Caelyn did not notice the sheer size of the lizard creature until he was next to it and Caelyn truly lived up to his race by being so dwarfed. It did little to intimidate him though, as the man offered a kind extension of his hand to hoist him back on his feet. "Soothing words ye said there lad, I mean they were gentle and me stomach's a little better already. Don't ye be worrying about me warrior spirit, I can manage. I just didn't want to make ye feel bad for getting a wound yerself." Caelyn grinned and offered a sly wink. "Ah, and I like yer thinking about the drink. Good idea indeed. Plus I need to be givin' that Barden his pipe back. T'aint nice to be keepin' what isn't yers. Or so I'm told."
Speaking louder to try to encompass everyone's hearing that was involved in that fray, "You fellows sure have some stones, and I am likin' it! Used to havin' to watch me back for a knife coming into it rather than...." Caelyn cursed himself for the slip. He promised to let that life go, but old habits die hard.
Caelyn tried to hurry up to pace the giant lizard. "I didn't catch yer name, sir. If you told it to me I apologize for not hearing. I'd bow to ye, but.... you be knowin' why I can't." Caelyn laughed and it reminded him exactly as to why. He quickly caught his ribs with his hands like it would ease the pain.
This was the first time that Caelyn actually examined the inside of the building he soon realized. It was very intricately detailed on the woodwork. "To bad ye cant be carvin' stone like this." he said when he entered. As soon as he got in the overwhelming aroma of something delightful cooking. It was in that moment that Caelyn realized he could not remember the last time he had a home cooked meal. "I can't wait to be diggin' into whatever that smell is. My belly is rumbling louder than two dire bears in heat!"

"T'aint nothin' a good story and drink won't be fixin' me lad. But ye have me thanks all the same," and nodded a kind smile.
"Ah a pointy-ear, been a while since I've seen yer kind!" Caelyn pushed out through labored breaths. "Might I be getting some of that?" He pointed to the herbs in her hands. Caelyn was taken back by her long blond hair and found himself blushing a bit. "Bah, you fool thinkin' bout that right now." He shook his head. "How are ye fairin' their me .....boy? That canine got a nice chomp down on ye." With each sentence getting harder to muster out, Caelyn decided best to conserve his energy with a final thought. "Anyways you'll be having me thanks if ye could help me." And offered a solemn nod.
After walking through the square in search of answers, Altin overheard the crier shouting about gathering heroes. He thought it was just the type of thing to lure a paladin out. Altin's lips curled into a smirk at the irony. I am hunting a paladin to deliver him justice. He laughed aloud at the thought and quickly stopped. Best to keep my composure he thought.
Instead of going up to a recruiter and asking about it, Altin thought it best to go to the tavern and inquire around. Upon walking in, he looked around to survey the place and saw a few adventurers, and the barkeep throwing some kind of rant about an ugly piece of paper? He also spied the barmaid and decided it would be best to approach her in regards to this banner. "Excuse me, fair lady. But might I inquire about all this commotion and that piece of paper? What is all this in regards to?" He also asked if she knew a paladin matching the description of Monterro's slayer and the dwarf.
Caelyn surveyed the battlefield to see what could only be described as a circus of humanoids. "Argh! That mangy mutt got me good!" As he flashed Barden a grin. He slowly walked his way over to see the newest addition to this merry band. "Aye lass why are these following you exactly?" He's asked the new scaly companion.
After standing for a few moments, the adrenaline wore off and Caelyn realized that the claws got him a bit more than he had thought. "Aye lad, can ye help me to the bar for a drink? I need something to numb this a bit." After removing his hand from the wound his entire hand was drenched in blood. He got really light headed and went to a knee.
Name/Aliases: Altin D'erson
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Age: 28
Appearance:
Personality: Sneaky/only out for those that matter to him- usually himself/ annoyed by dwarves/ thinks humans are the superior race
History: Altin grew up Liaryn as a homeless pickpocket. He spent much of his teenage years squatting in shacks and shanty rundown buildings. He found a dagger on a corpse along with a sword that was cast out by the city guard. He self taught himself to train with sword and dagger, and one day when being chased by a dwarven merchant in the market place, he was cornered by the guard. After the scuffle, two guards laid sliced open and the dwarf without a hand. That's when he first met his mentor, Monterro D'Eltorn. "What if I could show you how to make your person drag like there are multiples of you? It will make you harder to hit, and trick your foes." Altin immediately agreed to being trained. He spent many years with Monterro, training and grinding, learning swordplay and illusion-magic. "You have a natural gift, Altin. One day, you will be even better than I. Few know how to use the Shadow magic, and fewer still can master it as you have thus far. You still have very far to go, its a process that will take decades before a significant mastery will come to you."

One night, Monterro and Altin were approached by a man in solid silver armor. "Monterro! I hear you have been teaching this urchin how to use Shadow magic! You know this is forbidden by the laws." stated the paladin. "I am teaching him how to survive this cruel hard world Marselez. YOU of all of us can relate to that! He was misunderstood with no family and no where to go, so I gave him a place. We both know what its like to have no families!" Monterro countered.
In a sudden flash both men drew steel, and the fight lasted a good 15 minutes. Monterro seemed to be Marselez's superior in combat. He did not shadowfight Marsalez and Altin thought it must have been out of respect for the paladin. "Click," a sound came from the rooftop and suddenly a bolt protruded from Monterro's chest. "NO!!!" a simultaneous shout came from Marselez and Altin. Marsalez whipped his head around and spotted the culprit. "I told you NOT to interfere unless I said so!" "Aye boss, but he was getting the best of you." exclaimed the stubby dwarf. "You fool, I will have your head!" Marselez responded. "Run!" Marselez shouted to Altin, after turning his blade to the dwarf.
Run is what Altin did, and was still doing for many years. Never knowing any kind of contempt. Until one day staring into a stream he saw himself, now 26 years old. "What am I doing?" Altin asked his reflection. "I know exactly what you are doing." a giant owl responded. "And before you ask, I am Tid, and the answer is running, you are hiding from your problems instead of facing them. But from today on you will not. Also, don't ask me how I know that, it is very annoying. I am here to tell you that I know the answer to all things. Starting today, you will seek these answers for your own truths." Then the giant owl simply flew away. "Wait! I have....." "I know questions." The beating of the wings blocked out anymore words that came from the owl. "He thought I was annoying!" Altin thought to himself.
So from that day on, Altin has been searching looking for his masters killers. He remembers that dwarf's face all too well and long with Marsalez's.

They are low level demons that hunt in packs. They are just good fodder to start out with in combat Challenges. Green ugly things lol.
After having their conversation interrupted by a leery shout Caelyn saw the human sprinting toward the woods. "Dragon, no that's a wee bit small for that." He thought. He saw something clinging to the things legs and drew his hatchets. Running as fast as his two legs would carry him, Caelyn decided that he needed to use his new addition to his arsenal. Upon reaching the scene Caelyn enacted the invisibility on the cloak and got around the ugly looking bastard and immediately came down with a crossing action and when he struck the creature, he re-appeared just in time for the beast to receive two powerful downward chops. It was a dance that Caelyn had performed many times. When finesse wasn't enough he looked up and saw his new friend beating up on the creature he could not be outdone. When it came to its senses it was met by two flying axes.....and a dwarf? Caelyn bull-rushed the thing and tackled it do the ground. Both axes scored a direct hit, and so did the things claws, catching Caelyn under his ribs. Caelyn just kept boring down through the pain until punch after punch it seemed to shake off, but Caelyns stubbornness proved more effective. Soon after it laid motionless, Caelyn noticed he was a bit weak and after trying to stand up, fell to a knee. "Bah be tough, you been through worse." His sheer will alone got him back up, and he after retrieving his axes he looked for more fray.
