@Uruvion I didn't mean to try to neglect your character's abilities, I just thought having a more detailed environment (even if the map was text based descriptions via Colt) would be nice. Sorry about that.

That was more of a joke. I didn't mean to offend, and I'm sorry if I did.
Not to delve too much into spoiler territory, but would Lumenaria or any other characters be capable of acquiring a crude map of the Magicite Mine? Or are we mapping it as we go?

Having a crude map might be nice for adventuring in daily.

I think that one of Galren's jobs is to 'be the map' by studying, and 'feeling' the land around him, buuut if you want a paper copy, suit yourself.
lol@SiliconColt thats some high class poetry there also I loved rikku! granted she was annoying at times, but I stilled liked having her around for the constant fun she brought most of the time.

I just liked the fact that she could dismantle a robot with one attack.
maybe a giant badger O_O?

That's what I was thinking, too.
I hope that my CS is ok. Let me know if anything needs to be changed.
Name: Galren Firelight
Race: Human
Age: Appears to be in his mid 50's

Job: Geomancer. A master of terrain, able to go virtually anywhere in the world without harm from the environment. The exclusion is that he cannot walk on water.

Stun: Depending on the terrain that he's around, his most available skill is the ability to magically raise bounders from the ground, and hurl them at his opponents, stunning them, or knocking them unconscious.

Strike: (See above)

Defense: It depends on the terrain around him.
Desert: Slamming his staff into the ground, he can quickly summon a shield of thick, rotating sand to shield himself, or allies. The downside to this is that the once shielded cannot see, or act towards their opponent while shielded.
Forest: He can summon the roots of the nearby trees to shield and protect himself, or nearby allies, same downside as the sand shield, though if the one that's being protected wishes to act, they can break out of the shield, at their own risk.
Nearly all other places: He can summon fragments of the earth itself to erupt out of the ground near the one(s) being protected, creating a wall of earth between the person being shielded, and their attacker.

Disable:
Desert: Quicksand, sinking his opponents and rendering them unable to move, can be amplified to completely submerge and kill opponents.
Forest: He can cause the grass and roots around his opponents to grow wildly, and rapidly, trapping his opponents and rendering them unable to move.
Mountains: Depending on the steepness of the terrain, he can slam his staff into the ground, chanting a few words, and causing an avalanche. The downside this is that while he is able to cause the avalanche, he is unable to control where the debris falls.
In the vicinity of a lake, or ocean: He can create a tidal wave, capable of knocking his opponents off their feet, or slamming them into the nearest bounder, or tree.

Enable: While chanting a small prayer to the winds, he can call upon them to enhance his movements, or the movements of his allies, making sword swings cut twice as deep, and physical spells hit with more power.

Skill: He has a deep knowledge of the terrain around the world, and can enable party members to go with ease to places that they previously couldn't.

Favorite quote: "To call out to the planet, and hear an answer back. That's what it is to be a Geomancer"

Story:

Growing up in the forest village of Masa, near Fay Mau, Galren was always getting into trouble. He frequently got scolded for going places that he wasn't supposed to go. When he was 13 years old, he started training with a sword, which only caused him to get cuts, bruises, and sore arms. He had no natural skill, and no amount of practice would change his abilities with the blade, though he never put much effort into it.

He picked up the bow, nocking an arrow, and releasing it, not only missing his target, but injuring the inside of his arm from the bowstring.

Galren next tried to use a spear, which was too big for him. He put all of his weight into his first thrust, resulting in him falling over into the mud.

He tried his hand at magic, being taught by some of the village elders. This seemed to come more naturally to him than training with traditional weapons. They saw magic potential in him, though in which school of magic was unknown. He tried black magic, hurling fire at a straw dummy, but only ended up burning his hand, and part of the robe that he was wearing, causing him to stomp around to try and put himself out.

He was brought out to a freshly injured villager, a small cut on her arm from grazing against a sharp branch. Galren closed his eyes, concentrating on healing the wound. All that happened, was a small flicker of healing light appeared over the wound, and then faded away. He tried again with the same result.

He was nearly in tears. It seemed that he wasn't good at anything that the village could teach him.

A few weeks after his magic training, he was walking alone in the woods, some distance away from the village. A pack of wild dogs decided that he looked like easy prey. They startled him as they approached, quickly surrounding him. Galren looked around, but there was no one to help him. He was there, unarmed, and unskilled in the use of magic. He said a small prayer in his head. "Please...Someone help!" he thought.

Just as his thought finished, one of the dogs in front of him lunged towards the boy. Galren crossed his arms in front of his face to protect himself, closing his eyes, preparing to be torn to sheds by these beasts. A large shadow was cast over the boy. It took a second, or two, to realize that he was no longer being attacked. He slowly opened his eyes to reveal a wall of earth had risen between himself and the dogs, protecting him. He couldn't believe it. Had someone answered his prayer? His heart was still racing, but all he could think of this new opportunity was to run with it. He clenched his fist in front of him, and the wall began to crumble as he did. He didn't know what degree of control that he had over this, or if it was a single instance of divine intervention, but he threw his arm out, scattering pieces of the crumbling wall towards each of the dogs, stunning a few, killing one, and making the rest flee for their lives.

Was this his gift? Was this what he was meant to do?

For a while, it was only during intense emotional moments that he was able to replicate what he had done in the forest, but with years of practice, he could hear the planet's voice more clearly, guiding him, and teaching him.

He wanted to know more, he wanted to see what he was capable of with this new skill.

Now nearing his mid-50's, he had traveled the world, been atop mountains, endless deserts, and thick forests, all in search of knowledge. It seemed that he was being constantly guided by the planet. He didn't know his fate, but he knew that the planet would never lead him astray.

The planet's voice was subtle, but he knew where he should go. It was leading him towards the kingdom of Navire, though it was still a few days walk to his destination. "Magicite" a word that he's heard before, but never something that he'd seen. It always intrigued him. He packed his camp, and heading south towards the kingdom.
I'll be making my character sheet tonight after work.
Do we create our hometowns, or do we use what's on the map?
I would love to make a Geomancer, if that's possible, under the 'mage' catagory. If given the ok for this, I will start my CS.

"Geomancers use bells as weapons, and equip light tunics as armor. They can walk across dungeons without fear of traps like pitfalls, or damaging floors like lava. Their signature skill is Terrain, which lets the Geomancer execute special attacks based on the terrain the party is fighting on."

@Uruvion we kinda timejumped, so it's night time. You could post how Vance got to his room or something similar

Yeah. I'll work on it tonight, if I have time.
