Current Sad to say I'm currently experiencing Writer's Block. Luckily I learned Writer's Kung Fu and I can chop the block in half with my hands like Bruce Lee

Why is the sun like bread? It rises in the yeast, and sets in the waist. Haha! Isn't that so cute? Join my RP or more puns will come.

What's the difference between a Hollywood actor and a piece of driftwood? One is Justin Timberlake. The other is timber, just in a lake. Hahathisiswhati'mdoinginsteadofwriting

Hey, folks: I've just kicked off an RP, a fantasy where you can worldbuild as much as you can adventure. So if, like me, you like worldbuilding nearly as much as writing, check out Pilgrim's Caravan

That moment when losing a character in a rougelike makes you want to shed tears. No backup. It's gone.

Current RP I want you to join: roleplayerguild.com/topics/191461-car…

Hey y'all. I've been at this for about 10 years, and I've played a lot of kinds of RP. I like fantasy and sci-fi the most, just because they give me the most to play around with, but I'm cool with almost anything. I just like writing.

Nyx and Alistair are both kind of pushed out of their situations, so they're open for interactions unless I make Nyx storm after Gellert and be all offended that he blew her off, but that's not in her character. She give him a grandiose finger to the back and go on her "merry" way, but Alistair would be.... gullible in a sense that he's a curious little monkey that would do something stupid because its fun.

I'm debating on Corra just like making an explosion for the fun of it, but I don't know how useful it would be other than to start a forest fire XD

Shertul would certainly appreciate an explosion right now, and that would trigger the fight they're all trying so hard to avoid xD
@LitCabbit

I usually do the backstory first, then work out what kinda person they'd be after that.

I always do the opposite. Because I think of the type of character I want to roleplay, and then I just make a backstory that would lead to that type of character. I wanted a peaceful, pure-of-heart, legit goodguy. So I thought of Lumao, and then I created a backstory that would lead to his personality being so kind.

Likewise, I wanted to play a convicted warrior: someone who loved to fight, but never stopped to doubt if she was doing the right thing. For a character like that, I figured they'd need to be religious (so that they have a self-justification for never doubting) and so we got Windleaf's backstory. xD

You know... I don't think I've ever tried starting with the backstory. I'mma have to try that sometime.

It wouldn't be without interaction: if she tries to stalk them, that opens the doorway for someone to noticing her, perhaps leading Lark to escape or use it as a distraction. Everything you do opens paths for other Roleplayers. Unless she's isolated totally, and she wouldn't be, others can reply.

I wasn't interacting with anyone when I had Shertul flip the fuck out in Wellborough, but it lead to Sophia saving him which led to everything happening at the gates. Just have your character do something, anything, and it is a gateway.

And Sanachan wasn't interacting with anyone when she had her elves bicker about maps, but that lead to them meeting Windleaf. They interacted with no other players, basically RP'd totally on his/her own, but it was a gateway.

One example: If she stalks, others might notice her, leading to it being discovered by Lark that she's a fae and not a child, leading to a sort of wry friendship.

It's totally up to you. Don't post if you don't wanna. But you don't gotta feel like your character is trapped in a bubble if she's not actively interacting with someone: even stalking is an interaction, when it comes to RP.

Just my friendly personal opinion, o' course. Take it or leave it.

An elf character, right?

Now it typically it depends on what sort of personality you wish for them. Cold or comforting? Bright or dull? Those factors from their experience.

Me and Cabbit are just gonna keep berating you with unsolicited advice, @Silver Carrot. I think that's the strategy here.

P.S. Edited my previous post a bit to make it clear I was just trying to be friendly :)
I wouldn't be interacting with anyone, and that feels wrong.

@Jeyma
I guess were waiting on the Nephilims and the plot with Lark.

We're working on the Nephilims, but it may be a day or two, judging from the progress thus far.

Possibly mess 'em since your character likes mischief. Or reply to Nyx.

@Silver Carrot

Seconded :P
I'm not entirely sure what Amber should be doing right now. She was a third wheel in the Gellert/Lark storyline anyway, but now she's been taken out of it entirely.

She could always stalk and try to free him sneakily. That would be fun.

I should point out: that comment of mine wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. I would just hate for this RP to slow to a stand still, that's all.

Me and all the others in the Nephilim plot are working on a collab right now (Sanachan, me and Soragoku) but our contrasting schedules is slowing the process. So it's not like this RP is gonna die at all, it's simply that I want others to have an opportunity to post. Me and Sanachan have been dominating the thread with our 700 characters
I can't post because two of the last 4 posts are mine.

Someone write something.

And you know, run the show when I can't.

Of course.

But yasssss lore expansion: I actually plan to constantly update the lore as we go and when important things happen, 'cause I do intend on having this as a long-term RP so there would history being made and then it'd be recent history; say like: "the fall of (whatever)".

I have some half-formed lore/history ideas I'll probably gradually work into posts and such, or bring up in the OOC.
<Snipped quote by Jeyma>

Hey, you're meant to at least give them a false sense of security first. :P

But for real for real, I am gonna try to be of an actual use. We have opposite time zones.

As a result, if someone asks to join when you're asleep, I can just remind them that we're always accepting and all that jazz.

Outside of that, co-GMs don't do much. It's mostly honorary and reminding people of rules. I'll probably just be trying to help expand lore or something.
Okay guys, I have an announcement:

Due to extensive contribution and service,
@Jeyma is officially your new Co-GM!

You're all fucked now!
