Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Since @Rune_Alchemist is coming back this week, I'd like to give them a chance to post before I make my next update. Still, glad to see everyone seems to be enjoying this so far! Any questions or comments?
"I don't believe there's any other way to access this water," Fanilly said as she approached the moon pool, warily taking in their surroundings, "At least, not anywhere nearby."

To be truthful, while she had been to the shrine once before, and learned much more about it since, the young Knight-Captain knew little of the origin of the waters beneath the shrine. Perhaps that was one of the reasons they were considered divine, that they possibly sprung from Mayon's will.

Regardless of their origin, it was impossible to tell if there was anything in the water from this distance.

"The only way to know if anything was down there would be for someone to go down..." Fanilly commented, uncertain if that was at all a wise idea without knowing where the waters flowed. Certainly, they were divine, and the current did not appear strong, but...

Aside from Dame Tyaethe, the young captain was reluctant to send anyone down there without knowing how deep it was. Then again, perhaps the water's divine nature made it impossible to drown?

Still, she was quite certain that attempting to search the pool at night was impossible. Unless you were Dame Tyaethe.

However, this pondering was cut short, as the sound of rustling foliage immediately caused Fanilly's hand to fly to the hilt of her blade.

What emerged was not an attacker, however.

The armored form of a very tall knight, clad entirely in black plate, emerged from the foliage. Beside them was a young girl, her grey hair in pigtails.

Some of the knights would recognize her from the recent ball.

"... Lady Cal?" Fanilly questioned, perplexed at the sight of the only living member of the Cal family.

"The Iron Rose Knights, then," she commented, head cocked to her side, "I can't say I expected to see you."

Immediately, a flurry of questions filled Fanilly's head. What was Veileena Cal doing here? Had she hired the mercenaries? Did that mean she wanted the shard? But why?

Okay, think it's been more then long enough. Updating today or tomorrow, most likely today.
Would like to update sometime in the coming week.
In the wake of the explosion, a smoldering, twisted something fell to the ground and vanished from sight beyond the edge of the cliff. It was likely what was left of the man with the horned helmet, after the explosion completely destroyed most of his body.

The remaining soldier lay unconscious, the rest of the armored figures laying dead. They had joined their fellows presumably killed by the deceased knight who had once wielded the white sword.

The little girl was stirring, letting out a soft sound as her grey eyes slowly flickered open. She was still flushed and feverish, but it seemed that she had recovered enough to awaken.

"Mmm... haah...? Sir... Oren...?"

While she was awake, she also appeared to be somewhat delirious. Her eyes were heavily-lidded, though she seemed to realize that she was looking at a new face a few moments after opening her mouth.

"You're not... who...?"

She was silent for a few moments, as if remembering something.

"... D... did I do it...?"

@1Charak2 has informed me she probably won't be posting again, so I'm going to move ahead with that in mind.
I'll be updating Saturday at the latest.
@1Charak2@Martian: I'd like to update before the end of the week, to avoid too much schedule slipping, so please try and post before then.
"Hold off the spearman!" Nobunaga called to her ally, before focusing her attention on the archer. There was no time to be spared focusing on the man she had rendered armless, given he was likely going into shock and unable to do much now. The bloodloss could potentially kill him before the others were dispatched.

While honor and dignity certainly had their place, even in battle, this was an ambush and attempt at assassination by unscrupulous traitors. Therefore, there were no measures Nobunaga would ignore in regards to preserving the village elder's life.

The petite black-haired girl departed from the downed hunter's side as she broke into a sprint towards the archer. Of course, this would ordinarily prove to be a far less advantageous position. All the archer need do is adjust his aim, and though she was a small target she would still be in immediate danger.

But if he missed...

When she was as close as she could manage, Nobunaga buried the tip of her katana in the snow and swung upwards, sweeping a cloud of powdery white into the air towards the archer to obscure his vision and, hopefully, briefly stun him. With that, she immediately drew her blade back and thrust right for the throat...!

As Sefira very reluctantly placed her hands on Kokoma's waist, trying to do everything she could to avoid touching the other girl in any place that was even more awkward then that, a distinct feeling of dread welled up within her. As if she had indeed let slip something that was going to make her future considerably more awkward and embarrassing then it would have otherwise. As if Kokoma had caught what she'd nearly let spill.

For a few moments, all she could do is dwell on that possibility, and all this girl knowing that could entail.

But there were more pressing matters at hand. The monster attack on the city would never have happened back when Emerald Odyssey was a game. It was an immediate and obvious rule change. Was it simply a result of the game now becoming reality? Or was there something more going on here? Could it even be tied to the reason she and likely many others had now become their characters in the game's world? For that matter, the NPCs she passed by were hiding, some checking on the injured, others arming themselves and looking skywards to make sure no more monsters were approaching...

It was nothing like the NPCs of the game, which were more like background scenery or stood around in one place until they played their part in a given quest.

It stood to reason that if the rest of the world was real, so too were the people who lived in it. There were considerably more as well...

Thinking about these changes helped keep her mind off of the fact her slender legs felt sore from riding the beast, and that she was still holding onto a girl's waist this whole time.

Sefira took a deep breath.

"I'm guessing you got here the same way?" she asked Kokoma, "You tried to log in after the new expansion dropped, and then there was a bright flash of light? Hmph, what kind of stupid isekai setup is this...?"
