Blue Arrow had made significant progress on his aircraft while everyone had been gone, finishing the first real prototype of his hover board, which he hasn't exactly named yet. He had many more plans, but he was ready for a test flight.
He had been so excited by the prospect that he had missed the chance to go with Cassie for ice cream. That definitely put his mood down a bit. He felt like he hasn't exactly been the best boyfriend, or leader, and it bugged him. He chalked it up to being trained as a loner by his father, Green Arrow. He might be part of the league, but he couldn't be more alone. And Blue doesn't have a speedster friend to back him up.
Arrow set the prototype up for its first flight, and began putting on his high impact gear, which did make him look a bit more armored up. It consisted of lightweight composite plates and bulletproof webbing, keeping to his usual appearance and reducing friction and high impact damage. He put on his flight mask, one that helped regulate airflow and protect his face from the possible wind resistance. It was stylized after what was similar to a full faced gas mask, but shaped to his face better and it almost seemed to be based off Batman's cowl in form. He pulled his hood over and hopped on, activating the board from his wrist.
"If anybody needs me, I'll be out hopefully not smashing my face into the pavement." He would broadcast to the team over his communicator. "Also, I'd like to meet you for that ice cream, Cassie. Where can I find you?" He would ask, although her communicated was tracking her position. He had put that feature into everyone's equipment, for obvious reasons. He already knew where to find her.
The board reacted to his feet as they locked into position. He had placed inhibitors in his mask to allow him to control it with voice, and hopefully, thoughts. It came to life under him, the thrusters quietly humming to life. The stealth aspect of the board was extremely important, and he had developed his own thruster system for this project. He was extremely proud to see it actually working! He began to lift from the ground, and he opened the hanger doors as he released the safety.
Blue Arrow couldn't believe the speed he was getting. He was going over 100mph on the first flight! He was experienced in extreme sports, making this seem like a snowboard with no slope. He was able to adjust his feet and move his body to the rhythm of his flight and smoothly maneuver through the air.
"I can't believe it works!!" He exclaimed as he dived down above traffic, testing the trust power as he approached Cassie. He had a small distance to cover, and he decided to try out a trick or two, boosting into flips and twists along the way. He felt exhilarated. And he felt proud to know he could finally be as fast as the others.
