I just want to warn everyone right meow, now that people are making characters, I have decided that AshClan will not exist in this setting! They are officially the ancient clan, and what became the beginning of StarClan! Yes, you may be the direct descendant of an AshClan cat, but the clan no longer exists in the living world!

The OOC should also be up by the end of tonight! IC will not start until some of the major roles have been taken up. BUT. It won't be a 'dibs' situation. It will be first come first serve. Please, take to others about playing relatives as well, family groups would likely have tried to stay together as much as possible.
I have some Brother x Sister plots if you want to play one together?
@The Elvenqueen Oh yeah! I totally do :3

Brief History & Personality

And that's it. I would prefer that all characters have an assigned colour for in the IC, so make sure that we can easily identify.
hmmm ok, I haven't read the books in like ten years so I didn't remember it all that well. But yea, that was more to be a snapshot of his personality...

I'm alright with being a Loner. But I have one question:

Can he use traps?

PS How was it from an objective view? I'm asking so as to improve my own writing.

Like Pastel said above, complex traps would be very out of place. Rudimentary traps, for luring in enemies however, are entirely possible. But the odds of there actually being a lot of Twolegs in the area is pretty small. We are set in a mountain valley after all.

EDIT

The writing itself was very good. I look forward to being able to rp with you, and if you want, we can work out a 1x1 once I have this up and running fairly well.
@ViolentViolet

Hey, I want to play as a complete fucking genius!!!!

I have an idea and will send a snapshot of it to you in the PMs

I'm not sure what happened to sending it to me via Private Messages, but you've given me no choice but to give my verdict in public.

From what I've read above, Cindercoat,as you called him, is much too human-like. The Warriors express emotion and organize well, but they never pass that line, correct? I believe that having a 'genius' or a cat that uses human contraptions the same way that humans do, would not fit well into the setting among the clans. If you so desire, you can turn him into an average cat, and a loner who must look after himself. But using traps, bags, and coats like humans do, are beyond the reasonable limitations I must impose.
Sorry I haven't been here! My internet is being finicky, but I'm doing my best to work things out! I just need a final vote

Established Warrior and Medicine Cat Code or not?

Like this post for an Established Code.

Thank this post for a work-in-progress Code.

Laugh at this post if you have a suggestion for changing the Warrior code!
Coolio. I'll try to find some good location pictures but I have some stuff to do. I'll probably just post some here if I ever find anything.

I like the idea of this being a first generation thing. Life before the codes huh? Hey, we can also put into play why those codes were formed in the first place. Like, something bad happened so that's why we need this rule. It would be interesting to play with.

I thought so to. Let's see what the other think; in the mean time, I'm going to brainstorm ideas for my characters and write some clan histories.

Ideas also welcome for those ^.^
@Drakey@ArisenMoon@The Elvenqueen@Canidae@WelcmeToGudBrgr

That's actually so much more interest than I thought I would get. I guess I gotta make this go somewhere soon ^.^ The five clans were just a suggestion, basic ideas etc. We probably won't use all of them after all. Anyone want to help me find territory images and camp layout suggestions? We should also start figuring out roles etc.

I like everyone's ideas, but I want to start off somewhere simpler, so we can manage to get going and comfortable before some massive plot points. I think I've decided that AshClan will have been driven out before the start of our game (likely by LightClan/territory issues). Tension is always good to get the ball rolling :p

@ViolentViolet

I think they're pretty cool too. Cliffclan and Lightclan strikes the most interest with me. Still interested in making a Medicine Cat for either clans.

Oh, but I do have a question - aren't Medicine Cats supposed to be single for the rest of their lives since they've devoted their being entirely to help other cats and to Starclan? I think that was in one of the Warrior Codes, actually.

OakClan and BoulderClan were more or less an Origin Story type thing. Whereas the others were at a point where the code exists (probably simpler). I'm fascinated by life before the Code was finalized ^.^.. So kinda of like.. First generation kind of thing. Of course, it'll change before the final version goes up :3

@ViolentViolet

Interested, if at all possible can I be an Ashclan born, but raised within cliffclan.

I was born in ashclan, but in my childhood I got lost and wandered into cliffclan or something like that.

Also, haven't read the books in forever >.>

Hey, guess what. I did a thing :p If AshClan has been driven out already, it wouldn't be unusual for an Ash-born cat to find themselves in CliffClan or OakClan. Though, I do ask that they aren't old enough to know/remember what happened to their clan or family.

<Snipped quote by Polaris North>

I always thought that bit of the code was really silly to be honest...I mean, they're cats, why are there friars/nuns in cat society? haha

Plus, none of the cats in the series ever follow that rule anymore anyways :P

@ViolentViolet Plot wise, a small idea that's probably terrible LOL but I'll throw it out here anyways, what if there was a new and rather virulent disease that appeared in the Clan territories at some point (I dunno...maybe rabies spread through the prey or something? o: ) that force the Clan leaders to agree that the Medicine Cats need to form an alliance together to better find a cure before the disease wipes out all the Clans?
If they had to venture further out of their usual territories perhaps they could take a Warrior escort with them, a few of the best from each Clan, while the ones who are left behind have to avoid hunting the sick prey and try and care for their ill Clanmates without getting sick themselves?

Like I said, probably a rubbish idea but one I had anyways haha

I do really like the idea here. Perhaps we can talk out the details once we've got the ball rolling?
@Polaris North@WelcmeToGudBrgr@The Elvenqueen

I've got a few clan ideas I want to run passed you guys. They're pretty basic, and input is highly appreciated.

OakClan, recently formed, make their home in the forest beneath the mountains. The valley is untouched by twolegs, with a single river running it's length and a waterfall in the west. These cats range in talents, though they take naturally to the underbrush and trees of their territory. Proud cats, but kind, these wild cats are. Rivals with BoulderClan, their leader is a cat of great charisma with the fairest mate of them all - their medicine cat. The cats are learning to behave and work together, though some may have issues with other cats, the higher ups encourage them to work things out.

BoulderClan, made of cats who prefer the harsh and rugged look on life. They make their home above the forest floor where they cannot see the jungle beneath them. Their camp is a series of tunnels and caverns inside of their mountain. They hunt mostly birds, and lack the skill to climb trees or hide in underbrush, though they are phenomenal at climbing rocks and going unseen against the stone. They're balance is praised.

AshClan, one of the four across the mountain ridge, makes it's home in a dormant volcano. These cats are resistant to poisonous elements, often coloured in darker pelts and have rather light eyes for wild cats. They're a neutral presence in their home, and make the pines beneath the volcano their territory.

CliffClan, possibly the most accepting of all the clans, live in the forested area of their valley. Their territory is wide and long, their camp in an old quarry abandoned for generations. The closest knit of all the clans they would never turn away a cat in need, even if that cat was an enemy.

LightClan, unlike the others, are brutal in their training. They are Warriors down to the very last fiber. They despise weakness in all it's forms and actively cast out those who are not strong enough to survive. This clan of cats makes it's camp on a small island between rivers, often hunting fish and other predators. Strong swimmers with determination to last them centuries, LightClan will never back down from a fight.

I do realize they're pretty trash lol.
@PrincePierce Awesome. Mind if I PM you to work something out?
