Origin: Tamz'Kuna was the eldest daughter and only living child of a fierce orc warlord, whom commanded a traveling warband numbering five hundred; three hundred and seventy of those being professional warriors though none in the group were to be trifled with. The band was one of those which made orc human racial tensions all the higher, raiding peaceful towns, villages and eventually taking a small keep which of course called for great celebration on the part of the orc's. Looting the keep they drank and feasted on the supplies within, awakening in the morning to find a great host outside the walls; lead by King Cassius himself with a number close to a thousand and a half. King Cassius was to give no quarter, the band had harassed his people for long enough and they had called for their heads few amongst the group were innocent and all had shared in the plunder of those defeated. Tamz'Kuna's father wouldn't surrender however, nor would he hole up inside of the stone fortress; before Cassius's siege weapons could be readied the heavy oak drawbridge came steadily crashing down across the shallow moat which surrounded the tall walls. And several hundred battle crazed orcs rushed from the keep, crashing into the center of King Cassius's army, heavily outnumbered they were quickly encircled by the superior force; albeit they fought down to the last child. Including Tamz'Kuna whom was only eleven at the time already standing at five feet and two inches, and already a tough fighter in her own right not that she stood a chance against any real combatants; it was in a melee between her father and King Cassius in which her father lost his life run through the gut with cold steel. The battle at that point had more or less been ended, most of the band lay dead but Tamz' was still alive and angry, as Cassius slayed her father Tamz rushed the King managing to squirm past the two Kingsguard which defended him; a small dagger in hand she managed to drive it slightly into King Cassius from behind. The blade finding a gap in his plate just near the hip, the blade drawing blood and sticking firmly into his side; she quickly found herself knocked unconscious by the armored gauntlet of a Kingsguard.
They were moving to execute the child as no mercy was the call and of course she had attacked the King himself, but Cassius spared her life finding her courage and ability to survive a battle at such a young age admirable. And he took the child with him sparing her life to allow her to work as a servant, and in the King's castle she grew strong and quickly, standing at six foot one by the time she was sixteen. She was unhappy of course to be imprisoned to the people who slaughtered her friends and family, though as she grew she came to understand why it needed to be done; and what kind of man her father was in truth. Considering her rapid growth and adjustment to human custom King.Cassius began to have her trained, his best knights and master-of-arms teaching her to use all manner of weapon; her greatest talent laying with the sword quickly picking up on its use and handling. Able to face three soldiers together by seventeen, fighting in her first battle for Cassius by nineteen in a small skirmish with a rouge lord; as soon as they felled the wall of the treasonous Lord's keep Tamz' Kuna threw herself first roaring with fury into the breach. She killed many men fighting alongside Cassius's own soldiers, her ferocity and skill fast spreading amongst the men whom attended the battle; and so at the conclusion of the fighting King.Cassius knighted Tamz' Kuna. It wasn't until she reached the age of twenty one that she was selected to be one of the Kingsguard, an honor which every knight dreamt of but few ever reached; her actions in saving the King's own son from a stable fire prompting her introduction into the elite guard. Along with her steadily increasing and well renowned skills in combat.
Personality:Tamz'Kuna is an incredibly loyal and mild mannered orc, her upbringing with humans curving some of the more savage tendencies of her people.
Linda chuckled with a bemused and condescending smirk on her face as was her nature, far more bold and brash than the more secretive mafia elites, something which led to the club being feared on the streets and holding down a lot of smuggling into the prisons. As she made her ultimatum the woman put her cigarette butt out directly on the wooden table leaving a permanent burn on the table top, dropping the still smoking butt on the floor under the table; clasping her tattooed hands together as she heard the gun hammer click back unflinchingly staying in place making no reach for her own colt 1911 under the right armpit. Looking lazily back towards Rhiannon for a moment before turning back to Rebecca, already knowing her rebuttal opening her mouth to deliver it her eyes darting up and down the woman's body which she had noted was never very bad to look at; that opinion easily seen by her expression.
"You ain't gon shoot me Rhiannon, summer of love might be over but killing the mother charters President? You know better than that darlin. I just wanted you to remember somethin' Becca The Bastards are here; we ain't leaving bar you or the goddamn Russians. You underestimate us, and there's your miscalculation. Well I'd love to stay and play high and tight asshole, but I've got celebrating to do!!"
As she finished speaking Linda stood back up, pulling a joint from behind her left ear a black dew rag holding her slight dread locked brown hair out of her face as she lit the end of the substance. Giving the lot a curt nod, she knew the new mans face and the fact he was an arms dealer as well; thats all she needed the club could vote on the rest and the appropriate actions to take. Puffing the smelly dope in a cloud of thick white smoke as she walked out the front doors, back towards her bike her brothers waiting for her on their own respective Harley's chatting up a couple of less than reputable women; Linda snatched one of them by her rear and jumped on her sportster. The girl clambering onto the back behind Linda, the bikes starting with a loud rumble and speeding off with even louder pops; headed back to the BoH clubhouse.

Backstory:Yrsa was born to Jarl.Svein Skardisson only a few years after he had made the land she currently ruled his land, at the height of their aggressions with the Saxons who before dominated the region; she was the third child of the Jarl. the other two both males were groomed to be their fathers successor. Although Yrsa was taught to fight and rule as well, and with good reason as hazardous as life was in those times; both her brothers died in battle with great honor against the Saxons making Yrsa her fathers next in line to rule. He followed them to Valhalla several years later leaving the sixteen year old Yrsa to rule over the lands herself, with advisors she had known since childhood she became a just and balanced ruler supporting a persons freedoms over all else. Reaching new agreements with the Saxons both through trade and threats of force, as her standing army was well over three hundred men and women; all godless heathens ready to rip and plunder; or trade and live peacefully. The Saxons agreed to her peace, not desiring a long drawn out conflict with the Dane's as they could make more profit off of trade between the two groups, their cultures not entirely different from one another.
@Vas Khaleen while I am a terrible GM, I might be able to help you by coding your OOC post and such, if you'd allow me to? It'd look a bit nicer. However, I'll create a character first, since that is logically the first step.
I take it we're putting this in the timeframe of the Danelaw?
I'm interested, if you need someone for some historical input, feel free to ask, I take great interest in vikings as I am a pagan myself. Actually seen Halvtand a few times around here as well.
Recently got a book called the Hammer and the Cross, so if need by I can even look into some.. semi-reliable sourcing for you. I also know a few of the saga's, so that would be good too. Anyway, I'll get on a character
I always need more advisors, this is my first GM experience so any ideas or input you have is greatly appreciated.
(The plot may seem shallow as it stands, but thats because I wanted to allow the story to grow from one starting point any and all ideas are accepted and considered.)
This RP will be a historical albeit low-fantasy tier story beginning in the small Dane settlement of Kjolr, a town with hardy wooden buildings and a single great hall made from stone ruled by Jarl.Yrsa Skardisson; build in Eastern Britain some years before by her father Jarl.Svien Skardisson. Since her father built the settlement the Dane's and the Saxons whom originally lived in the areas have managed to work out a fairly stable peace, trade between the two peoples common; though there is always risk in life. Monsters roam the open wilderness, from the plains, to the forests and mountains, trolls, shape-shifters and all other manner of beasts both super-natural and natural threaten the settlement and its inhabitants; generally terrorizing the outlying farmers more than those whom lived inside the main settlement. The society is made up of three distinct social classes as old as the vikings known raids Jarls, Karls, and Thrall's, Jarl's being the highest and most wealthy of the three classes, followed by Karl's which were the common people, farmers, craftsmen, warriors and the like; Thrall's were enslaved peoples either taken in battle or bought from the Saxons and other slavers.
A karl which lives upon Jarl.Yrsa's land brought a grave issue to her attention, his children were stolen in the dead of night; and his farm ripped apart leaving him the lone survivor of the attack shamed by his cowardice when a small band of Troll's attacked and he fled instead of defending his home. He begged the Jarl to help him avenge his loved ones by gathering a band of her bravest warriors to hunt down and destroy the beasts, which he described as twice or thrice the size of any man he had ever seen; with broad set shoulders capable of ripping a person limb from limb with ease. Hearing his plea and desiring to be rid of such a threat before they reproduced and possibly did the same to more of her people Jarl.Yrsa put out the word, some of her great warriors lived close few in her own personal guard; though many were more humble in times of peace tending the land to support their families and pay their share to the Jarl. This is were the story first begins, a hunt for justice and revenge with a meeting first with the fair haired Jarl.Yrsa for promise of reward and glory in the eyes of the God's for defeating such great monsters.
Rules 1.No being overpowered, I don't want to see single warriors taking on tweleve men at a time or one shotting monsters 2.Magic will be allowed, albeit there won't be any fireball slinging Skyrim mages 3.Any nationality is fine, so long as you have proper reasoning for why they are where they are 4.Stay historically accurate on weapons and armor, any questions for historical accuracy can be directed to myself or Halvtand my Co-GM 5.No getting asshurt, there will be graphic themes in this roleplay as we will not be sugar coating the Viking way of life, if you cannot handle that you need not apply. 6.Women as well as men may apply to be warriors, though men will have obvious advantages in physical might.
(Limit 2 kinds and please don't be a crazy skilled warrior and a magic user, exceptions can be made for exceptional characters.)
Sejd/Seith - Involving the user falling into a trance or meditation and establishing a connection with the supernatural. These people claim to be able to give vague or less often detailed descriptions of a persons fortunes in the future as well as weather, war, harvest and other important things.
Magic rune drawing - Enchantment or cursing, giving a warriors blade a glimmer to blind an opponent or harder edge, more strength or favour from the God's minor blessings and enhancements. In both the form of worn accessories and tattoo's. Knowing the runes is not enough, the user must also know their magic form and believe in them.
Shapeshifting - Ability to shift ones form into that of an animal typically only one per human with bear and wolf being "normal", not always controllable but generally caused by strong emotions.
Galdr - Calling upon the God's to bring down the force of nature, bolts of lighting or thunderstorms, gusts of wind to push a ship onwards. This takes time, serious focus and a skilled practitioner with a loud voice. Galdr means to shout out a verse the describes what you want to happen, the intended target must be able to hear it.
Post characters in OOC before character list please.
I think I get what you're saying here, and I'm all on board. About the ridiculous combat, let's just say that there are some... embellishments in the old sagas, so I don't think we should have any problem to stay with the spirit of the age, if not the actual facts and boring parts of it. Eastern Britain is a good place to start out, it also means that we could have the two mythologies clashing. Celtic brownies vs norse... Don't even think there is a proper English name fpr most of them... Looks like I have a new google project.
It appears i also have found a new Co-GM if you accept that is.
