Lost History: Lineage

History, a topic that can either interest someone or bore them to death. A subject that spans an immersive length of human history and before it. But, if you try to deviate from what is accepted as history by scholars and archeologists. Then you are laughed at, and your theories are considered pseudoarchaeology.

But while some theories might just be false, like aliens building the Great Pyramids of Giza or Bigfoot. There are ideas, objects, and even places where accepted history cannot explain or try to deny that hint at something else. A hidden or forgotten past that most have barely scraped the surface.

There are those who do try to uncover this lost history of the world. But you have not heard of them, for they operate as secret societies. These secretive groups are dedicated to uncovering this lost history. However, what they do with this lost knowledge is what divides them. Some seek power, some seek knowledge, and some seek advancement.

However, one thing that has been discovered by all who seek this ancient past, are the Descendants. People whose ancestors come from this lost past and whose bloodlines give them a power that is separate from magic and have unlocked the use of it. Those who are Descendants are coveted by these secret societies for not only their power but also their bloodlines gives them an unexplained connection to relics from this forgotten era.

The secret society called the Order of the Ancients is one group that seeks to uncover the truth and its connection to Descendants. As the group was founded by a Descendant. The Order of the Ancients, with its resources and Descendants. Try to discover the lost past of humanity and learn more about the past and what it means to be a Descendant.

Overview

Hello, and welcome to the rp. So, in this RP, you will be playing as a Descendant. A person whose bloodline dates to an unknown ancestor from the forgotten era of human history, and gives them powers and a connection to ancient relics. Your character will be a member of the Order of the Ancients, either a new member or already apart of the order. Which the rp will take the characters around the world and into ancient and forgotten places.

When it comes to your power, it can be anything but, time or mind control powers. Also it should be a hint to what your character's ancient ancestor is. While you can decide what the ancient ancestor is, I am still deciding if I should let people write it in their sheets or make it more of a mystery that only me and the player know until their ancient ancestor is revealed in the IC. Either way, your ancient ancestor can be anything. A powerful spirit, an elemental, a powerful mortal, a forgotten god. Just something or someone that would leave a mark on the ancient past in some way or would be important in the ancient past and had a power or ability that could be inherited.

Now, during the course of the rp, magical non-human races and beings will be encountered, and magic is a thing in the setting though underground, and said magic is rare in modern humans. Though character-wise the rp will be human only.

Also, I am debating letting people have side plots dealing with their ancient ancestors and would like to hear people's thoughts on it.

So that is the idea, and I am looking for a co-gm. If anyone wants the job, then either say something in the thread or send it to me by PMs.

As he sat there, Andrés heard a voice he had not heard in a long time. Turned to face her and saw a familiar face, "oh hey Cori." A smile appeared on his face, "it has been a while, yeah, and it is nice to see you. Things have been well for me." Andrés almost thought of saying something about recent events but decided against it since he did not want to spoil his greeting with Cordelia. It has been a long time since he saw her, and she looks good, as always. However, he did wonder how Jose was doing. Plus, he did not feel like talking about that right now, maybe later.

But then he remembered he was trying to get a drink and heard the barkeep talk about a menu. "Excuse me for a bit," he said as he turned to face the bartender and looked at the menu. For a moment, he thought about making up his mind. "I think I will go with the High Ball, please."

Whiskey, that is something he has not had in a bit, and Andrés was in a good mood, so why not. He is not a lightweight and can handle some alcohol. One drink should be fine, and so far, his day had been a good one.

Turning to face her again, Andrés continued. "So, how have things been going for you, Cori? Good, I hope?"

"That sounds like a plan," Intan said to the troll. Having something to travel in will help in this city, and so they do not have to walk everywhere. Lisbon is a big city, after all.

Now Intan was looking around when Tenno asked him a question. "A brothel? I suppose we could go there to find some information about the gangs. Not my choice of getting information, but it is a source." He sounding a bit uncomfortable which is strange for a shadowrunner. "So why not since I got no ideas right now. Though the Johnson did not say if the district was a red-light district or not. So I guess will find out."

Though as Intan said this, he noticed that Tenno had already started leaving and would catch up with him.

It would take some time to travel to the brothel with supposed ties to the Vultures. The two had to take a taxi, with Intan paying the fare. A brothel of mainly humans but with some metahumanity. As Tenno and Intan would find, the brothel would be in a district somewhat near the contested district, and it looked like a shady brothel one would find in a big city. Though a bit more on the style side, it looks a bit cleaner than one would expect. At least on the outside. It was called the Sliver Rose, with a large sliver rose symbol neon sign on the outside above it that was faded since it was still daytime. The Silver Rose was open with one satisfied human female customer coming out of it with a smile on her face.
