Feel free to take my place, I have been crazy busy of late, I'm sure a more regular poster would be preferred :)
Been busy but will try to get a post up by tommorow evening.
well several of us have personal energy shielding if the quarantine belt goes down, will those shields provide an extra layer of protection or would the x simply bypass them entirely?
out of curiosity, do those of us with personal shield shave additional protection form the X, or are they more or less useless in that regard?
Kaiba Blader:

Gunfire sounding across the battle drew Kaiba's attention instantly, and he rushed toward the sound, drawing his own weapons as he went.

The staccato sounds, though automatically dampened by his helmet, rang deep through Kaiba's mind. Automatic weapons, likely small caliber rounds. Submachine guns, or machine pistols. Kaiba's jaw clenched subconsciously as he dashed through the dwindling chaos. It was mostly power players left, and it seemed things were escalating between them. As he drew nearer, his visor polarised to cope with what appeared to be a weaponised fireworks display going off, causing him to pause momentarily. As his visor depolarised from the glare, he made out the combatants. A Shadowy entity that seemed to morph and shift as was needed. A classic thuggish masked vigilante type, complete with the firearms he'd heard earlier. A..... she-devil in civilian clothes? A man -no, practically a boy!- clad in a (disturbingly) similar suit of armor to his own. Another, even younger man in a black suit. Finally, the young woman he could only assume was responsible for the fireworks, done up in a classic superhero tights get-up.

All of them making a gigantic mess with no regard to any of the others around them.

Several stragglers who'd been near the blast staggered away, ears bleeding, blindly stumbling around form the light and sound that had just gone off. A few of them had been laid out by the shockwave or burned by the blast itself. And the battle seemed to only be getting worse. Inside his helmet, Kaiba swore, One on one, he was sure he could probably deal with any of the throng, but as a chaotic group, he was just one more spark in a larger fire that threatened to burn out of control very quickly. And the kids! It wasn't unusual that teenage 'heroes' existed but damned if they didn't get younger every year.....

Kaiba looked on helplessly as the Battle Raged. He was only one man. An experienced, cybernetically enhanced man, but just one. And getting older to boot.

But he could not stand idly on the sides as people with incredible power used it so recklessly. He had to step in. If not him.... who?

He drew in a breath, blew it out, and began making his way to the fighting. The first step was de-escalating the conflict. Fireworks woman and Shadowman were first in line. As he picked up speed, he fired three shots, not at the shadow creature, but near enough to hopefully draw its attention. He quickly holstered the weapon, and as he sprinted past the Firework shooting woman, he shouted to her, "Keep those blasts under control!" before lunging forward with blistering speed to throw a quick cut across the shadowy arm of the creature.

interest piqued
If anyone wants to interrupt Kaiba while he's working feel free I promise he's mostly just a grouchy old guy.
I will remember this in the future and tag you less. Tagging is kinda new for me so i'm erring on the side of more I suppose, but i do try to only tag people I'm interacting with.

Kat blew out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding as she slowly lowered her weapon, the barrel still shimmering with residual heat. She glanced over all the members, making a quick head check to ensure everyone was there, before slinging her rifle and speaking up, "Hold on, big guy, Cas wanted to check over our field belts first."

She glanced over to Cassius, "I uh.... should probably go first, I actually touched one of 'em."

Kaiba Blader

When Kaiba did finally arrive on the scene, things were just as bad as they'd been reported. Bodies, unconscious and dead were everywhere. It turned his stomach. What remained of the guards at the facility were doing all they could to re-contain the situation, but it was clear they were not prepared for a mass breakout like this. Kaiba stepped in, doing what he could to assist in getting injured away from the fighting, and breaking up smaller engagements before they could get worse. He was like quicksilver, moving effortlessly through the chaos around him. It would be hard to think he wasn't a White Cape, the way he made sure to always de-escalate a situation quickly and efficiently with the least amount of harm done.

He'd never take the moniker, of course. it wasn't his. He just did what was right, he didn't need a title to go with it.

He was pulled from his thoughts by a particularly unruly prisoner who evidently was quite unhappy at having been imprisoned. What she'd done was not known to Kaiba, but the multitude of scars on the woman's face attested to the fact it likely wasn't a minor infraction. Similarly, the crackling electricity from her hands and her confident stance spoke to a woman who was very familiar with fighting. She sent a searing bolt toward him, and Kaiba's visor went fuzzy with static momentarily as he twisted away from the bolt of lightning, used the momentum of the turn to move closer, and throw a quick jab to the solar plexus of the woman. She took it in stride, all things, considered, staggering back and doubling over, but neither falling nor giving too large an opening, as she quickly sent a trail of smaller bolts through the air to keep Kaiba away. He'd already moved, though leaping into the air, and coming back down in an axe kick that drove the woman's face to the ground with an uncomfortable crunch. Kaiba winced slightly, he'd misjudged the force behind the blow, and had had likely broken the woman's nose, as well as perhaps a tooth. Still, she was down for the count, and Kaiba gently checked her neck and head for more severe injuries before picking her up and taking her back to be treated and re-contained.

He noted the presence of two much more powerful combatants a ways off but wasn't yet sure which was the aggressor, so he hadn't yet stepped in.
