In the haze of the dream world. Leaping from endless cloud to endless cloud. A place between our world, where darkness rules and visitors pay the toll for passing. Was this death? with the lights out, it's less dangerous. Here we are now, entertain us. I feel stupid, and contagious, here we are now, entertain us. Hello hello hello...

"Hello, Conrad." A voice without image. A projection of himself floating in his own consciousness as the needle pierced his skin. A prisoner of his own mind, trapped in a state between life and death, so was this limbo? An image appeared, the dark clouds parting to reveal a strange sight, it was a creature of fantasy, a wyrm-like monster with six shadowy tendrils emerging like wings from its back. A head capped like a centipede, with golden rings around its neck and spikes across its body and tail. What was this thing? A pokemon?

"Am I dead?" the question asked, unsure of where he was, nor what experience was this. But his answer never came as he suddenly found himself gasping for air as water filled his lungs. And the creature disappeared. He was naked, bathed in the fluids which had formed a hydrosphere around him. In panic for his life, his arms flailing about, eyes widened in shock as the last of his breath was fading with the bubbles. His subconscious consciousness fading as his eyes grew heavy. That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die.

The needle had burst his aqueous prison, released from the womb and falling into the void with the gush of water. Born once more into the world. Waking slowly, breathing once more as he was lifted by invisible hands and carried into the world. The antidote running its course through his plumbing, venom neutralized by a cocktail of whatever it was they made these with. Those pokebiologists were usually good at surpassing the biologists in their study of pokemon. As such most poisons produced by pokemon were neutralized by one administration of an antidote through the circulatory system. Critical organ failure however, took more than an injection of antidote. Fortunately Conrad would recover, soon enough, despite the woozy feeling in his stomach.

But now as his eyes cracked open with a groan, he questioned if his dream had truly ended. For now there was an entourage of people among him, a houndoom, a porygon, and espeon, a guy in white coat and a girl. Was he captured? Why was the city dark? What was that? A screeching cry that split the sky, a peal of thunder, dark clouds like those of his dream casting their storms to strikes the tall buildings. A golden bird, no, a shinnying one, with wings jagged like the streaks of lighting across the sky. Behind it all types of Pokémon in pursuit.

"The Grid... Zapdos" Weakley uttered to the doc, "is houndour okay?" Consciousness faded once more. He felt his eyes grow heavy, his stomach churning its contents. And with the vomiting of his acids, Conrad returned to his dream world.
I'll have to post tomorrow. I'm having a major headache I can't deal with right now :I
I'll attempt to get a post in tonight. Hopefully, if not tomorrow.
@The Grey Dust My writing isnt perfect either. If I saw a problem with your writing, you would have known it after the first post. Those not up to par so far have been informed and are being given a single chance to improve. Feel free to continue writing as you wish. I rather enjoyed your entry, personally.

Oh my last post was a tongue-in-cheek jab at my own style. But yes, if it does get too purple, do tell me. I tend to mix in terse, choppy lines with flowing ones to give it a mix of styles.

Sorry, but when someone comes off as attacking my friends, I get very defensive. I'm fiercely loyal to those that I care about, especially when I feel they are being wrongfully judged or treated. Yeah the first person can be a bit of a surprise in a predominantly 3rd person RP, but still, each perspective has their own merits, their own strengths and weaknesses. I think people be open in how others RP, because it's how awesome RPs are born. Maybe I came off as a little strong, but that's because I felt someone who is like a sister to me was being attacked.

@The Grey Dust

I never said I had a doctorate, I was merely stating I know a thing or two about writing, I'm not just someone who has ever only written as a hobby here and there. And who cares? Some may not feel it clunky at all. I certainly don't. I think it can be a bit of an eye-raiser the first few times you see it, but it doesn't mean it's a bad style and you shouldn't bash someone just because "they are the minority using it." No, that is a BS reason, and we all know it.

Your gross overreaction has been duly noted. That being said, you did agree that it is a bit jarring to see it at first, hence I stand by Natsu's evaluation. However, should she care to continue to use it, I'm not stopping her.

Speaking of styles, you folks don't mind if my posting style is more often composed in overtly purple writing, and generally string together a stream of run-ons as I will abuse the hell out of commas, subjecting you all as the colon and semicolon sit unused on my keyboard along with the lonely period button of which shall at most glean some attention once-in-a-while for moments where I decide to terminate my thoughts to which until then only the commas shall suffice and sate my needs in constructing the sentences that extend unto the upper echelons of the bearable limits in sustaining syntax to the point of nearly being mere length optimization for the scaffolding of filler material that shall give my writing the appearance of grandeur despite the lack of anything meaningful to be extracted from the pretentious use, or perhaps rather disuse, or misuse of punctuation proper.
@The Grey Dust
I think it's perfectly fine for a person to do whatever POV he PR she or it wants.

I'm not contesting that is right or wrong, just saying that Natsu does have a point that it's awkward to see a first person post in a predominantly third person roleplay. It's that transition moment you see.
Ladies and gentlemen,
We have our first One-liner.

Wow, there is so much wrong with those two sentences it's not even funny. FIRST of all, just because it's not "the third-person writing style everyone else is using" does not make it wrong. So effing what? If everyone here on the guild decides to drink bleach all at once, are you gonna do it? HELL no. SECOND of all, who the hell are you to judge her post? Unless the GM complains about her writing style, it's none of your damn business. Why you being such a judgemental jack@$$? THIRDLY, it's people like YOU that make everyone else so damn afraid to take a step into the advanced section. I *AM* an advanced writer, I have written two full length manuscripts that I intend to try and publish, AND I have been through so many high school and college writing classes I can't count them all--and got straight A's in every last one of them. And I can say, A Tattooed Girl's writing style is just fine. In fact, it is very excellent and detailed, which is far more than I can say for judgemental little @$$es like yourself usually. So you need to take a step back and ask yourself why the hell you are being such a jerk.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with writing in the first person for RP. I mix it up, writing in both perspectives. Some RPs I will go traditional, others I will go first person. Just because it's different doesn't make it wrong. That is the mentality that makes our world such an effed up place and it's crap that there's people like that here. Oh well. Don't listen to this guy, A Tattooed Girl, keep doing what you are doing.

Whoa there. You can check in your Doctorate in English Literature at the door buddy. No need to go on a burning crusade. First person is an usual way to present in a roleplay filled with third person, and a bit clunky at time stylistically when transitioning from another roleplayer's use of Third.
So um... What now?
@A Tattooed Girl What I meant is more like the following. Try and read the IC as if each post was part of an ongoing story. In this context, does it make sense to randomly shift from third to first person? Again, It is a jarring and flow-breaking shift in perspective that I believe makes everyone involved worse off.

although, in her defense perhaps the narrative is from the sole first person's perspective with omniscient commentary on the side.
