Interest Check

Story

The world has been in ruin for almost a year now. Everyone knows how it started, it was all over the news when it happened. The government was researching a new found virus that they claimed would be able to extend the life of humans. Who knew it would raise the dead as these...monsters. After the virus had escaped the laboratory the bodies of the dead started rising all over America. And what's worse, when the came in contact with a living person, that person would also become infected. The virus spread like wild fire, and after only 2 months the US government shut down.

You and your group have been trapped in the middle of DC since this whole mess started. However, you've heard rumors of a safe haven that's been set up not to far outside of DC, the only problem, you're dead in the middle, far from the city outskirts. It's a dangerous journey, and you don't even know if the rumors are true, but you can't stay in this zombie filled city forever...

Rules

1. The GM will control the "world" (e.g. enemies, npcs, environment etc.)

2. No god modding

3. No controlling other people's characters

4. Try to keep swearing to a minimum

5. No 18+ stuff

6. No extremely dark themes (killing children, cannibalism, slaves, etc.) I know this is a post apocalyptic RP, but it can still be grim without it being that dark.

7. Every day your character will need to consume 1 pound of food and 1 water bottle (or an equal amount). If they do not do this they will begin to get sick, and eventually die.

World of Nations - A freestyle Nation RP

Now that Khalor has set up it's naval blockade and received some supplies, it begins working on it's government. The nation is divided over how it should be governed, so they decided to hold a vote to see what is most favored. The vote ended with the majority decided to elect a leader who will make most of the decisions, but the people will also have a say in some things.

After all this they decide to attempt to get into contact with other nations. They have not heard from Yathon since they dropped off their supplies, so they attempt another radio transmission to gain the attention of some other nations and maybe make some allies.

Last, though not least at all, you might need to "bump" the topic per day or so as prospective members tend to look for and through the first few pages more than anything else. This all said, there is a bit of a game involved and hopefully this insight will see you further off than where you were.

Thanks man! I wasn't sure if bumping was discouraged around here, but it seems not :P

Be more descriptive with your RP as well. What do you mean when some advancements had been made? Are we referring to a new type of agricultural advancements, new energy sources, or new weapon types? The population is also an important factor when playing a zombie game. I did read that you said, "Set in the US." But what place do you have in mind? Is the RP gonna begin at the Washington DC during the winter or the Nevada Desert during summer?

I was planning on putting all that info if I actually created the RP, as I din't want to overwhelm the reader in my interest check, but it seems that may not be the best idea. I think I'll add a bit more info in my interest check ;)

Hello all! I'v made two different interest checks for RPs I had in mind since I've been here, but no one's interested! I don't know if it's because I'm new, if I'm doing something wring, or if it's something I'm missing, but it kinda stinks. If you have any tips or anything they would be greatly appreciated!

TL;DR Summary

- A classic post apocalyptic zombie survival game.
- Set in the year 2158, so some futuristic tech will be present.
- Set in the US, namely DC.
- Very narrative driven, but there will be a bit of dice rolling and skills involved.
- Decent descriptions with at least one paragraph per post preferred.

In Character Info

Try to make decently descriptive posts with at least one decent sized paragraph, and make sure you act as your character would ;) The GM will be playing as the "world" (e.g. the enemies, environment, npcs, etc.) and the characters decisions will affect the path of the story. The characters will start with some basic gear, but will have to scavenge around and find better weapons and stuff.

Also, I'd prefer if it where more action based, but there can be some soft spots in there as well ;)

Out of Character Info:

So in this setting the world has been in ruin for about a year. Zombies were created due to a virus that was accidentally let out of a government research lab. They were using the virus to research letting humans live longer, but instead it just turned them into brainless flesh eating monsters. After the virus escaped the dead started rising from the grave, and the rest is history.

Since this takes place some time in the future there will be some advanced technology, such as weapons, but nothing too futuristic (no laser canons or anything :P). Also, most of the culture and such will be the same as it is today for sake of simplicity.

Zombies will be moderately difficult to kill, the main challenge is not getting hit by them, because one bite/scratch and you're infected. If you're infected, it doesn't cause you to die right away, but it makes you extremely weak/sick, and once you do die you will be raised as a zombie. There will also be a heavy focus on gathering, you will need food/water/weapons if you're going to survive ;)

And yes, I know this is cliche, I made it that way on purpose ;P
