Small collab with @PapiTan

Finally, it was over. Mostly. With their coordinated efforts, Angélique watched as every spiders and centipedes were utterly destroyed by the powers of her teammates. Seeing this pile of junk getting what they rightfully deserved, it brought satisfaction to the screaming Mage’s mind. Her stigmas wasn’t entirely sated, still yearning for bringing personal doom, but the lack of targets would suffice to get herself back in control.

Already, Emma signaled her team that she was leaving to help the Evacuation team. Angel was just about to call out the Tulpamancer's name, but the Aberration had already turned the next ruined block and was out of sight. It was no use stopping her now. She seemed too determined to save the others instead of waiting for the whole group to go together.

It reeked of bad decisions. Hopefully, Emma would meet Callan on the way there and they'll be able to protect each other. Hell, maybe even Brent would cover her if she met trouble on the way.

Now that Angel had calmed down and there was nothing threatening in the immediate vicinity, the X-marked young woman swiftly took off her half-disintegrated military pants, revealing the mostly intact pair of jeans underneath, save for the important bits missing by lack of Wishalloy application. To hide her half-naked lower body, the raven-haired Aberration took the remaining pants right leg and wrapped it around her lower body, covering most of her naked butt cheek and front. It didn't completely cover the whole missing parts, but it did the job. At least it saved Angel the embarrassment of roaming the battlefield with an eyeful of naked bum and V-line.

Feeling more at ease from no longer feeling her important bits naked, Angélique turned to the other victim of Hazel's impromptu stripping, noticing how exposed Siena was as well. Seeing her in that state, Angel was bothered by it and figured she'd fix it rather than leave her friend on the battlefield with her delicate features uncovered. Siena probably thought the same way as she did when putting her alloy on.

Angel took off the ruined remains military jacket to reveal the bulletproof vest underneath zipped on top of a shoulderless deep purple sweater and walked towards Siena, disintegrated jacket in hand.

"Hang on Siena. Stand still for a second."

Angélique announced herself to the girl as she walked up behind her, taking the black military wear and draped it around the brunette Arbiter's lower body. Making sure what little remaining of the jacket covered most of her friend's naked embarrassing places, the sonic Mage then tied the cloth tightly as best as she could. Being taller than the younger girl, Angel had to lean a bit forward, her head just about at the same level as Siena's as she worked on the makeshift paréo.

"There you go. That should hold on until we get back. Don't want to have you running around the place half-naked, hm?"

While Angel was covering Siena's parts, she could not help but notice the injuries on the girl's shoulder and hand. How did she got those injuries in the first place? Were they caused by the metal hound that jumped on her?

"Are you alright?" The obsidian-haired Aberration asked out of concern to the brunette Arbiter. "Your wounds... Do you need a Healer to fix you up?"

As expected, Shizuri didn't last long, though Hank's quick disappearance was startling. Dropping her now-injured arm, Siena released a breath, willing herself to work through whatever faint discomfort the fatigue would bring. Fury boiled beneath the surface, but she'd spent her entire life learning how to control that. To control all her emotions, really. Long before the whatever joke of a deity drew a white paintbrush across her face, Maya had been there to teach Siena how to arm herself in ways unseen and underestimated.

The thoughts didn't continue for long before Siena was grounded by Angel's voice, her body instinctively starting to move, but a conscious effort keeping her cemented. Standing still was difficult with her head twisting every thought, harder still with the bitter rage throwing its weight against the edges of her self-control, trying to create a reason to lash out as Angel tied the jacket. The brunette took a soft breath, fatigue dulled in the wake of frustration.

Instead, she directed her attention to the wounds on her arm. Bleeding--it looked worse than it felt. More blood than expected, but the cuts weren't likely to be that deep. She examined it for only a moment before shaking her head lightly. The pain was at least something to grasp onto.

"Not really. It looks worse than it is, see?" Doing a few quick movements with her fingers to show there was no loss of mobility, Siena allowed her arm to drop back to its place, her uninjured arm already tapping through a selection of images and words. "The other teams need our help. I can get to them without fail from here if everyone else can handle any remaining clockworks."

Angel sighed in relief upon seeing how superficial her comrades' wounds were. It was probably her overprotective side that dramatized the importance of the injuries.

Hearing Siena's conviction towards helping their other classmates in their time of need, it renewed the Aberration's will to fight. She nodded to the Arbiter.

"Alright. We'll deal with the giant one over there and be on our way to help the others."

After Ethan suggested the offensive support team members to return to the drop off point, Angélique shook her head negatively, a frown drawn on her injured and shades-less face.

“We still have work to do. Evacuation Team is besieged by Rogues, and from Brent’s perspective, things are going to shit over there. I’m not letting my fellow classmates down after all we’ve went through. We’ll save them and return from this mission together.” Angel turned to the members of her team “Right, guys?”

“Grant, can I borrow your mission phone? Mine got… pulverized in the heat of battle.”

While Angélique was still a bit mad over Hazel having blown up half her stuff and clothes from dragging her at the center, she tried to conceal her frustration and hold off from blaming her for what she did. She already yelled at the Aberration earlier out of spite from her loss of control, no need to aggravate the situation right now.

Taking the phone Grant handed to her, Angel took a moment to look at the map and locate everyone. Sander was off inside the mines; Callan was heading towards Evacuation Team; Christmas’ team and Gregory had moved away from their original position, and Evac team was not far south from her current position. The only team that seemed to have remained stationary were Lilianna’s team.

Nodding to herself, Angel opened a channel frequency available only to Healer Team Halvost. She acknowledged Brent’s warning earlier about the possibility of the Rogues spying on their position, and as such wanted to limit the flow of information by speaking directly to the folks concerned individually

“Team Halvost, this is Angel. Are you guys well enough to provide healing? I... require medical aid.”

It was tough for Angel to ask for help, especially since their position was compromised early in the battle from an encounter with a Rogue Subnatural assassin. But the pain was starting to become unbearable. Her face started to get numb. She could taste the iron and dirt from the blood slowly dripping from the gashes on her face. She could remember someone from the evaluation telling them the need to see the bigger picture. It would be a stupid death to bleed out like that instead of getting patched up.

"Angel, Ernie and Christmas are headed your way, so I'll need you to take care of that collector near you guys. They're gonna be sticking with offensive support for now."

It took a while for that response, but it somehow satisfied the sonic Mage. If Ernest and Christmas were joining offensive support, then that meant Zoe was off helping Evac team as well. They probably were planning this move just after they got Angel's call. Looks like everyone will be converging onto the battle with the Rogues in the end.

"Alright, we'll be taking care of that thing. Be careful out there. We'll come to help as soon as we're done here."

As soon as she acknowledged Zoe's message, Angelique switched channel frequency to one of the remaining member of the Striker Team she wasn't sure about his whereabouts. They needed as much firepower as she needed to help taking down whatever those Rogues were.

“Chris, Angel here. Join us up as soon as you are done dealing with your targets. If you need healing, Christmas is going to be with us ”

Since she knew Chris couldn’t speak in Dragon form, from her previous training sessions with him, Angel didn’t bother keeping the channel open. Whether he'll come or not, she will see soon enough.

Turning to face her team, Angel tried to keep a reassuring composure about herself despite feeling so weary from the blood she was losing. Hopefully, this battle was going to be over soon, she wished. She returned Grant's phone to its owner.

"Let's get that Collector out of the way for Christmas and Ernest to reach us safely."

Determined to get this over as soon as possible, the ex-rockstar didn't want to mess around for long, even in her injured state. If she could just hold on long enough, she'll be patched up soon enough to enjoy a painless face. For now, all that mattered was getting rid of that mammoth-sized clockwork heading their way before helping the others at Evac Team,

Hopefully Callan and Emma were good enough help to save Lawrence's team.

While she did not want to get in the way of the others' attacks, the raven-haired young woman did not want to feel useless, standing around doing nothing while her team was doing all the hard work. She wanted to be of as much help as she could be.

Taking a deep breath and centering herself from her now more focused mind, Angelique started walking towards the elephantine construct. She knew her range, The machine's unnatural long arms were not long enough to reach for Angel in her direct area of effect.

The sonic Aberration shouted out four finely precised shots of concentrated sonic waves, one after the other. Her targets were the joints on the Collector's four legs, one scream for each leg.

After her series of shrieks ended, Angel coughed a few times. Her throat was getting sore. She could feel herself nearing her limits.

Through the tightening web of thin wires, Angélique could feel the pressure and the cuts not only digging through her skin, but also starting to saw through parts of her new pair of shades. Cracks had started to form where the pressure was most exerted.

Just as she thought she was fucked, a familiar set of chains had appeared on the wires. The attempt at wresting control of the web did not go without pain however. For each of Grant’s effort to pull the web away from the spiders, the clockwork would struggle back to pull it back to them, causing some sort of sawing motion on the obsidian-haired Mage’s face, causing more pain to flare up.

“I-It hurts!”

She yelled with a despair-filled tone. If this kept going, the cutting strings will slice through her skull and cut the poor girl’s head in ribbons. At this point, Angel couldn’t suppress the groans of pain as she felt the webbing sawing inside the skin of her face.

She was just about to scream, let out a last-ditch effort shout to get the strings out of her face when suddenly she felt the wires thickening on her face. While it felt uncomfortable, for the strings were now thicker than the cuts they had made, the ever-growing suffering had stopped getting worse.

When the netting of thin wires had finally snapped and fell off the sonic Aberration’s face, she let out a loud sigh of relief. A twisted smile crept up on her lips as her legs flinched from the pain and the fear, sending the raven-haired young woman on her knees. Her face was a mess. The deep cuts were bleeding all over, painting the ex-rockstar’s skin with streams of red.

As if to try and appease the pain, Angélique brought her two hands to her face, applying light pressure. But all it managed to do was cause more pain and spread blood everywhere and on her hands. The cracked sunglasses gave out under the pressure of the girl’s hands, breaking into pieces to the ground, revealing the bright distressed green eyes underneath.

Fortunately for the girl, at this time of the year, the sun wasn’t as vivid in the evening as during summer time, combined with the gray rainy clouds that were obscuring the sky. The aching in her eyes wasn’t as bad as it would’ve been in the afternoon, and didn’t immediately affect her. Thanks to the contact lenses provided by USARILN, her vision was still clear despite having lost her shades. With them gone though, there was nothing hiding the tears that had begun to form into her eyes, slowly trailing down her cheeks now that the day's brightness was reaching for her sensitive eyes.

With the pain not subsiding yet, adding to that the loss of another pair of sunglasses and her injuries flaring, Angel’s wrath was still burning ever so strongly inside her. She wanted the machines to pay for what they did to her.

The sheer strength of will from her anger had dissipated the paralyzing fear that had taken hold of the Aberration’s legs. Slowly, Angélique got up to her feet and faced the spiders’ direction. She walked past Grant, placing herself directly in front of him as he held down the spiders with their own net. She was too deep into her rage to even thank the guy that saved her. At the very least, the only thing she could do to acknowledge his help was to not put him into the range of what she was about to do.

EYE FOR AN EYE!

Taking a deep breath, the Aberration fury let out a series of long-lasting raging screams at the southeastern part of the clockwork army, slamming with full-force into the spiders there and one of the two centipedes’ head. The force applied to her screams were also strong enough to clear the cloud of dust in that area.

With her facial muscles tensing up, more blood trailed down from the gashes on Angel’s face. However, for now, the pain would only fuel her desire to destroy.

Barely hearing Brent’s words transmitting now on her cuff’s speaker, Angel turned her face to witness the behemoth clockwork starting to barrel down on the rubble of the buildings behind the offensive support group, slowly but surely making its way towards them.

“Fucking great…”

Angel muttered just as her vision was now clouded once more by dust that came from the massive Factory that had crashed to the ground, causing a shaking from the soil even Angélique felt at this distance. Devotion’s sludge splashing onto her clothes and naked bits did not help to appease the sonic Mage’s mood. But at this point of the battle, this nuisance was barely any worse than what already happened.

They might be fucked now, but at least the Strikers seemed to handle their situation on their side of the field. If only the support group could hold on just a little longer…

Panic suddenly settled in as the raven-haired Aberration felt something hit her face, soon to be followed by a cutting sensation and the pain the came with it. Reflexively, Angel brought her hands to her face in an attempt to get the webbing out of her face, but as she tugged on the wires, the tightening web only sliced deeper into her skin, through the rubber material of her right glove and even caused slight cuts on the girl’s left naked hand.

It took mental effort for the young woman to not scream out of panic, afraid to let out a sonic wave that would hit her teammate and further pull the web onto her face. The pain was already bad as it was now, she did not want her face to be completely eviscerated by a reckless push.

“H-Help! Get this thing out of my face!”

Angel could only plead for help from her teammates. By now, the screaming Mage was shaking, both from the rage of being so powerless and the fear of death that was petrifying her.

Being positioned in such a way her back was facing the group, Angélique had been caught completely off-guard by Hazel’s arm sweep. The raven-haired Aberration was so focused on blasting the mechanical hound in front of her that when the purplish arm dragged her to the center of the group, she was knocked from her feet and abruptly met the soil face first.

She lied there for just about a minute, dazed and confused as to what had just happened. Opening her eyes and slowly shaking off the haze, she knelt amidst a pile of half-disintegrated debris; trashed remnants of her own gear. Having been hit sideways by Hazel’s arm, everything that hadn’t been covered by Wishalloy on her left side was disintegrated or damaged. That included her belt, part of the rifle hanging on her back, the radio and the left side of her unprotected clothing, which was mostly half of her military uniform and some parts of the clothing underneath.

Scattered on the ground at Angel’s feet were the pepper spray, the combat knife, half of the disintegrated rifle, the intact shotgun that had left the woman’s hands during her daze and the useless disintegrated helmet that had fallen off her head. As for the clothing, her left shoulder was now completely bare, as well as her left hand and – to her greatest shame – her entire left hip, waist, butt cheek and a clear line of her upper pelvic area was now exposed.

Feeling the sudden cool breeze of an autumn’s evening, Angélique’s face blushed just as red as the day she had been caught wandering practically naked in a hotel in a drunken haze. Piecing the puzzle pieces together, the Mage realized it must’ve been Hazel who had hit her, or at least grabbed her violently to bring the singer closer to the wild Aberration.

Unaware that Hazel had in fact saved them from being sliced to ribbons by the webbing of wires from the clockwork spider, Angel swiftly got up to her feet, one hand covering her exposed ass cheek and the other hiding her uncomfortably unearthed inner thigh and pelvis, Angel shot up the meanest glare she ever did before at Hazel.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!? KEEP YOUR GODDAMNED HANDS ON THE ENEMY!”

Angélique yelled, her composure practically snapped from all the stress this fight was giving her and now the humiliation inflicted to her by Hazel. If this was the ridiculously out-of-place geared girl’s idea of revenge for having been thrown off her perch, she damn well succeeded at pissing Angel off.

She hadn’t been the only one to suffer from this kind of humiliation though. Siena had also been knocked off her feet; evidence of Hazel’s doing as parts of the brunette’s clothing were disintegrated as well. A hint of worry had crept up on Angel’s face, not completely dismissing the scowl etched on her face. The poor girl had thrown off to the ground by a hound just a few minutes ago, to be then done in like that again by a teammate.

That girl is a danger to your group’s survival! To YOUR survival. She must be dealt with swiftly!

“Siena, are you alright?” Angel echoed Brent’s words, equally worried about the Arbiter’s well-being as the Aberration knelt beside Siena to check up on her.

If you don’t kill her now, you will be the one to die for her foolishness!

As much as Hazel proved to be a huge liability so far, she was also the most efficient fighter of her group. Would they have made it that far without her powers? Also, she was a classmate, someone she had internally vowed of keeping safe and bring back alive from this mission. She couldn't just bring herself to scream the girl down and feed her to the clockworks, could she?

Shifting her gaze from Siena to her surroundings, Angel just realized how truly fucked her group was now. Despite being slowed down by Emma’s Devotion, the clockwork army was now closely circling all around them. Centipedes were surely going to try and crush the group as they would tighten their formation, and the spiders provided a barrier than none could pass and would slice everyone up as they drew closer as well.

Rage bubbled inside Angélique once more, this time far more intense than how she felt before during this fight. The feeling of being humiliated this way by a teammate and the powerlessness caused by her inability to destroy a monster all by herself like every other members of her team could, she couldn’t bear it anymore.

For the moment, her mind was consumed in a veil of hatred. Screw strategy. Screw tactics. Fuck trying to come up with plans. Most of all, fuck the others not listening to her. Deep inside, there was a darker intent rising to the surface.

Reclaim your superiority! Don’t let those lowly dogs stand in the path of your righteousness!

Mustering the faintest hint of compassion left in her from the colliding darkness, Angélique turned away to face a direction where she would hit none of her teammates; a direction no one would get in her way.

Then, the infuriated Aberration released a barrage of unbridled broad sonic waves, aiming at nothing in particular but annihilating the northern formation of centipede and spiders circling around them right in front of the direction she was facing.

Is Emma going to be pissed…

That was the second time Determination was knocked away mid-assault by someone. At the very least, Hazel and Emma’s attacks deterred the charging horde from approaching if not for a small amount of time, enough for Angel to evaluate just how fucked they were.

With a clear view ahead, Angel could see what Brent had been warning her about the spiders. She had no idea what exactly the web was made of, but it certainly wasn’t anything soft judging from how thin yet glistening with a metallic gloss. Already, Angel could picture the spiders falling all around her team, slicing everyone to ribbons as the threads made contact with the flesh of her teammates.

Adding to the jumping spider menace was the charging horde of centipedes and hounds. Could it be? Were those creatures holding some sort of sentience and ability to strategize? Was that frontal assault been a plot to distract them from the lurking threats at the rear, spinning their deadly web? Most certainly, these creatures were better at working together than the handful of Mages this team was made of.

The sonic Mage’s heart was racing more than ever before. The stress kept her on edge, her mind struggling between coming up with solutions to their crisis, fighting off her stigma pounding in the backdoor of her consciousness and keep herself just focused enough to take everything into consideration.

When she saw Siena being stuck to the ground by a crippled clockwork Hound that tripped on her, Angélique’s snapped as she unconsciously shouted Siena’s name in worry. There was no way they were going to live from this fight if everyone kept getting in each other’s way. Hazel obscuring everyone’s sight; Grant blindly tossing boulders at his teammates; herself hitting her allies with her sonic waves. It had to stop.

“Hazel, swat the spiders from the sky and tear their web down!"

"Everyone else, keep the rest of the horde at bay! Focus your attacks! We have to stop getting in each other’s way! ”

Angel shouted to her teammate, her voice now heightened further by a more mundane use of her abilities to make sure her words would carry out on top of all the noise surrounding them and to those who were a bit further away, such as Hazel airborne and Emma at the back.

It may be hypocritical of her to order this as she had blasted Emma’s tulpas and nearly sent Hazel knocked from her airborne position, but it needed to be said. For the moment, Angel couldn’t afford to care about the impression she was giving or the opinions of others’. This battle was going downhill, but Angel had the will to live through this and to protect her classmates from being killed. She’ll take it upon herself to make sure they come back alive today.

Turning to a struggling Siena, the raven-haired Aberration rushed to the brunette Arbiter. While anxiety was tearing her up from inside, Angel found the focus she needed in the goal of helping a friend, saving someone close to her, someone she cares about. Focusing on what needed to be done to help Siena out of her predicament, the sound Mage manifested her resolve in the form of a point-blank shot of concentrated sonic wave, aimed precisely at the large metal hound shuffling atop Siena’s lower body.

No way in fucking hell a monster would lay their teeth on someone precious to Angel’s eyes. Even if the clockwork creature was knocked away from Siena, Angélique would release a few more furiously focused shouts at the animal to make sure it stays down and give Siena the time to get her powers back.

While screaming a machine into submission wasn’t half as satisfying as doing so on an actual living being, the obsidian-haired metal singer could feel some ease at the back of her mind; her stigma gradually satisfied with the Aberration taking it out persistently on a single target.

𝕊𝕖𝕡𝕥. 𝟙𝟜, 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟘 / / 𝕎𝕚𝕤𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕕, 𝕄𝕒𝕣𝕪𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕕 / / 𝕋𝕠𝕨𝕟 / / ~𝟙𝟟𝟛𝟘

Angélique’s eyes widened as chaos erupted shortly after she had screamed. She did not expect Emma to send her tulpas inside the area the screaming Aberration was blasting with sonic waves. Even less expected her shout to actually make the summoned creatures disappear and fell the biggest of those. Perhaps Angel had been underestimating the potency of her own powers in the end, seeing she was knocking with surprising ease the clockworks she had been screaming at so far.

Despite how easy it was for her teammates to dispatch the metal animals, Angel could not help but feel uneasy as their visibility started to worsen with the two dust clouds created by Hazel’s explosions. If it kept going on, they might not be able to see incoming threats later. For now though, they could manage, however Angel wasn’t certain if Hazel could see clearly in this dusty fog.

Fortunately, someone was looking out for them. Brent’s voice came out from the phone, warning them of the coming danger. While the warning was much appreciated, it made the situation the more unnerving for Angel. Already, she could see the two remaining dogs taking position on opposite sides, flanking the support group.

“Angelic, can you all take on four of those giant things we heard?”

What? Internally, Angel was in disbelief over Brent’s question. Just what was he thinking? They had to hold their ground against the marching clockwork army. There was no way they could fight off four mammoth-sized machines on top of that. Hell, the young woman didn’t even know if her team packed enough firepower to take on one of those gargantuan beasts.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!” the raven-haired Aberration half-yelled to the phone, feeling the stress of managing multiple sides of the battlefield affecting her morale.

What the fuck should she do? Hearing out what Brent was telling Gregory over the radio, it seemed like the latter was in some kind of trouble; probably the giant elephant robots Brent just told her. Could she just abandon the guy at the back and focus on the front? Also, what should she be doing about what stood in front of her? Keep one flanking dog back and hope Siena could pulverize it with whatever name she took? Or try to blow away the smokescreen of dirt in front of them?

"Stay focused!" Callan’s words echoed back into Angélique’s mind.

One thing at a time. If she panicked and took the wrong decisions, it would most likely hurt her team more than it would hurt Factory’s minions. The charging dog would not leave much room for Angel to prepare though. She had to be quick and improvise as best as she can.

“Siena! On our left!” she called out to her partner just before rushing towards Hazel's position. Stopping by the other Aberration girl's side, Angel let out a forceful shout in front of them with the intent of blowing the dust obscuring their view ahead and the possible five metal hounds charging behind the smokescreen that Brent had warned them of just now.

She had blown glitters to nothingness from the sky before. How hard would it be to blow away a cloud made of dust?

Because I'm a forgetful idiot and omitted to tag @Baklava and @RedDusk.

Angel basically calling you guys out, see if the two are still alive. Not that I expect Sander to reply, but still, a mention is worth it.

Seeing the mechanical bird crash down to the earth and prevent it from flying off towards Christopher brought some confidence back into the screaming Aberration. Even if it was only a small deed, Angel felt relieved to know she could be at least of some use to her team, despite having told herself countless times how useless she would be in that fight. Spotting Ethan's two-fingered salute, Angel returned the greeting with a raised fist and half a smile.

Her grin turned into a frown however as her eyes caught the horror lurking from above Factory. The avians they were meant to deal with had left the area to rush towards the black-scaled Dragon that was Chris in his transformed state. Angelique would've tried to bring some more down, but they were already out of reach as she realized the appearance of the Dragon within the area. The Striker team was charging into the fray already so soon? Not even half of the clockworks had been taken care of, even less were actually focusing on the offensive support team.

And then, shit happened real fast. The mechanical snake Angel had been wondering about shot a laser beam towards the helicopter carrying her Striker classmates, tearing it apart and sending it crashing somewhere behind Factory. The sound of the impact was clear, but there was no explosion. At this sight, the jet-black haired young woman clasped a hand to her mouth, quivering slightly in shock at what just happened. Were they dead, or heavily injured? If the Strike Team had been taken out this early, then this mission was already doomed to fail.

But Angel clung on to hope. She'd seen firsthand the outstanding resilience of her two classmates before. Could it be possible for Sander and Callan to have survived that crash with their superhuman endurance? There was only one way to find out. Angel shifted her shotgun from one hand to another, leaving her now-free left hand to detach her radio phone from her belt and turned it on.

"Striker Team... are you there?" Angel's voice was leaking of concern, seemingly on the edge.

"I repeat... Callan, Sander, are you two alrig-... Ah shit!" the sonic Mage repeated, only to be interrupted as she took notice of the ten clockwork hounds charging her team.

Releasing the push-to-talk button, the fallen rockstar however kept her grip on the phone as she desperately held on to hope of hearing back from her classmates. As the dogs approached, a familiar feeling began creeping up to the surface of her mind; an emotion she had repressed throughout her life but had begun to let out quite often ever since she took the path of a Destroyer. It was hate and rage, pounding at the back of her mind and screaming for release.

If that asshole Factory dared to even kill, even injure one of her friends, then Angelique will make damn sure he gets what he sowed, even if it meant walking up to him and scream the metal frames encasing its body. The voices inside her head were starting to grow louder; the images of her dead friends seemed to become only clearer.

Already, the musician Aberration took a few steps forward towards the battlefield. She wouldn't advance to get in the other's way, but rather move a bit further from the group again to position herself and leave plenty of clear space in front and around of herself. If Emma's Devotion was indeed able to slow the mechanical hounds, then Angel would make sure those metal beasts never reach her allies and knock them back at a safe distance.

The screaming Mage let out a piercing and forceful long-lasting shriek. From the swaying grass, the dust and debris it kicked out in its path and even the echoing voice that was hinted with hatred, it was clear this shout was less controlled than the initial one Angel had let out. However, from her positioning and her relatively still stable mind, the path of the sonic wave was meant to hit only most of the artificial dogs, her teammates left unscathed from this attack unless one decided to move in during the few seconds of screaming Angel had indulged herself into.

"Evac Team; we're reading you, Angel." Marcus replied, his tone much more business-like than it usually was. "Adding to that list: if anybody sees any groups of civvies, ping it on the map if you can; we'll see what we can do. Like the woman says: be careful out there, you guys. Evac team over and out."

As the offensive support team reached the premises of the area that would be their battleground, Angélique was taken aback by the sight of the raging battle that was taking place before their eyes. Ethan and his team were already out there, fighting back to horde of clockwork creatures trying to get past them. The USARILN students were heavily outnumbered, but still held their ground by destroying the machines as they kept coming. But even for a short moment, Angel realized the stalemate this situation has become. They might have gained ground, but they were so close to Factory now that for each creature destroyed, the Mage abomination simply created replacements to defend him.

The sight terrorized Angel from deep within. If Ethan and his five other teammates put this much effort into keeping their grounds, just how will her own team fare? Watching them fighting, they truly fought like a team. On the opposite, the sonic Aberration barely fought with her teammates, let alone figure out how to work as a team. The thought of going out there, with all of their inexperience weighing in the balance, only to be slaughtered as they failed to maintain their positions scared the obsidian-haired Mage beyond words. Already, she could feel a nervous knot forming inside her throat.

She would however soon to snap out of it as, from the corner of her eyes, saw Hazel walking towards the battlefield on her own, heading for a giant pile of rubble, no doubt remains of a shattered home. A hesitant hand reached out to the collared girl in armor “Hazel… wait! What are you-“

Too late, the reckless X-marked took the initiative and began the assault, spraying massive bullets from her projected hands towards the masses of clockwork animals.

Silently, Angel clenched her teeth and swore repeatedly in her foreigner’s language. Initially, she wanted to reach the other team and ask Ethan for a quick debrief on the machines they were fighting. But it would appear that, with Hazel’s sudden assault, they would be hard-pressed to surround the girl and assure her safety while fighting the army of metallic monsters.

“Fuck! Get ready!” Angel called out to her team, about to make her way to Hazel’s side. But she stopped, turning to face Emma. “Emma, you sure you want to stay at the back? Those winged monsters could try picking on you if you isolate yourself, or those burrowing machines could get to you behind our backs.”

Emma didn’t know. The pressure, clearly, was getting to her. The wrong decision will kill us all. It could’ve been just like Flag and Seek, her entire team getting wiped because she hid in the back. Separation was dangerous for both parties in this situation, but… ”It’s fine! If I get in trouble my tulpas can come back quickly!” she was already second-guessing the words that came out of her mouth, but she reminded herself to stick to the plan. She was there to follow orders, she wasn’t a good planner. That was what was safest for everyone, right?

Emma snapped herself out of it. She had to back up Hazel. Determination, Devotion, and Love appeared alongside Angel and the others. ”Ready when you guys are!” she called from the back.

"Alright... just shout if there's anything, okay?" Angélique nodded to Emma before taking off running towards Hazel.

Once reaching the other Aberration, the sonic Mage shot up a scowl at the clockwork gang, the voices inside her head growing louder, telling her this whole plan was doomed to fail from her teammates' inability to stand together. She tried to deny them all, but the traits of her face and her facial expression slowly darkened to reflect her mood. For now, all she could do is prevent her teammates from getting harmed.

"You should've at least warned us you were going to attack, give us time to prepare." Angel apprehensively said to Hazel, her inner darkness leaking out as the situation did not helped to put neither her mind nor her stigma at ease. Her eyes however still kept staring at the horde of metallic animals, ready to shout at anything going towards them. Her right thumb reached for the safety switch, disengaging it as she gave the pump action a go, priming the shell inside.

Too much too soon. No time to prepare, not even a moment to think properly through her options. Siena swore under her breath--the opponents were sure to notice.

"D-damn it, this is hardly the time to..." So much for figuring out a decent series of options. She'd just have to work with what she had on hand, but the brunette could barely give any time to the thoughts as she tore a phone and a tablet from their place, only quick glances going between the two. Right, so no need for flashiness on her own part, she supposed. Hadn't she said that starting up would be plenty? And besides that, was that not just an explosion? Apparently friendly fire wasn't exactly the first thing on Hazel's mind.

She swiped through a series of titles with both hands--was her e-reader set? The emergency fallbacks were set away, but there was absolutely no way that Siena could control that beast either.

Too many things to process at once.

It took a moment for her to finally decide on what kind of power she wanted, but fortunately she came here well-prepared. Once her mind was set, it didn't take long for the brunette Arbiter to select the title of the book she wanted to borrow a name from. As she called the name out loud, it seemed as if the name came out from its source and came flying towards Siena's neck, printing itself at the back as purple magic circles glowed signaled her power being activated.

Satisfied with what she pulled, Siena ran towards her attacking crew, taking place by Angel's side just like they planned beforehand.

“This is Brent, in position. Angelic, looks like Hazel’s already begun the ass-kicking, but how ‘bout you play as our Joan of Arc and start things off with a proper warcry? Announce the debut of Experimental Group B and blow this terrifying atmosphere out of the skies!”

Brent’s voice came out from the phone hanging by Angélique’s belt. He always had the words to just uplift her spirit, whether unknowingly provocative or encouraging. The raven-haired sonic Mage simply grinned, feeling confidence rising up to the surface.

Yes, Brent was right! There was no point brooding deep inside and be afraid. If she wanted to be the voice of change, then it needed to start on this battlefield, by making a point. She will be blowing anything that stands in their path for survival; for change.

Side-stepping as to avoid getting the others an earful of her powers, Angel raised her head and let out a controlled scream, modulating her voice as to reduce the height of her blast while keeping it broad, hoping to knock a few avians machines out of the sky with a forceful shout without hitting her teammates. Judging from how far she was and her previous experiments with her power, she figured she’d only be able to reach for the nearest avian on the left.

Emma took a breath. A deep breath. She did her best to formulate a battle plan in her head, desperately trying to remember the strategies she had practiced. Her thoughts drifted briefly...

Holy crow, you're a summoner? Do you have any idea how awesomely rare that is?

You can't just end a list like that was 'And that's it'! Modest and badass, huh? You really are something.

Yeah, that sounds like the power that's going to win us the game.

Emma's our VIP.

Nothing but a disappointment.

She shook her head. She couldn't let her stigma get to her. Especially now, of all times, in the middle of a battle where people were relying on her. "Love, I want you to start pulling canines one by one towards you! Determination, stand next to Love and hit them once they come close enough! Devotion, any of the monsters start charging towards us I want you to slow them!" Emma's voice didn't sound very commanding, but it was loud enough that they heard.

Whether her orders were good enough remained to be seen.

Well, things are going just dandy so far. Teammate rushed in the moment they got there, so not a good omen to start with. Grant watched everyone run to support each other against the incoming enemy, so it seems the battle's start. His chains sprouted from behind his back and both made contact with the ground next to him, and pulled the very earth from the... earth.

A big chunk of ground hovered with his chains, pressure pushing down on him, yet still with somewhat fine control of his makeshift projectile, connected with both chains. He reeled the chunk back before he let it loose toward the direction of the various Metalworks that were on the ground.
