"The wood's moldy and brittle, so I doubt it could withstand the pressure of metal, however rust and weak the chain has become," Kenza said. Still, she approached the chain, feeling it over in her hands and giving it a few tugs at some parts before shaking her head and looking back to the others. "Nope, still pretty sturdy. Mistletoe, the bolt that latches the chain to the wall looks impossible. But, maybe..."

Kenza walked over to the girl, checking the chain on her arm. "Wait, this isn't linked," she said, flipping the girl's arm around. Apologizing briefly for her suddenness, Kenza set about working on the chains until they clacked down on the cell floor. "Well, that's that," she said, dusting her hands off and reaching a hand out to Mistletoe as to help her up. "How's the arm? Think you could still shoot if, hypothetically, we were to be able to snag a bow?"

Picking up two of the shards and gesturing for Derrick to pick up the third, Kenza passed one to Mistletoe. "Dagger buddies," she said with a grin as she held the plate shard as she would a blade, slicing the air experimentally. The edge was a bit dull with rust, but with adequate force even dull knives could pack a cut or three.

"Alright, the door. Wanna break the tray up and try anyway? Unless any of you have a better idea as to what to do with it," Kenza said, nodding towards teh tray.

@lord of evil @lchris314 @hekazu
@toadropes That's actually pretty cool, but what about the pokes that you don't know the cries for? Do you improvise, or?

Tyrus took the blow like a Ghost-type would — with a shudder and a grin right after, although strained. “Tyrus!” Leisy shouted, realizing that her Pokemon was in fact weak to Psychic-type attacks. And Dark-types, Leisy thought with a cringe. The situation really did seem impossible, but Leisy reminded herself again that this was but a training bout. We can get through this, she thought, looking to her Gastly. But to win — we’ll try something else

“Tyrus, Spite and then Curse,” Leisy shouted [2 CP, Ghost; Status]. The Gastly immediately turned to the Inkay, eyes glowing before it fainted. Returning her Pokemon, Leisy cradled the Pokeball for a moment, wondering whether she’d pushed too hard before throwing out another Pokeball. “Alright, Naunet. Let’s start with a quick Whirlpool.” [10 CP]

The Piplup leapt into action, spitting out a stream of water that immediately wrapped around the opposing Inkay to form a whirling vortex

Apologies for my lack of messaging -- will be getting to it soon, but feel free to hit me up first (would be greatly appreciated ^_^)
@hekazu Er how long of a buffer time should we give you to react? Should we constantly be waiting, or should we just go ahead and post until you do?
@luckyblackcat Hm well seeing as the battle section is not yet done, everything is kinda go-with-the-flow right now. Thus, there is no clear interpretation of status effects, so I'd just like to use them as an accessory. Losing a bunch of CP would be fun to write though, so that's your choice. At that point Leisy would be switching 'mons anyway xD

Ella-Leisy Training Match

Pulling out her Pokedex, Leisy scanned Ella’s Inkay. Psychic-Dark type — Ghost-types are strong against Psychic but weak to Dark. Tyrus will be at a disadvantage, Leisy surmised to herself, frowning. The best thing to do would be to withdraw her Gastly and switch Pokemon, but this was a training match and not a life-or-death situation. Still, Leisy didn’t know what the future held, and it may very well hold this exact life-or-death situation like it had before with the Malamar. We’ll fight until the end, Leisy thought, looking at Tyrus for confirmation. The Gastly nodded, grin growing wider as it drifted forward towards his white-on-blue opponent.

“Alright, Tyrus. Let’s start this with a Mean Look and follow with a Lick after you’ve got the Inkay pinned!” Leisy shouted. Turning its eyes on the opposing Pokemon, Tyrus grinned and gaped its jaw, stretching its glowing red eyes wide as it suddenly darted towards the Inkay tongue first [Ghost, 3CP — Lick].

@zarkun I'm confirming your question with Balth, so I definitely am not ignoring you. But, you'll have to wait a bit for your answer.

@luckyblackcat I'm going to be having Leisy's Gastly dish out a bunch of non-Ghost-type moves, but that's just for flavor and whatnot. I'll specify what actually counts in CP, but I'm hoping the moves -- like Mean Look -- will give you some more detail to work with. I also plan on having Gastly use Curse, so look forward to that. It's technically zero damage, but I think it'd be cool if we didn't write it like that -- what do you say?

Number of Pokemon each: 4

Rewards: None

Quick sparring session that primarily serves to advance plot and train Pokemon.

@balthazar
@hekazu My main problem is hesitation since I don't know how much my/our character(s) can do. For example, can Kenza use the moldy plate to break the chain? It seems dubious, but out of sheer luck since the chain was rusting anyway?
