I hate that old proverb "Look before you leap" I understand that its a good saying and sound advice. But sometimes you just have to go with your gut feeling and most of the time you don't leap ever.

Name: Julia Vervain Age: 22 When they came to the academy: 20 Type of egg they've gotten: Gold Weapon of choice: throwing Knives, passable at sword Likes: Julia loves the fight, or more accurately challenging wits. She loves being able to joke and tease without anyone getting offended. She loves a good brain teaser and paradoxes and loves the sound of thunder. Dislikes: Large bodies of water, People who betray her trust, not knowing something History: Julia grew up in a small village where not many people even recalled knowing about Dragon riders. She was secluded and didn't much like it. When she was fifteen her family learned of her natural affinity towards fire magic when she accidentally burned a neighbor child. Her family accused her of witchcraft and Julia left. She began wondering the country and eventually heard of the academy. She applied and gained entry. (Is this okay? I'm just not sure when the magic comes into play? If not I'll change it)

Glad to help!! Yes they could do magic but they had to do it a different language. I think of was elvish. I just rember the word for fire was Brisingr. Yes it was very common. Most of the riders made their own swords and used those because riders were taught how to help use the sword
