Has the Universal Union not invented the concept of turrets? Or are most of the guns too large to mount of a swivel, or something? Honest question, I'm just curious because it's probably the one thing that stuck out at me (aside from the size).
BTW, how large are the warships of people?
Mine would be between 200-800m with Vega-class being around 675m.
Although I plan to have my ships being relatively small compared to what everyone else has.

I haven't actually thought too much on the details, to be honest. Though I've been thinking of them usually being on the larger side. And now that I'm thinking about it, it would actually make sense. The Simulacrum aren't big fans of violence, so if they can intimidate people into not fighting them then all the better.
@Keyguyperson I hate play-to-winners in play-by-posts, so no reinforcements here.

I'm just imaging your nation calling for reinforcements, getting put on hold for a few weeks, told that they are currently number 999,999,999 in a queue of callers, and then when your main nation responds it's an automated message telling you they're sorry but they are unable to respond at this moment and they apologize for the inconvenience.
The average member of the Hive wouldn't know, but I imagine the important people would at least be aware of how formidable they are. Plus they're not entirely insular; they have a fair bit of contact with the word through their port and I've been imagining them as having an entire caste who serve as spies and assassins.
As others said the galaxy is HUGE.
Hundreds of billions of star systems to be approximate. Many space NRPs failed because the vastness of this space bothered people.
That and distances to cover. I think it's better if we leave our locations in the galaxy vague.

Yeah, I'm totally fine with it just being vague. Actually, to be honest I'd probably prefer if it was kept vague. For the reasons already mentioned.
Eh, it's no big deal. I'll just mention somewhere in my sheet that my nation is located somewhere on the end of one of the spiral arms. Hence it being referred to as the Terminus.
Hey, just curious. Is there gonna be a map of any kind? If not that's cool, just figure I'd ask.

Travel galaxy. Meet beautiful men and new lifeforms. Kill some of the new lifeforms and also the romans because screw the romans.

What's not to like?

:p

Somehow I highly doubt any other race's men would count as 'beautiful' in the eyes of the Simulacrum. All that weird stuff attached to their faces and whatnot. And, general rule of thumb, killing isn't something one should like doing. :P

Oh I agree on that count. I was commenting on the fact the sexual escapades of these other human nations makes the Neo Sovs look even more weirdly conservative then I'd intended.

And then you have the Simulacrum, for whom any kind of sexual stuff is relatively rare on account of the (alien) person they're clones of not having been homosexual.

Painslaves Tortured publicly for the amusement and pleasure of the aristocrats*.

I mean, I'm not gonna say it's right or wrong, but I can understand feeding people who did shit like that to zombies.

*Lest anyone accuse me of making unrealistic villains, there are things I could tell you about slavery through the ages. Horrible things.

Eh, I suppose the Simulacrum do have that black stain of their forebears butchering almost everybody living in the laboratory they were experimented on in. Regardless of whether they were involved in those experiments. So, fair enough I suppose.

Plus you can't feel what others feel; so it's only natural you'd be violent and barbaric to others. :D
