My power is out. The website for the power company says it won't be restored until 11:30pm. If that's true, there will probably be no IC replies today.

Bio

My timezone is Eastern Standard, in case you need to know that sort of thing. I am very much a nerd, I like videogames and comic books. If you just want to chill and chat with me about videogames and comics, I'm totally down for that. I am more knowledgeable about the DC universe, when it comes to Marvel I know very little. My favorite Superhero is Superman and my favorite Batman villain is Mister Freeze, but I pretty much love all characters in the DC universe. As for video games, I usually stick in the range of anything with a good story. I've played the whole BioShock series, some of the Final Fantasys, both Portal games, all three of the Batman Arkham series and a whole bunch more. Right now I'm working on completing Persona 3 and 4, and Dragon Age Inquisition.

@Mae Yes relationships can be anything! They do not have to be healthy relationships either, they can be a very horrible obsessions or attachments.

And to Everyone, all of the rules have been typed up! I didn't go into complete depth with Conflicts, so some of that info is missing, because I figured I'd let you know a lot of that stuff anyway. If any of you have any questions about the rules, please let me know and I will do my best to explain it.
@Duthguy@rush99999I'm going to wait before actually getting the rp going, to see if others might be interested, but the OOC is up and has some of the rules for how to play. Here's a link to the thread https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/171608-monsters-and-other-childish-things/ooc
General Rules

If others are interested and would like to join in, please let me know, we still have an open slot available! For the character sheet, it is there for you to use, but if you decide on a better format for you, then feel free to do that. As for the actual explanations in the hiders, I wrote down as much as I think everyone would need, but if you have any questions or need clarification on something let me know. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Also, another nice resource in case my explanation is horrible, there is this little cheat sheet. I will be going into more detail than what's explained here, but it may help so here is that as well.

Campaign Introduction

Road trips. The quintessential American family vacation. Pile in the car with mom, dad and siblings, sing songs and play I Spy as you travel to some regional wonder, the park (theme or national), the lake, the beach, or distant family members. You might remember these as times of pure happiness, shining jewels of bliss in the treasure trove of your childhood memories. Or you might remember being bricked up by luggage, a backseat Amontillado, the doldrums of the vast lengths of highway you crossed, the tedium of being dragged to historical monuments that you couldn't care less about and the irritation of your parents who don't appreciate your lack of enthusiasm or the endless war of attrition between your siblings, trading each precious bit of patience and sanity in exchange for as much frustration and hurt feelings you could inflict on them. Is it coming back to you now? Sleeping with your face pressed against the car window? The hours of silence after everyone's run out of things to say? The lightheaded feeling when you first get out of the car?

This campaign is an homage to this most venerated of familial traditions. Only instead of trying to accurately simulate the road trip, the most existential of all vacation types, this will have monsters. Giddy, sanity rending monsters, eager to cut you open from your seatbelt strait jacket and free you from the slightly different kind of road trip. A long twisting odyssey through the murky subconscious of children's entertainment, both old and new. Talking animals plotting rebellion and mass executions in a quaint New England farm. A trip to the land of Oz to find a new ruler to unite the kingdom. Deluded heroes in matching spandex uniforms who fight villains conjured b their own dark emotions. A perfectly plastic theme park that offers everything except escape. Sprites that lure children to a parentless paradise where the dark beasts lurk and no one ever goes home. So, get packed and get some sleep. We're leaving at dawn.
Hey, guys!

So, I'm not sure if anyone knows of this table top, but it's really fun. I came across it recently and have introduced my real life D&D group to it. I love it a lot and am kind of obsessed and I thought it might be fun to do one online as well. So, I will say that nobody needs to know what this game actually is I will give everyone a quick overview of the rules if people are actually interested in doing this campaign.

To actually summerize what this table top is, it is a game where the players play as kids and these kids have monsters. The player will have complete control over the kid, but the monster will be controlled by both the GM and the player. It runs a little different from a D&D game. It uses a different rolling system, called the One-Roll Engine. For those that aren't familiar with the system it just uses a pool of d10s and it has you rolling for matched numbers rather than just high numbers. For those that want to know how the actual guide defines itself, I pasted a section from the book and it is in the spoiler below.

Now, that you know what the overall game is going to be like, I will now talk about what the campaign is. I'm going to start off with a pre made campaign. It's called Road Trip. Your characters will be going on a road trip to save the world from a cult that is trying to bring about the end of the world. If this goes well, I wouldn't mind making up my own campaigns and continuing with the group if that is something anyone wants to do.

For what I'm looking in a group, I'd like to keep it small, only 2-4 players will be accepted. If I get a higher interest, I can make exceptions, but that might mean those players won't play as a kid and will instead play as someone else's monster. I'd like people that can post once a week at least. If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to ask!
