Jack remained where he was staring down the kid who felt all mighty. "You are soon going to realize that you made a mistake" He whispered. He glanced at the boys glowing book, and took a couple of steps back. He knew that if they were to battle, his motivation would not last. An idea popped into his head. He whispered the plan to Mysterion, who was somewhere, but close enough to hear hopefully.

Mysterion was not alarmed by the sudden change of events. He knew that psychotic mamodo from the world before, and was not surprised that she wanted him gone. He heard Jack's plan, and for once, it was a good one. This plan was not something he would do back in the other world, but with Jack with him, he was hindered, like a dog on a leash. He floated out of the bushes and moved in between Jack and the other boy, facing the mamodo."Shamaroo!" Jack whispered softly in a shaky voice. Mysterion again wondered how this would help with that amount of emoti- Suddenly Mysterion felt a great surge of energy and he cast the spell throwing his hands up, a black wall of smoke that was as thick as a black whole, devoid of light, full of darkness. Mysterion rememberd the plan before he got too distracted by Jacks power. He shot backwards away from the wall, deeper into the forest.

Jack ran once he cast the spell, knowing it would only last about 10 seconds but give them time to get away and re-evaluate, and train more. He never enjoyed training, and he did not do it most of the time. Mysterion would always give him a look of, well, since his face was covered with a veil of impenetrable black smoke he never knew quite what look Mysterion was giving him. Jack guessed it was disappointment or maybe encouragment? His thoughts were interrupted as he came upon a drop, falling and rolling down a 20 foot steep incline. Leaves were scattered among the hill, making his fall not exactly graceful, but not too painful either. He came down with a thump, his head slamming into something solid, and he blacked out.

Mysterion caught up to Jack and saw him disappear out of thin air. He stopped, his cloak still trying to move forward, and walked more carefully. He took a couple of slow steps and his foot slipped, and he reeled back to keep from falling. Mysterion stepped down onto the hill, the foliage thick, and slid down, looking as if he were sliding on ice. He reached the bottom, his foot hitting something. Mysterion knelt down and grabbed the strange object. He pulled it up lightly, and found it was Jacks arm. He felt Jacks pulse...still alive.. he wheezed. When he talked it sounded like air being let out of an inflatable pool. Mysterion covered up Jacks body with leaves, and walked on, deeper into the forest...
Jack stopped within 10 feet of the other person. "As much as I would like to see that book be turned into a pile of ash, I think it would be in the best interest of both of us to work together. Yes I know I caused quite a disturbance before, firing spells at you, but lets let bygones be bygones." He said with a normal voice. He really did not feel comfortable with himself talking this much, but to make this plan work, he was going to get them on their good side.

Mysterion was keeping his eye on the other mamodo, for he had no interest in someone holding a lousy book. The mamodo was the one with the true power. He saw her begin to sneak toward Jack, very stealthily that neither of the humans would be able to see. Mysterion walked, but again his cloak gave him the appearance of him hovering, around the mamodo, keeping quite, not even breathing. He placed a hooded hand over the mamodo's shoulder and whispered with a quite low airy voice. "Not the best idea"
Jack breathed heavily for it was tough for him to actually use that much energy. He has always been a quite person, keeping to himself. He rarely even talked to Mysterion. He chuckled when he heard that the mamodo got hurt. His chuckling ceased when he heard a spell being shouted near the front of the forest. He saw a ball of energy sail toward them, and this time he did not hesitate, adrenaline pumping through his veins. "Shamaroo!" he read aloud.

Mysterion remained blank faced as his spell slammed into the other mamodo. His gaze fell upon the caster, then the book. That is the source, and it needed to be destroyed. He glanced at Jack, again surprised by his sudden change. He never was eager to do anything before, much less battle. Mysterion made note of this as Jack read another spell, with emotion once again."Shamaroo!" Mysterion threw up his hands as he formed a wall of black smoke, thick enough where you could not see through it. Their spell rammed into the shield, held, then broke through. Mysterion stumbled backwards his arms pinwheeling as he caught his footing.

Jack saw mysterion make the shield wall and the spell hit it with a boom. The shield broke and Jack flew back, him being weaker than his mamodo. His back hit a tree, and he gasped for air, the wind knocked out of him. Jack knew that his lack of emotion definitely played into the spell not having a huge help in blocking the opponents' one. He would have to gain more experience and control over his, well, lack of emotions to get stronger. Maybe this was a battle he should put off until later.... "Hey stop!" He yelled waving his hand frantically as he stepped out into the open.
Jack was not so sure he could provide enough emotion for the spells to really pack a punch. He narrowed his eyes at the incoming opponents, trying to get himself emotionally charged. He gripped his book tightly, thinking of his crappy life, and how his only friend is the most 'talkative' mamodo ever. His book shined this time with black light, blinding to others but to him, the spells were still readable. His heart pounded as he read the spell once more "Diadar!" He screamed.

Mysterions head snapped toward Jack never seeing this kind of emotion in the boy before. Much more emotion that he could say for himself, however. He could feel that Jack was ready to fight, which again completely took him by surprise. He raised up his hands feeling the ball of dark smoke form in his hands. This time, it wouldn't be so weak. Mysterion smirked behind the misty black smoke covering his face. He released the ball with a swish and it flew toward the mamodo.
Jack saw a ball of void energy fly by him and slam into a tree, then obliterating the ones around it. He looked to see a girl hands raise, with a spell that was just released. "Are you really that eager to fight? There is going to be one less mamodo to battle though, so seeing as you want to play chicken, lets begin" He said softly, with a blank face. Jack flipped through the pages, landing on the first spell "Diadar!" He said barely below a whisper. The book shined dimly

Mysterion made eye contact with the other mamodo, knowing she wouldn't be able to see his face, as it was covered by black smoke. He raised one of his hooded hands, a ball of dark energy forming. He shot it out, the ball propelling itself toward the house, and slammed into the front wall of the house. A light dent was left, as the smoke from the ball dissipated leaving a small black scar barely visible. Mysterion knew the boy isn't very emotional, but they would need it if they were to battle. He took a step back, hoping they could possibly run for it, and hide again.

Jack raised an eyebrow at the spells damage, or lack of. He wasn't too surprised though, as he always forgot that he had to have emotion to increase the power of the book. He sighed, and closed the book. "Well it seems that we are evenly matched" He said, again, below a whisper. He clenched his fist as he did not want to lose this early. The book started to shine, then quickly sputtered out, as Jack took some deep breaths. He gazed at the other mamodo, and her human partner. They were full of emotion, which made their spells so powerful. He contemplated something in his mind..

Mysterion had a feeling of what Jack must of been thinking. He went up past Jack, and toward the mamodo. "Let us not fight" He rasped, his voice cold and soft. As he walked he had the appearance that he was floating, his cloak dragging behind him. He moved away from that mamodo, and toward Jack, standing next to him once more. He knew they would have compassion, for with emotion comes idiocy.
Jack was walking around a dark forest with Mysterion, thinking about the incoming battles he would have to fight. He climbed a high tree peering out into the neighborhood. He spotted a girl on a windowsill of a house, and called down to Mysterion.

Mysterion heard his name, and climbed up the tree, his limbs hidden in his cloak. He too looked out and saw what Jack was talking about. That girl, that mamodo. He has seen her in the mamodo world before, but couldn't quite recall her name. He remembered her to be crazy, but strong. Mysterion was not intimidated though, knowing that her crazy side would get her killed. He huffed a big breath saying nothing.

"Well what do you think?" He asked, and not surprisingly he didn't get a response from his hooded friend. Jack climbed back down, walking out of the forest and toward the house, Mysterion lingering behind him. He sure wasn't going to come out guns blazing, but he had an idea.

Jack smirked and followed Jade up. He smelled the others, and they smelled bad. "So what kind of name is Jack? Sounds like a guy's name." He said
