Lianne naturally followed Lumen to the Ryokan, shrugging her shoulders and letting out a sigh at the shown competence of the local guard. At worst, they would be obtrusive but given their skills she doubted they would be able to actually catch the culprits and obtain the bounty that would surely be put on them. For that, she could sleep easy at night.

Seeing Lumen's curtness and efficiency of action, she smiled at her remaining, hooded companion before saying "She must not be a night kind of person... Anyway, I recommend you to go to sleep. If you decide to stick with this issue, we'll have quite an early morning"

With those words, the half elf bid her good night, picking her room and walking with a graceful, relaxed manner within it to get some sleep.
"Quite a serious person, it seems" comments Lianne as she notices the way Lumen looks at the current situation... her treatment of the curious dark elf besides them and then the grim look she took as she set it upon herself to call the authorities. With a little shrug of her shoulders and an awkward smile, it wasn't long before the half elf went chasing after her purer of blood cousin.

And in equally short time, she found her before the watch of Izumo, who like usual were chasing after all the wrong problems "Gentlemen, if you worried less about ladies walking at night perhaps you would have noticed what we saw" says the half elf, hoping the dark is enough to hide her features. While she was not ashamed of what she was, this was not the time to deal with discrimination "The Shrine is aflame... someone attacked the temple. With the smell of smoke in the air, and the light of flames afar we saw what happened and moved to see if we could help. My friend here helped douse the flames with her Thauma, however this is beyond our hands gentlemen... Now, don't just stand there! Find help! Report to those who ought to know that the Shrine is aflame!"
The dark clad woman shifted her weight a little as she noticed the tone of Lumen... her eyes sparking lightly with surprise and perhaps a bit of interest. It wasn't everyday that people didn't change their attitude when they stood at the side of one of the hated half elves. Even more pleasant surprises were had when Lumen revealed her mastery of water Thauma... and put it to effect on a magnificent spell.

Letting out a soft whistle, she leaned a little closer to feel a single drop of that water fall upon her cheek... looking back at Lumen with a smile as she said "It was about a chance in five, but I really didn't expect this place to be lucky enough to find itself an Undine Thauma user... And more so for them to be a skilled spell caster. Summon Spirits must be looking over this temple... Or perhaps not, given it got torched down in the first place"

With that, the half elf takes a few steps back, to Lumen's side once again to look over the wreckage as she puts her hands to the back of her head "Who may have been the vandals? Hope they left a clue or two about their identity... This place is as far away as it can from the other nations to be a good target"

"Ah, by the way, I'm Lianne... don't mind my prattle too much? I'm used to thinking aloud a bit too much" She says with a little smile... just as she notices someone else coming to the scene... and her eyes sparkled with even more interest as she noticed the dark skin of this new arrival, raising her voice for the young man to hear "Now this is looking like the beginning of a joke. An elf, a half elf and a dark elf all stand watching a temple burning to the ground..."

"Well, young man... so far, we don't know what caused this... event. However, I'm more than a bit curious to find out... and better yet, I'm sure the authorities of the city will be even more eager for that information" says Lianne, lightly scratching her chin "Want to help a fellow long ears try to get to the root of this?" Asks the half elf with a light wink of her golden eyes.
"Quite an spectacle, isn't it?" Asks a voice of Lumen, her tone lacking in any subtlety restraint under the cover of the dark or in respect for the burning catastrophe before her. Should she look back, she'd soon find approaching at an easy pace the figure of a half elf... identified as such by the characteristic ears, a lot longer than humans yet shorter than an elf's, by her raven black human hair in combination with the slim elfin physique. The half elven woman walked in dark, sturdy boots, a light black dress reaching a bit past her knees, though slitted on the sides to allow more mobility. Above the dress she wore a hard leather cuirass and a belt from which a short blade and some pouches hung. Her arms were covered in long half gloves, reinforced with hard leather and a bit of dark metal to protect her forearm. To finish the outfit, from her shoulders hung a short cape, dark in color like the rest of her outfit, which reached just a bit past her waist.

The stranger approached until she stood by Lumen's side, bringing an arm up to shield her golden eyes of the glare of the flames as she leaned forward for a better view "Wow, I didn't think anyone in this area had the stones to actually do something this serious" she says in an amused tone of voice before turning to look up at Lumen, a small glint in her eyes "It comes to show that there are mad men and women everywhere without exception. I'm guessing you don't have an Undine Thauma, right?"
Hmmm so, so far we're all meeting by chance? May have my girl then run into Lumen if that's alright.
Agreed! Perhaps just a couple specialized abilities of the high tier level when she advances a lot, but she shouldn't have the whole breath a dedicated fighter or dedicated mage gets.
Well, I actually was aiming at having her a magic knight, in the vein of Kratos, Zelos, Raven and the like. She wouldn't get so many base artes and wouldn't get the strongest spells but she'd get to dip into both and combinations as the time goes on. It's part of her theme of duality as both human and elf, warrior and mage.
Name: Lianne 'Lily' Marzof
Age: 68
Appearance:
Birthplace: Boreas, raised in Zenterr
Personality: Lianne is somewhat boisterous and flashy person, walking with her head tall in pride and defiant of a world that seems to always bring her down. She takes the duality of her life and runs with it... embracing being both human and elf, warrior and wizard, of Dark and Lightning. She tries to help her fellow Half Elves to stand up for themselves, but has nothing but scorn for those who surrender their pride and keep their head low. More than anything, she embraces her own self and desires and wishes to become the greatest version of herself possible.
Race: Half Elf
Canon or OC: OC
Weapon: Short Sword
Thauma #1: Shadow
Thauma #2: Volt
Base Artes/Spells: Artes: Lightning Blade, Volt Dagger (Shoots from an empty hand a dagger made of electricity at the enemy), Shadow Whip (Creates a long whip of darkness to strike at the enemy) Spells: Spread Zero, Lightning,
Bio: Born from the affair of an elven noble, Lord Lorand Grailwood of Boreas and a human maid, Rose Marzof, Lianne never truly knew her father as when he heard of her possible birth not only did he cast her mother off his home, but even hired thugs to kill her. Only the intervention of a kind man in the dark alleys of Boreas prevented Rose's murder and her subsequent flight from the land of her birth. Loved by her mother, she nevertheless had a rough childhood... smaller than all of her peers due to a slow aging process and always having to do her best to hide her half elven nature to avoid bullying and being an outcast. However, such a secret could only be kept hidden for so long... after the which, the family of two had to move often. After near two decades of fleeing and hiding, something broke within Lily, which had her finally stand up for herself. Stress, fear, and self loathing of her own birth festered in her heart for too long until one day she exploded and struck out against her tormentors. A girl and furthermore a frail elf, her outrage sparked the Shadow magic within her... and enough sheer ferocity that she managed to drive off her attackers. Battered and wounded but still victorious, that moment brought tears of joy and laughter into her... and they would mark the birth of a new Lianne. Trading fear, subtlety and meekness for courage, brashness and strength, she cultivated herself to become stronger and take pride in herself... as a way to spite all who hated half elves, she would love herself all the more. By the time her mother died of natural causes, the still young half elf had molded herself into a spellsword, heedless of the 'easy' path of the Sect of Maxwell and thus becoming a hunter of monsters and mercenary for hire, cultivating a reputation to offset the prejudice against her race.
Question, may we make up our own Artes or spells?
Interested! Most definitely! Will be trying someone with a Shadow-Volt Thauma.
