Silly me silly me, for tuttling like we could make something beautifully. And the hands of my man, dusted in bedlam and false promises --while I delved in with love abundances

Surprise bitches, betcha thought you'd seen the last of me

Bio

I think I'll come back to this relatively soon...but then again, knowing me, I probably won't.

I guess the main point of this is to say: damn, I was gone for over a year from this place. I spent a good bit of inconsistent time on Iwaku, but I kinda missed my roots and the place I originally called home.

I’m hoping to start a Justice League RP. A shorter one with an end goal in sight that I hope everyone will like.

Here’s the premise that I have for it so far:

It was the death seen around the world. Many say that --as cliche as it sounds-- time seemed to pause for just a moment as he fell. Reality set in when he didn’t rise. Reactions were as varied as a choked gasp to a slack jaw, wrought in disbelief. But the realization was the same and it dawned on all eventually:

‘The Man of Steel is no more.’

The White Martians had come from nowhere, but with fervor. Operating so precisely, the Earth seemed unaware until the enemy was at their door. Green Lantern was the first on the scene, quickly followed by Wonder Woman and Superman. Hawkgirl charged in, a personal army all her own. The Martian Manhunter arrived almost last, but attacked with an intensity that carried him to the center of the fray quickly. Batman soon came to aid, gunning for the Warship that was beginning to move for Earth.

The battle was quickly picked up by news stations as the first foot soldiers came in over the city of Los Angeles, but they were quickly met with the might over the Kin of the Seas himself. The second set appeared in the Nevada desert, over a small nondescript town. They seemed to be plagued by a blur of red and yellow that no camera was able to accurately catch. But the White Martians seemed to fall nonetheless. In the outer atmosphere, the heroes held their ground, but the slew continued. Batman steadily made progress through the Warship, hoping to end this quickly. The Manhunter relayed orders, moving the group as a cohesive unit.

But the White Martians pressed on. No one can say when the overwhelming started happening, nor when things started to get worse in the outside the atmosphere. Batman hadn’t been heard from for a few moments and the Lantern seemed more frustrated than usual. Superman became a bit more focused and the Manhunter found himself relaying orders continuously. Diana could feel the heat of an explosion as Hawkgirl brought down a smaller airship with the might only she could muster.

Aquaman held back the enemy with the power that his title held. And the Flash struck hard, without mercy and invisible to the naked eye. His flurry of legs and arms created a dust storm that he almost missed it. He didn’t know what had made him look up, but he did. His eyes could see fire, an object falling to Earth, a meteorite? An attack? It was small, but it didn’t stop burning. Soon there was a small, almost indistinctible flash of light. It hit the burning object with such force that a seismic boom was the result.

“Flash! It’s him, it’s Kal!”

J’onn! What did that mean? What was he--

“Superman is down!”

Barry didn’t need anything else, his mind put it together almost before J’onn spoke, and he was gone. He pushed himself, willed himself to move faster than he ever had before. Diana flew after Kal, a determination to reach him. At that moment, something else could be seen. Much larger, much more terrifying. The warship descended into the earth, a blaze of fire, smoke and debris like a cloud of gnats.

Things had officially gotten worse.

***

Though the battle was eventually won, there was little joy among many. A sense of hopelessness took its place for a time. What else could happen? The Flash was gone, taken somehow. Superman was no more. Batman seemed to be on Death’s door. Green Lantern had disappeared without a trace. The Earth seemed vulnerable.

It’ll be one year tomorrow since Kal-El left the world. Bruce has worked tirelessly alongside the Manhunter to make sure nothing of the sort ever befalls the Earth again. With salvaged alien tech, his mettle, J’onn and Shayera’s knowledge and others, they were able to build it.

The Watchtower. A sentinel floating over the Earth where Earth’s mightiest would keep a watchful eye over her. They’ve become wise, knowing that another attack might yield an even worse fate, and they couldn’t risk that. All of Earth’s heroes would need to stand together.

Will you answer the call?

Welcome to Justice League: The Other Side, where your hero will decide the fate of the world and much more.

------

So this is the working idea I have for the RP. The Justice League will come together for an inevitable threat that I’ve got worked out and will touch on more if I get to an OOC stage.

Anyone interested?

Well alrighty then!
So, while waiting for a character to be looked over, is there anything we can do?

Zauriel

Origin & Backstory

A guardian angel since the dawn of time, Zauriel was an angel of the Eagle Host of angels. Zauriel served The Presence by acting as a guardian angel and protecting the souls of many humans from Cleopatra to Joan of Arc. One of the most revered soldiers in the angelic army of Paradise, Zauriel served gratefully and fervently. Trouble outside of the ordinary was almost unheard of until he started hearing whispers. Whispers of a rebellion coming from higher up, the highest order.

Year One

Zauriel begins to hear rumors of the Bull Host Angel Asmodel building an army to challenge The Presence and all the other heavenly warriors. At the same time, his love for the woman he is tasked with protecting grows even more. Hoping to evade the wrath of Asmodel, which quickly turned on him when Asmodel learned that Zauriel might present a threat to his aims, and pursue his love, Zauriel requests to be sent to earth to find his love in front of the council of King Angels. Asmodel, being one of the King Angels, rejects the notion, convincing the other King Angels that Zauriel’s motives are impure and it must be for some ulterior motive, going so far as to sell out a small contingency of his own army to convince the King Angels that Zauriel is evil.

Casted out from Heaven, Zauriel falls to earth, catching the attention of a few heroes. Touching down on Earth, Zauriel stumbles across occult activity attempting to summon a demon to the realm of Earth. Acting quickly, Zauriel is joined by a powerful sorceress, Zatanna Zatara, and aids her in pushing the demon the cult are attempting to summon, the nefarious Neron, back out of Earth. Now mortal and severely weakened, Zauriel begins his search for his true love.

Year Two

Asmodel assembles a covert team of his own Bull angels in mortal bodies to pursue Zauriel, deciding that this loose end cannot be left unattended. He sends them to Earth to kill Zauriel, who is attempting to find a way back to heaven to warn the rest of the Angels, having had a change of heart. The Bull angels find him in the presence of the Martian Manhunter and Zatanna, who quickly come to his aid to push them back.

Asmodel, infuriated, sends a small army of lesser angels to bring back Zauriel. With the Martian Manhunter, Zatanna and Doctor Light to help him, Zauriel wages a battle with the angels in an abandoned highway town. The town is leveled in the ensuing battle, but during the midst of it, an angel attempts to flee back to heaven. Zauriel uses this opportunity to make it back through the dimensional rift as well. Zauriel alerts the other King Angels of Asmodel’s plans, shining light on the true evil in Heaven’s midst.

Asmodel is cast out of heaven and into Hell, his followers taking his fate as well.

Year Three

Having revealed the true intentions of Asmodel, Zauriel is bestowed with all of his abilities again. Also seeing the good of having a figure from Heaven on Earth in the midst of this rise of superheroes, the King Angels name Zauriel an ambassador to Earth, bestowing him with Heavenly armor and his own headquarters, the Aerie, situated above the Pacific Ocean.

Unable to gain the love of the object of his affection, Zauriel turns his attention to the betterment of the state of the Earth he is now served with looking out for.

Powers & Abilities

Angel Physiology: Being an Angel of Heaven, Zauriel is immortal, being immune to aging and disease. He is self-sustaining, not needing to breathe. This physiology gives him superhuman agility and stamina. His strength is also enhanced. His body still must adjust to earth over the next few years, so he still has growing to do.

Accelerated Healing: Zauriel recovers from injuries at a heightened rate. Though, as it stands, his healing still requires a few minutes to activate and a 3rd degree burn will take an hour or so to heal.

Flight: Being an Angel, Zauriel possesses wings that allow him to fly at high speeds and with his millennia of experience, he has an impeccable degree of control and maneuverability with his wings.

Enhanced Intellect: Zauriel can multi-task and processes information and stimuli at an exponential rate.

Sonic Scream, the most potent of his powers, Zauriel can unleash a sonic scream with tremendous amounts of destructive power.

Swordsmanship: He’s been wielding the Flaming Sword of Michael for more than 2000 years, so he’s got a pretty good handle on the craft along with many other ancient weapons.

Michael’s Sword: The Flaming Sword of Michael has the ability to cut through anything, based on Zauriel’s will. However, his Earth body is still adjusting so, he has trouble at times. It is also capable of shooting varying degrees of fire blasts.

How is this character different?

I haven’t seen Zauriel in action too much, but I’d like to play him as a more detached angel who is adjusting to the emotions he’s learning from being around humans. He’s been an observer for so long, he has little basis of actually interacting with humans.

What is your goal with this character?

See above section. Let’s teach this guy how to feel!

Sample Post

The seagulls cascaded on the ocean breezes rampant over the Pacific Ocean along with Zauriel, as the angel soared through the air, his powerful wings carrying him miles in a single motion. Dipping down to just above the sea, Zauriel increased his speed, creating a displacement of water from the sheer force of his speed while flying. The beauty of natural things in this world still amazed him. How things changed, how things remained constant, it was all beautiful, working in an unspoken harmony.

As he neared the coast of California, Zauriel began to rise, shooting up at a frightening speed before leveling off and building up power, the feathers of his wings almost seeming to shudder in anticipation, his back muscles flexing and tensing before he released a surge of energy and took off with a ‘Boom!’ over California, sailing to his destination: the middle of the Nevada desert.

***

Zauriel swooped down, striking the earth in the middle of the fray of angels, sending a plume of dust rippling from his point of impact. He spun around, calling the Sword of Michael to existence and slashed at his first foe. It sliced to with the ease of a heated knife to butter and the angel, losing its mortal shell, departed back to heaven.

The war of the Heavens was about to begin.
How much of a character's back story am I allowed to change? I know there are some things that, if changed, just wouldn't make sense at all. But namely, I'm referring to using Zauriel and changing his back story.
I'd like to stick my head in this for a Black Adam sheet and a Raven sheet
A groan left Makarios as he sat up in his bed, greeting the beautiful day with squinted eyes and meager smacking lips, parched for water to drink and wash away the taste of stale saliva. Placing his feet on the ground, Makarios saw the bloodied bandages he’d discarded carelessly the night before in his waste basket. He placed a hand gingerly to his side, wincing at the wound. Unfortunately, the night of the Homecoming Dance wasn’t some odd type of blur that he could barely remember. His mind replayed things in vivid detail. Every emotion, reaction, thought and moment of panic seemed etched into his mind. It prompted a few questions about his amulet that, until that night, he had been trying to push away into a mental vault. What was inside of him? He wasn’t a fool, and he couldn’t just blame it on the amulet. There was something in him that was tapping into the amulet on instinct and something in him that relished the thrill of that night.

Making his way to the bathroom of his apartment, Makarios readied himself to change his bandages again. Luckily, his workout yesterday hadn’t aggravated his wound too much and there had only been a minor increase in blood. The release of physical activity always seemed to sate his mind and the amulet, even if relaxation was the best way to let his body heal. Makarios was a stubborn individual and went his own way, regardless.

Except when it comes to you following in my footsteps.

He shook his head, dislodging the unwarranted thought that crept in to his mind. Gritting his teeth, he set his mind to the task at hand: changing these damn bandages.

***

45 Minutes Later:

Makarios’ last traces of grimace disappeared as he left his bathroom. That had been a long ordeal. But today, today might actually be spent resting and relaxing. Pulling on a gray long-sleeved henley shirt, Makarios headed out of his apartment, grabbing his keys and phone on the way out. The park near his place provided him with a sense of calm whenever he visited it. He had a feeling he would be hearing from Caleb sometime soon, something else Makarios wasn’t sure of. He could tell that Cal had good intentions, but Makarios wasn’t sure where his own intentions rested. Cal seemed fascinated by the thought of abilities while a part of Makarios was terrified by them.

As much as Makarios wanted to ignore it, he knew that his days of simply ignoring his amulet, his urges were coming to an end.
Actually, Adrian Pasdar isn't too bad of a choice for Locke, imo.

And question: is Allison supposed to be attractive?
Well, Vinn isn't even WHITE!

And those are terrible suggestions. You want someone who isn't necessarily THAT good looking. Tony ain't pretty.
I won't accept Vinn being Tony. I just can't. I'm already having enough trouble accepting $hakra to literally be Ke$ha.

And I don't think I'd really be afraid of Locke if I saw him.
