These are fantastic guys!

I'm having Lily as the youngest of the gang, if that's alright with you lot. She'd be 12 years old.
Wing it, or follow how I've lain Lily out?
Alright? I await your characters and writing samples.
Awesome, we have five players then, it seems.

Damiann, IDK where you got me wanting someone religious from. Never stated I did.
The town will certainly be fictional, I know as much as that.

I personally love the idea of a river or lakeside town myself. To givd it history, and to cement the town in place more, I was thinking..

Work on the town will have started in roughly 1912, then was left to focus on the war efforts during the first World War. Following this, the town was completed just a few months before the Great Depression, and an economic downfall. Struggling, a local man and a few friends started a Tugboat company, working on supporting local logging companies.

During WW2, the town was commendered for use as a place to store weapons and such, which lead to part being destroyed in a fire, which killed almost half the tiny town's 200 population.

Abandoned after this, the town was rebuilt in the 1960's by a rich man, looking for somewhere to expand on his own Tugging company, and to give his workers homes. Being highly religious, he had a large church built, and only really hired Christian workers, something which has remained a strong symbol of the town's community.
Thanks! I'll edit in a hider when I'm on a computer, as my 3DS is trying to remove half my post when I edit. >.>

Appropriately done shouldn't be an issue, I hope. One user who asked me about this in the IRC I trust, then there's me. If you joined, we'd be at 3 of the 5 players already.
I apologise if the image is too large, I can't seem to find a spoiler/hider option, and I'm not sure how to resize. Sorry!

Slice of Life, 5 Players in total. 5 line minimum per post. I have a writing sample attached, which can double as a starting post too. I'd prefer one from those whom are interested, too. I do not have a lot plot wise, as I thought this could be brilliant for as free-flow narrative style.

Setting: Currently undecided. It WILL occur in a small, quite religious town. The country isn't yet picked. This will be set in the modern era, so cell phones, the internet, and so on, are all allowed.

Plot: Well, this is where things hopefully become a bit more unique, I hope. There will still be a basic plot in place, but..

Our characters are all "Different" from what the townspeople may consider to be the social "norm". The reasons can vary from character to character, and do not need to be shared between characters at all. They'd all be in a small group together, bonded by the one thing they all have in common. That they are outcasts of the town's social groups.

The ages of the characters can also vary, though I'd prefer to keep them between, say, 12 or 13, and 18/19.

Romance can be used, but if so, I feel like it should be agreed between the two people playing them in advance. For my character Lily, romance is NOT an option. I only want friends or an sibling type of relationship for her between the other characters.

But, other then that, feel free to do as you wish.

Born on December the 24th 2002, Liam is the shy and quiet sort of chap, much preferring to be in the background and not intervene in things going on around them. This is primarily due to his lack of self-confidence, not helped by the fact he harbours a naturally shy nature, lacking any form of assertiveness at all. This is due to the fact the young child was often shifted from foster home to foster home, never really settling in anywhere for very long. With just one exception.

Only one person ever did attempt to help and support Liam. Her name was Rosie, and at 25 years old, she had discovered she’d never bare any children of her own. The news broke her heart, and she no longer felt like she’d ever have a family. Untill she found Liam walking home from school one night, lost and alone, scared and hungry. She felt the need to help him and took the young child back to the orphanage, where an idea struck her.

Become a foster mom.

At the recommendation of a worker, Liam and Rosie were paired together, and all seemed happy. The woman was as loving and protective of Liam as a birth mother would be, and though she’d spoil him often, she brought him up to be a loving and respectful young man, with a big heart. She even managed to get him out of his shell in public situations, an accomplishment previously thought impossible by others.

He’d been living with her for nearly two years, and permanent adoption was well underway. Unfortunately, just two days prior to the official verdict, the young woman was kidnapped before Liam’s eyes, causing him to become an emotional wreck for months afterwards, and nearly silent for the best part of 6 years, hardly uttering a word to anybody unless he needed to do so.

Thankfully after this, Liam didn’t end up in abusive or neglectful homes, but none wanted to deal with what they saw as a troubled child. They didn’t understand he couldn’t attach himself to anybody, scared of losing them like he did Rosie. They thought he was cold, unloving.

Dreadfully frightened of thunderstorms, he doesn't really like to be left alone during them, and will usually remain wide awake and terrified when alone, not able to sleep through the noise or the sudden bright lights. As such, Liam often remains awake all night, crying in fear and a need to be back with the mother who loved him.

Liam wants to be known, and identify as Lily-Rose, knowing he was born into the wrong body. To Liam, he is, and should be a female, not a male. Caught when trying on the dress of a foster sister, he was sent straight back into care by the father of the family, a strongly religious sort of person.

Unfortunately for Lily, this news got out fast. Now the centre of ridicule and bulling both in school, and in the safe house, he has been forced to act like Liam once more, much to her dismay. All she wants is to be who she truly is, and to have Rosie back, the only person she ever called “Mom”.

Despite the hell she used to experience in the "Safe house", Lily was befriended by an older girl, known as Morrigan. The two formed a fast, and seemingly unlikely bond. Lily was small and feminine, soft and quiet. Morrigan came across as loud, rough and more masculine, with a huge height difference to Lily.

Yet, they were very close, almost like sisters. In fact, that wasn't to far off the mark. They were, in fact, blood related. Cousins, to be exact.

Now, Lily spends nearly all her time with Morrigan, whom she has taken to calling Rigan. Lily adores the older female and looks up to her like a sister, and, to see them apart is very rare indeed, unless Lily is at school, or not allowed to go see the older female.

Limping up the almost empty rain soaked streets, Liam wiped away the tears from his face, ensuring no more blood remained under or around his mouth in the process. He'd been set upon by a pair of classmates on his way home from school, in an attempt to "get rid of the gay!", as they put it. He knew he looked a mess, shirt torn and splattered with mud and his own blood, a tooth knocked out. His nose had been bleeding, and his glasses broken, leaving a cut in his nose. It hurt to put too much weight on his ankle, and he was almost positive he'd dislocated it...but he couldn't face up to the reason WHY he’d been attacked, feeling too ashamed to do so.

Earlier that day hadn't gone too well either, with Liam making a fool of himself in front of his class..

/"Being born into the wrong body can be one of the worst things a person may ever have to face. Physically or emotionally. The struggle to accept yourself, and thereafter to be accepted by others.

The hate faced by others towards you, just because you want to be who you truly are within. The comments, the spiteful behaviour, the kicks. The punches.

Who you feel you are. Who you have the right to be. You all get to have that human right. But I don't. Because wanting to be a woman? That's "wrong" in your eyes. "Disgusting", "Evil"..."

Shaking with emotion, Liam's tear-filled eyes had run back over the words on the paper in his hands as the words passed his lips, hoping that someone... /Anyone/ would take the words he spoke and think again about the actions they undertook. The words they spoke. But he doubted it.

"You deserved it. I'm glad it happened to you!" A voice, deep and rough, had broken through Liam's speech, drawing attention to the newest speaker. "Freaks like you deserve it! Too bad you weren't killed!"

A few cheers had greeted this acclimation, mingling with a few "Yeah!"s or "FREAK!"

With that, Liam had ran from the classroom as fast as he could, looking to hide underneath the bleachers, where it was quiet. The rain had continued to thunder down upon him, drenching him, but he no longer cared./
He needed help now, from anybody. Spotting the salon, he took a deep breath and entered it. He’d heard some students talking about it, saying the staff were always professional and kind to them when they went to have sessions. He knew it was probably just them being kind to make more money, but…

“Help me..” Liam’s voice was soft and frightened, the footsteps of his assailants coming behind him, knowing full well that they had followed him up there. People were in here, so maybe they’d leave him be…"

Are there any LITERATE writers whom would be interested in playing a female best friend to my crossdressing male character? He is still a W.I.P, but I thought it'd be nice to try and flesh him out through writing with him. He'll fit in with Slice of Life scenarios quite easily, and will be suited to ANY personality of female seeking a best friend. From the shy and timid with confidence issues, to the abused needing someone to confide in, to the thrillseekers and "bad ass" types. Hell, he'd be perfect for a Female to Male, or tomboyish character.

Basically, remember this. So long as they love and care for him as a brother/sister, he'll be the same for them. This will NOT be romance.

Essentially, however...

His name is Arthur, and he is 18 years of age. Bubbly and cheerful in nature, he is a loving and friendly young man, who cares for, and adores, his vest friend with all his heart. He'll do anything to make her happy, even if he feels it's not the best thing to do at that moment in time, or if it might lead to trouble of some description.

He always knew he was different to most boys when growing up. He hated sports and the rough and tumble games that most males played, much preferring playing with the girls and their dolls. When it came to dress up play, he didn't want to be a firefighter or a policeman, or in the army, he wanted to be a pretty princess, or a fairy, or a nurse.

As he grew older, he never seemed to "grow out of the phase", much to the disgust of his highly religious and old-fashioned mother and father, who followed the "men should be men" and "women should stay at home" train of thought.

As a result of this, he was disowned at the age of eleven by them, and put into care.

This proved to be the best thing that ever happened to him. He ended up in the care of two women, whom had been seeking to adopt for many years. They were more then accepting of his crossdressing tendencies, and his want to eventually identify as female. They brought him dresses, skirts, make-up, etc, and made him feel loved and accepted.

Around this time, he met his best friend, and this also proved to be one of the best things that ever happened to him...

And that's as far as I got. So.. yeah.

Any takers?

Thanks.

Standing at the mirror, Liam bit his lip as he looked over his flat chest and down his thin form, to the towel wrapped around his waist, covering his shame. Brining his blue eyes back up as he rose his head, his hands moved to run through his brown hair, stopping abruptly at his shoulders. His stomach lurched as if he'd been punched in it, twisting and churning.

Kneeling down quickly, he threw up into the toilet beside him, sobbing into his hands as he knelt there, not quite having the energy, nor the willpower to stand back up and try to calm himself down at that moment in time.

Liam... Well, he was disgusted with his current form. He hated being a male. He hated his flat form, he hated the short hair. The voice he had. The fact he was expected to be a masculine wall of emotionless muscle, booze and sporting. All he liked about himself was his eyes.

After about fifteen minutes, he stood and moved to the sink, washing his mouth and face, shuddering softly. Another day of feeling like he didn't belong..

Trudging sorrowfully into his bedroom, he closed the door and walked to the wardrobe, pulling it open and looking over his clothing. At the far left side sat a zipped up bag, much like people would carry and store a suit, or wedding dress in.

Inside it sat an outfit consisting of a beautiful white dress, long, knee-high sky-blue socks, adorned with clouds and a sun. A long blonde wig hung there too, seeming as if it'd cascade to the wearer's back, like a river of gold.

Staring longingly at the items, Liam shook his head. As much as he wished to wear them, he knew he couldn't.

Being Lily wasn't allowed.

(Seeking:

Somebody capable of playing a female whom, like Liam, has Gender Dysphoria.

The plot would focus mainly on the two meeting up, and helping each other to become whom they wish to be.

(E.G; Lily might give (Y/C) his clothes, cut their hair into a masculine style, etc. Whereas your character could give Liam their clothing, do make up, and so on. You get the idea, I feel.

Can be romance, can be friends. Hell, I don't mind writing them as twins. THAT, however, will not be romantic.

Please PM me if interested. The starter is merely a sample, doesn't need to be used. Lily's personality/biography, etc, will not change. (That's up to "only person she ever called “Mom”.".)

'Society's willingness to accept.

It's a strange concept, to say the least. One day, you might be at the very top of the ladder, lording your looks, your popularity and the like over those sat at the bottom. Another day, you could be sliding down like a firefighter down a pole, while others shoot up past you, like a firework into the sky.

Some days, you may never even reach a few rungs up, sitting near the very bottom. Just above the criminals and those whom society left behind, many a year ago. I am one of those near the bottom. Why? Well... I am not as "handsome", or "brave", or anything, really. That's what most people tell me.'

A frustrated groan passed by Arthur's chapped, dried lips, the young man's deep green eyes leaving the glow of the computer screen to settle upon the papers which sat in a chaotic pile besides him, the old "Fuck it, this'll do" school of organisation kicking in once more.

Most of the papers were to do with the local hospital. Some were simply letters telling him when and where he was to go next, others a list of cancelled appointments, the few remaining papers listing medicines he needed, where he could get dressings from, and the such.

---

Eighteen months ago, the school he attended was set alight by a fellow student, though why was never quite confirmed by anybody involved with the clear up operation. It was late afternoon when it occured, with many students having already departed for the weekend ahead. Amongst the few remaning was a much more happy and bubbly Arthur. Though not popular, he had a few good friends, and was settled and content...

Untill it happened. It was over in seconds, or so it seemed. An explosion tore through the science lab. Alex had been caught in it, and sent flying.

Though he'd survived, he was seriously injured. Both legs had been blown off, and burns covered a large amount of his body. Some minor, others more... serious.

---

Moving his wheelchair back, Arthur's hand reached out to the piles of letters on his right. These were much more neatly stowed, and kept in envelopes of 10 or 11 high, from the oldest to the most recent.

Following the fire, he'd taken up writing letters to a penfriend, in order to allow him communication with the outside world. He'd never met the person he spoke with, but fully intended on keeping in touch with them. Smiling, he picked up the most recent, starting to read once more..

(This is set up to revolve around pen friends finally meeting in person. The adventures they share, how they support one another, and so on.

It can be romantic, it can be friendship. It could even be a sibling-like bond between them.

I don't mind if your character is "normal", or injured/disfigured like Arthur.)
