@MyCatGinger Well, as I pointed out, I feel like The Weatherman sang his swan song with this whole public sniping thing. Unless he's literally a phantom, there's just no way for anyone to realistically get away with it. Even Agent 47 would have a hard time wiping his hands clean of this one, and he literally doesn't have an identity to trace.
I dunno, but I'll probably be making a post tomorrow.

Also, fun little trivia about my personal life: I might be able to become a foreign exchange student next year. :P

That's awesome! Where are you thinking of going?
@BozoMaybe The Weatherman killed them all.
@Delta44btw, when you make your next post, feel free to assume that Yutaro follows Arty's directions and tries to take Ryoki outside.
@ViciousmarrowWell, Yutaro's problem was originally getting too many bitches. lol.
@BeastofDestiny I think the bitter irony of it all is that Yutaro is a horror movie fan... might not be watching any of those for a while.
@Bozo The ID number of the rifle would still be imprinted onto the bullet that's in Mokyu's neck though. Unless he's friends with the FBI, his ship is sunk. This kill was just too reckless for anyone to realistically get away with.
Well, the weatherman has just made MANY mistakes with this last hit, any one of which can usually lead to a culprit being caught.

1.) He attacked a highly populated area where people are coming and going. This is like the equivalent of the ball dropping in Time Square, and an international pop idol is a known guest, so somebody's bound to be filming for local news. The press will be all over this guy and there will be many potential witnesses even though he's sniping from far away.

2.) Unless this guy has some serious freaking connections, the shell left behind by that sniper rifle should be pretty easily traceable, and can potentially turn up a positive ID on his identity.

3.) One shot at a difficult angle will make it very easy for forensics investigators to pinpoint the origin of the shot and investigate where he fired from.

4.) No rain to wash away the evidence. One bootprint is all it takes to figure out that your suspect is literally the largest person in shine city. Investigators will have a narrow list of suspects to close in on.

5.) Inadvertently targeting a high-profile wealthy family. The Mochizukki family has the financial resources and thus political sway at their disposal to warrant a long-term high-expenditure investigation. This will NOT be laughed off like some random DJ's suspicions (sorry Nori). Couple this with the fact that he attacked town hall, which is presumably state or federal property, and the police are gonna throw everything they have at this guy.

6.) He chose New Year's Eve, the one day of the year where literally everybody is up and about at midnight. Use this as a multiplier for potential witnesses.

7.) From what I can tell, the M77 sniper does not appear to have much silencing. The noise of the shot will make it easy to identify the origin and will also serve as another witness multiplier.

So, in short, if this guy isn't caught within 24 hours, every officer in Shine City should resign for incompetence.
@Takashi I advise you take a look IC then ;)

If there is any way on heaven or earth to save Ryoki's heart, Yutaro's gonna find it.
Ryoki was on point as always, easily identifying Yutaro and trading blows in their oh-so-innocent banter. Yutaro was surprised to learn that the girl he had greeted wasn't a friend, but actually Ryoki's sister. There wasn't much of a resemblance, but he was no geneticist so he didn't question it, but instead decided to treat her sister with delightful cordiality; it was important to make a good impression on the family after all. Ryoki inquired about his activities thus far in the evening, and he figured it was best to explain the mishap with Kyle and Sabine now rather than later, and the two shared several laughs before he finally asked her if she would like to dance. He was certain that the waltz with Sabine, while enjoyable, would just be a prelude to the fun he would have tonight. He was curious to see what Ryoki could do on the dance floor, and even more curious to see if she was willing to open up the "advanced rulebook" she had alluded to on their last date. But, most of all he was just happy to see her happy face again after their long week apart...

Whatever Fortune has raised on high, she lifts but to bring low.

A distant crack of thunder. A warm mist. Yutaro wiped the moisture off his face to find his fingers painted bright red. Silence followed by horrified screams. Yutaro looked over to where Mokyu was sitting and his face turned white. He didn't scream, or rather he couldn't scream; the grizzly sight of blood gushing out of a young woman's neck choked his voice and tied a knot in his stomach. The warm mist on his face was blood her blood. He began to tremble as his stunned brain slowly processed the horror that had just unfolded. And than a scream brought him back.

Ryoki... he couldn't even begin to comprehend what she was feeling right now, if she was even feeling at all. Her shrieks of horror may have just been a primal instinct to scare off whatever predator may still be lurking, or they could be echoing the realization that her dear sister was gone forever. Yutaro had no idea what to do. What was the right thing to do in a situation like this? Was there even a right thing to do? His body seemed to move on his own, acting purely on feelings even more fundamental than instinct. He wrapped his arms around Ryoki and held her tight though his own arms were trembling. He cradled the back of her head, and brought her face down to his shoulder so that her eyes would be blocked by the padding of his bloodied tuxedo. "Don't look..." he muttered, stroking her back but expecting no results. "Don't look Ryoki... God, please don't look..."

He couldn't fix what had just happened, and he had no words that could calm her down. All he could do was take that nightmare out of her line of sight, though it may have already been burned into her mind. "Just don't look..."
