The Traveler is stolen, and the Speaker is gone. The vanguard is lost, and The Last City lies in ruin. The Guardians, once empowered by the Light, are brought low by its absence. This is a new and dark time for you, a small group of Guardians who find yourselves on the run on Earth following the Attack on the Last City by Gaul. Cut off from the Light, and your abilities, how will you face the challenges of a world that has suddenly become much, much more dangerous?

Kat was no stranger to fighting, in fact in her life she'd encountered and fought hundreds of different species of alien animal or plant by nature of what she did. So when a Serris careened through the air toward her, she was ready. Nervous, and definitely stressed, but ready. A brief spurt of fire and smoke erupted from her right shoulder as a concussive micro missile launched, striking the Serris dead in the face, the force slowing it momentarily. She followed up with something unorthodox. Utilizing her Suits ability to enhance her strength, she stepped aside, and grabbed the Serris by its head, then with a shout of exertion, turned and threw the worn creature away to the side. She felt a muscle in her arm strain, even with the assistance from the suit, the Serris was heavy. She'd been lucky to be able to use it's own momentum to help.

Following her turn, she switched to enhanced speed, and the thrusters on her armor flared, ready to take her to the open (open? That was worrying.) bunker.
Kaze had other ideas, though, and Kat in a moment of confusion and perhaps levity, could do little but be picked and bodily carried roughly across the sands, shouting somethin mostly incomprehensible but was something along the lines of, 'I can carry my own damn self thank you very much, please put me down.'

I promise Kat is not trying to undermine Cassius's leadership

"We'd never all make it, Cas! These things are way faster than us!"

Thoughts raced through her head and she realised that they also wouldn't be able to take the Serris head on, either. Of those who could fight and those who could move quickly.... They needed to split to make things work, at least for a moment. Her Hud tagged Zen, Kaze, and David as having the most combat power. Amber would be needed to get the station defenses running, she had the most experience with Federation tech.

"I have an idea! Zen, David, Kaze, if you can keep these things busy, Amber, Cassius and I can get to the defenses and get some firepower on these things!"

See, this is what happens when you don't do introductions for your ragtag band of intergalactic Bounty Hunter Finder club members.

Now i have to show off her knowledge IC like some kind of competent writer or something :P
I....

That's a fair point, I'm not sure she ever got to say IC, but I'm sure she'd have mentioned it on the trip over, or at least hinted at her experience on other planets.
I think that was intended as an IC thing.

Edit: also Kat is gonna punch the next person who totally ignores her background oh my goodness
One of the Serris, I'd guess.
I'm not letting my love of robots color my character's response, you can't prove anything.

Deserts had always fascinated Kat, life had to, of course, adapt to their surroundings, but the demands of a desert were so different from other biomes, and she had no small amount of respect for desert flora and fauna. Here was no different, the ground occasionally broken up by short scrubby bushes and the occasional alien cacti equivalent. What was strange, however, was the lack of animal life. Even a desert like this should have some small creatures, especially with a potential scavenging supply like the base being so close by.

Kat furrowed her brow and took a look at the base in the distance. Unpowered perimeter fences, disabled and even destroyed gun emplacements, and some kind of graffiti, referential maybe? Certainly, nothing she'd ever heard of. Her helmet snapped a picture of the words, on the off-chance that they were important later.

She froze upon Zen speaking and turned her head slowly to follow his gaze. when he raised an arm, her eyes widened, and she started, "Wait, don't-" but was cut off by the robot blasting the outcropping and the subsequent appearance of the Serris.

Don't ask the woman who encounters dangerous animals in the wild anything, no, that would be the sensible thing to do.

To be perfectly honest, Kat would love nothing more than to listen to the robot's suggestion to leave, however.... the idea of leaving him behind to face off against these Serris alone was... well she didn't like that thought at all. She wasn't really comfortable around the robot, but she could hardly be angry at him for what he was programmed for. So instead, she moved to Zen's left, and readied her Micro-Missile Launcher. She'd never encountered a Serris herself, but she'd read up on the creatures from documentaries of others.

"No offense buddy, but I don't think you can hold them all off by yourself! How familiar are you with these things?"
