped from the hide of an Ogre who in addition to deserving his fate also provided her with a degree of protection from magic in death. Whether that was true or whether she just wanted to look like a pimp remained to be seen. Other weapons and tools hung on her person, most of them tucked into the series of too-many belts around her waist, the most notable being a white-sheathed katana at her left hip and a particularly large handgun dangling from her right. There was a hammer hanging from her rear, unseen to the world, acting as a taunting last resort. Sky Dancer had sworn to run her through if she ever surrendered to temptation which was add because the elf had otherwise sworn every aspect of his life to her service. And thus was Satori ready for anything that came her way.
“I can’t shake the feeling that I know this place,” Satori whispered to the darkness. “I need answers and I’m close. I just don’t know if the company is going to like what I find.” Surprisingly enough the darkness muttered back.
