PERSONALITY
Mysterious, Martox is quiet and often keeps to himself. He doesn't like to give much away about himself and often holds a grudge against anyone that rubs up against him in the wrong way. He's also quite intelligent, being able to make quick decisions and decoding messages/solve problems quicker than the average being. He is highly confident in what he does, which makes him appear cocky to most beings he encounters. But, because of his confidence, he gets easily upset by stupidity or errors he makes when making decisions. Because of his past, Martox tries not to create close ties to other beings.
BIOGRAPHY
Martox, unlike most Bretons, was born in Morrowind, Solstheim to be exact. There, he was orphaned when mercenaries, hired by Mogrul, killed his parents over a loan they couldn’t pay back on time. However, they took what little money they had collected, and sent Martox off to Skyrim to live out his life. Spending the majority of his younger years in Riften at the orphanage, he fled when he felt he was old enough, around 12, to survive on his own. But he didn’t get very far before almost certain death was faced at him in the form of a troll. Just before the troll was to deliver the killing blow, an arrow burst through its skull, spraying blood and brain matter over Martox. A wanderer in a black uniform with a bow came near him, before blacking out moments later.
The man that saved him went by the name of Dahrk, a seasoned member of the Dark Brotherhood. Dahrk argued for Martox to be taken in by the organization, and eventually he got it approved. Dahrk was a skilled marksmen and taught Martox all he knew, along with other skills anyone learned naturally while being a part of the Dark Brotherhood. Also in the Dark Brotherhood was a skilled mage, who, because of Martox’s race, taught Martox all he could teach him about the art of magicka. Martox quickly learned destruction magic, and after reading about illusion magic, and how it could be used to make spells silent. Many years of rigorous training, in marksmanship, magicka, and general assassination skills, Martox started taking his own contracts at the age of 18. By 22 he was revered in the Dark Brotherhood, and feared by citizens, as an expert assassin, completing any contract that came to his attention to near perfection. But Martox had higher aspirations for himself, so he left the Brotherhood by 23 to travel all of Tameriel, going first to Solstheim to finish business with Mogrul.
Once in Solstheim, Martox quickly found Mogrul, now an old and sick man sitting on his death bed. And Martox was determined that he would die in that bed. Martox dispatched Mogrul’s bodyguards and protectors with ease in the middle of the night, where he then went up to Mogrul himself and put his hand around his throat. When Mogrul woke with a jolt, he asked Martox, “Who are you? Why are you here? What are you doing?” When Martox tightened his grip he responded, “Remember the Orihime family? This is revenge.” Mogrul grabbed Martox’s wrist and let out a slight cry, “My son… My son.” That’s when Martox noticed a small baby carriage in the corner, and remembered how it was for him to grow up without parents. But only a smirk crossed his face, as he tightened his grip on Mogrul’s throat and until he no longer struggled. The only thought Martox had been that now that the revenge was full circle. Martox then traveled to Cyrodill, completing odd jobs of mostly assassinations, burglaries, and fishing jobs to make enough coin to keep eating and living from inn-to-inn. Only a few months in to his 24th year, he was arrested for conspiring with the Aldmeri Dominion. He put up little fight, for fear of being killed on the spot instead of finding a good chance to escape somewhere down the road.
EQUIPMENT
Imperial Bow, 28 steel arrows,(taken from the dead Imperials) 4 lockpicks, an iron dagger, two health potions and two mana potions, he is also wearing leather armor.
SKILLS & WEAKNESSES
Very skilled in hand-to-hand combat, very quick and acrobatic, above adequate with daggers, and he is expert in picking locks and locating traps(very light on his feet). Also can detect poisons and create low-level poisons using natural ingredients.
He is weak to mistakes, being almost a perfectionist, any small mistake will haunt him and make him suffer more until he gets time to sit alone and think about it in detail. He also has a small fascination with scrolls and personal journals and will try his best to collect every single one he crosses, even though he only reads the journals and never uses the scrolls.
OTHER INFORMATION
Martox will hold grudges for a long time, and almost always try to get revenge, but he’ll never doing anything worse than whatever the person who wronged him did.
