Cusco Cathedral, Interior

"Another glass of wine."

Lounging in an oversized chair that stood in the back of the Cathedral, right leg crossed over the left with an empty glass in her hand, a young-looking girl cast a dull glance at the priest before her. The priest was clearly at least somewhat on edge. It would be stranger if he were not, though. The temperament of this being, Servant Ruler, was unexpected to say the least. Really, the priest wondered why someone of as little importance as him had been sent to oversee the war. This wasn't some filthy Eastern ritual; it was occurring in the middle of land that the Church claimed domain after. Surely they could have sent a Burial Agent or a Knight-Captain, someone actually able to keep up with Servants if hostilities broke out. Instead, they had sent him, and now...

"Why are you just standing there?! Another glass!"

The priest, Father Dominici, jolted up as the order was barked out, hastily grabbing the nearby wine bottle and pouring into the glass. Apparently satisfied, Ruler leaned back in her seat, letting out a slight sigh before taking a sip.

"Aah, thank you, Lord, for giving us this beauty." She hummed. "Well anyway, keep an eye on that spirit board of yours today. Hedging my bets that they'll start getting summoned today." The Servant commented idly, letting out a slight yawn. "Also, any updates?"

The priest shook his head in reply. "No, I've checked on what Masters I could gather information on, but none are suspicious to that degree." He replied.

It should be noted that there are two cases in which a Ruler will be summoned. The first case is when a Ruler is summoned due to the Holy Grail War taking place in an extremely peculiar form and an unknown number of consequences would come about as a result. In other words, this refers to cases when the central pillar of the ritual, the Holy Grail, deems that the Servant Ruler, who is under no one’s control, is needed in this ritual. Given the nature of this Grail War, this is likely the cause. However, there is a second one that cannot yet be ignored.

-The other case is where there is a possibility that distortions will appear in the world due to the effects of the Holy Grail War.

"Keep looking. We're not taking any risks. I'm not going to leave any factor unaddressed, especially not here. If some idiot decides that they want to use a wish to wake up that, then this world would probably end. Even I wouldn't be able to scratch it."

"...understood."

As a Master, you have come to this city in pursuit of the 727th Holy Grail and prospective position as Second Owner of Cusco. As a result, there is only one path to follow: the destruction of all Masters other than yourself. All alliances that you forge are fragile, ready to shatter at the slightest touch.

The Masters have arrived in the city on this day, and each of them must summon their Servant should they have any intent of surviving the day. In Cusco, there are four fallen leylines. Given this status, these areas are likely to be the goals of many of the magi; after all, any competent magus would view these four locations as the ideal ones for a base of operations.

The Cathedral, a grand location overseen by those appointed by the Holy Church and Holy Grail. The Qurikancha to the southeast, with a vast history engraved into its nature. The Plaza San Francisco, as conspicuous a location as there can feasibly be. The San Cristobal Church to the Northwest, bearing remnants of a time long-since passed.

So go forth, fight for your goal of that omnipotent cup which can grant any wish.

Perhaps this time, a miracle will occur.
As a heads-up, since we have a few pairs ready to go and another couple that should be in the same situation by tomorrow, I'll be starting the IC in about two and a half hours. If you have any complaints with this, PM me.
GM cleared it, its done.

I, like hatakekuro, will play along with it, and hope that the IC will clear it up.

I appreciate that.
LET'S GO AHEAD

<Snipped quote by Player 2>

Okay, re-reading.

Summoned- no apparent time limit, so could be instantaneous.

It's a Noble Phantasm.

No apparent cost- how much is comsumed? What does it take to summon it up?

It's a Noble Phantasm.

Destroyes Magic- literaly insta-killing/destroying anything done by gods, before the age of man, just with its mere precence. (I think heaven and hell qualify)

Giving it too much credit.

Effectivly immune to the actions of heroes from before the age of man

Okay, so...fuck. Herc-level defence.

Not what that means.

Only can be defeated by man though human efforts. Oh, looky here. A...weakness? So...uhh a Master with a gun could destroy it? Good news but...

Stronger, faster, more durable then most individual servents, by an order of magnatude. Tell me, when was the last time bullets ever bothered a Servent? When was the last time the Master took out a Servent? They can't. Physicaly can't.

Because Heroic Spirits aren't the collective sum of mankind's imagination, right?

It's not like heroes kill monsters.

No mention of controllability.

It's not controllable.

No mention of its intelligence, no mention of it's appearance, does it bite? Claw? Spit? ...Poop?

Reread.

You're overestimating Rider as a Servant, and the beast as a threat, by far.

I want you to calm down for a second, and think about this.

I haven't allowed Masters as strong as Dead Apostles for balancing.

I banned Nursery Rhyme for balancing.

I have said, several times, that this beast has weaknesses easily exploited by several of the Servants here. Technically speaking, regardless of whether they're fighting Pellinore with the beast or Pellinore with the castle, I can think of ways for every Servant in this war to win, and that's if they don't even do the rational thing and coalition.

Do not let your innate perception skew your decision-making.

Think about what this means. Think about what I've said. Think about what the Servants everyone has can do.

I'm going to be completely honest: When you insist that something is broken when I have explained that it is balanced and that every RPer here has a way of killing it with minimal losses, it is an insult to me as a GM. Please, take a step back and do as you said you would do.

Edit: These are just my opinions. If GM says so, then that is end of story. I wont argue further.
Crimson Raven
Requires a servant of the age of man or a modern day human to kill that, which even then is hardly a weakness because is strong enough on its own right to take down high leveled servants of the age of man and a human killing it? I think very few masters can bring it down.

If a Master is fighting it, they'll die.

That said, plenty of Servants can beat it. Even some Age of Gods Servants can beat it. Even Servants who "should" be countered by it can beat it too, if they employ a certain method.

Trust me, there are plenty of ways to beat it.
<Snipped quote by Certainly>

But Questing Beast seems to be more definitive that all mysteries are useless against it...Really, the only weakness that this weapon has is that it would a human master to kill it, but even then that seems extremely unlikely.

You're giving it more credit than it deserves.
<Snipped quote by Unoedipal>

Oh I meant like how the resistances work. I'm sure the beast wouldn't have the exponential growth the snark has

It's not like a Ploy, no, but the Questing Beast and Ploys do share some weaknesses. That's all I'll say on the matter since it's the sort of thing you should try and work out on your own, and I don't know if Player 2 realizes that it's a weakness either.
<Snipped quote by Certainly>

Right, then how are we gonna plan on settling these battle of concepts? Seems like there's no definite answer to them.

That's what I'm here for.

The answer's there, just look for it. Interaction between powers is a lot more fun than two ships passing in the night.

You're also free to argue for your viewpoint on why your concept should win. That's part of the fun too.
<Snipped quote by Unoedipal>

Plenty. Right. Two characters, both of which have the capacity to 1 hit K.O. Dante would not work.

<Snipped quote by Unoedipal>

Not fair? How? Everyone else has their weaknesses plastered on their Character sheets.

Dante would work, you're just misunderstanding the NP. There are also others who conditionally counter it that weren't mentioned.

It's not fair since the weakness is in the sheet, you just need to look for it. Figuring out how to beat a Servant is half the fun, if I tell you what to do to kill Pellinore then how is that fair?
Does the questing beast work like flat snark?

If it was the Snark then the war would end in three hours and I would have banned it within ten seconds of it being apped.
