I'm not saying that fanplays is something bad, I run a couple myself, that's not what irks me. All I'm saying is that if rp A wants to use other peoples ideas, and think that they can somehow stop rp B from doing the same, aka-stealing-other-peoples-ideas-too, as if it somehow only THEN becomes a moral greyzone, then that sounds like a bad joke and I hope they're kidding. Their multiverse idea is no less or more original than the universes they're using to play in in the first place, so the hypocricy is what putting a bad taste in my mouth here. Nothing against the idea itself, just the thought that they have some sort of exclusive right to it when they're already breaking the greyzone themselves.
.. Let me see if I got this correctly. One rp creates a basic idea that takes the players into other worlds that are trademarked and calls it a fan-based creation, thus breaking copyright laws. They also allow for people to take avatars that are probably copyrighted by an artist, and creates a character based on it. (Yes it IS technically illegal, its just that no one cares, including the copyright owners such as Nintendo in case of a pokemon rp. They will probably not sue you, though technically they could. See the Berne convention.) ... But then, someone else comes around and makes a second rp based the very same idea, only to be hindered because... Of copyright. Because the 'original creator' of that rp (hint: they aren't, the real have been running on deviant art for much longer than five years just to name an example) don't want 'their concept' 'stolen'.

I hope I somehow misunderstood because otherwise this has to be the most hypocritical drama I've ever heard of during all my years of roleplaying. What the bloodied hell.

That being said, I might possibly join if this kicks off.
@masterphantasm: there will be an element of magic and some stuff like that, but this is the pokemon world, so most of the combat will be based on your mons. You're going to need at least one of the buggers with you.
I did something right, then XD hopefully this is not just be so corny you can't believe it, but so corny you can't believe it even after its finished. Its going to be so corny, your own brain will doubt it ever happened once were done.
I've wanted a 'silly epic fantasy' game for a while now, kinda like Roland the Barbarian where we take every stupid stereotype, amplify them a few times, and just mush them up together in a hilarious hotpot of "WTF is dis I don't even". And--- pokemon. Because why not? I'm thinking casual/high casual for this, because I don't really enjoy one-liners and people should know at that point how to help drive a story forward. Give the premise a quick read if you're interested:

"The high priestess of Arceus committed the ultimate betrayal. The age of Zygarde was coming to a close and the age of Arcticuno was once again drawing near, marking the dawn of a new millennium that would be passed down through the influences of the legendaries until the age of Zygarde once again ended and the process would repeat itself. All over the world, from the viking barbarians of Johtoheim to the ninjas of Sinnohbi, from the pointy-eared-hippies of Middle Hoenn to the regal politicians of the Kollussus Empire, people put down their weapons and their agendas in a rare window of peace. They prepared for the biggest celebration this side of a thousand years - but when the new age begun and the fireworks exploded on the skies above, the voices that had harbored only song and laughter turned to hysteric screams. Wild pokemon lost their senses and all their compassion, becoming mindless beasts attacking their captured companions and every human they came across. Thus the new Millennium was baptized in blood and slaughter, with these cursed pokemon becoming known as 'shadow pokemon' due to the dark aura around them that could be seen by psychics and aura readers. Shadow pokemon could be purified, but it was not an immediate process - and regardless of it, they would still become engulfed by the Shadow each time a new Age begun and the magic of the priestess was amplified.

The priestess - Alasenna - had stabbed a cursed blade into the very hearthstone of the Spear Pillar, severing Arceus bond to the mortal, physical world. Bereft of much of His power and almost even bereft of His life, Arceus escaped this dimension to stop Alasenna from absorbing the last bits of his power. But she was powerful enough - ruling over the power of the Elemental Plates and with all the non-legendary shadow pokemon under her semi-control, Alasenna had none who could oppose her. Now immortal and immensely powerful, she await the end of this new Millennium when her cursing of Arceus will be fulfilled, and the legendary will die. She can absorb his last bits of power then, and finally re-shape this very world to her her own desires and whims. A hundred and fifty years have passed since then, and the age of Moltres will enter the age of Mew in half a year from now. People prepare for yet another wave of shadow pokemon, no longer putting any hope in the Prophesy that promised them their saviors.

... but the time for the saviors have come. One night, as you sleep and dream, Arceus comes with you to awaken an ancient memory that you had forgotten long before your own birth..."
Wulfenheart pokes website with stick. Be it dead? No? Whoo hoo!

Hello there menlies and gentlewomen, I'm a long term roleplayer who have been going on and off the RP scene since I was a little kid playing with one-liners as magical wolves in enhanced forests where people were evil hunters and everything else was happiness and sunshine. Today, a ten-something-years-later, I have progressed away from that phase and moved on to more mature plays. I consider myself relatively good at this point, though I tend to stay clear of the truly advanced games. I enjoy political satire (and just satire in general) and can be found dabbling in fantasy, historical plays, parodies and the occasional fandom(most notably pokemon with whom I have this never ending love/hate relationship from which I will never be free :P )

Nice meetin' ya. Hopefully I'll be staying around.
