Actually the deal Fox, and Disney had was this. They both can have Scarlet witch and Quicksilver. Though Xmen cant mention Ultron, The Avengers, SHIELD. Avengers cant mention Magneto, Xmen, Sentinels and, Mutants. Its bull but what can you do. Now if they made Black Panther that can literally connect nearly all the marvel movies
Except just Marvel/Disney owns Black Panther...

I can't wait for Avengers 2, because it will have Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver helping the Avengers, and we get a hint that the worlds are the same, however, if XMen stayed its own and Sony just gave up making Spiderman Movies, we could have him join The Avengers…

Even before Disney bought them, Marvel did screw them over a bit with that house of m storyline which depowered most of the mutant population.

Disney bought Marvel yes, but they don't own the XMen…in fact read this:
