Operation Briefing Room
Operational Facilities
Classification: Refitted Offshore Oil Platform. Designation-Scientific and Research
Personnel:
Total-130
Maintenance and rig crew-25
Phoenix Scientists-40
Stationed Military Personnel-45
Miscellaneous Personnel-20
Schematic:(If anyone could find a nice schematic of an Oil rig that'd be great. I couldn't find anything of use so basically it's as follows. Main deck and Oil drills in working order. Coastal side has the helipad and guard checkpoint. Atlantic side has the scientific facilities with the armory and crew quarters in the middle. Lower decks are for drill operations and contains water desalination and the main generators.)
Operational Orders: Act as base of operations for science personnel as they research the origins an possible cures for the outbreaks sweeping across the mainland. Currently secondary priority, operation will have command of a strike squad that will act as a protective detail for scientists and obtain samples for further investigation.
Current Status: Operational, fully self sufficient. All facilities in working order.
Overwatch:
With the new terrorist threats in the early 21st century the United States Government created a new program to deal with the threat. As part of Project Oversight, Overwatch is a manned orbital satellite system that was deployed in 2018. The orbital system rotates the earth providing surveillance and “Overwatch” for forces on the ground. Satellite imaging and extrapolation by trained tactical and strategic specialists; giving the troops an advantage and top information whilst in the field. Drawbacks include the 12 hours that the orbital system is out of range of the rig system. Mainland relays are down, damaged during bombings and the outbreak. Every five years the crew on board need resupply and every eight the crew is replaced by another. With the current destruction of the Oversight base in Texas and the severe lack of crew capable of using the orbital base in the next two years, the current crew will need to return home in a maximum of six months.
((more things will be added as we find them/activate them))
Standing Orders:
Eliminate or sample all specimen. Once the body enters shutdown humanity is lost. Research is being conducted to eliminate the further infection not to save those already turned. Execute and dispose or sample and return.

Infected: Infected, simply put the enemy. Operational orders stand as destroy or collect for research. Current common use term is Undead.
Walker or Shambler:
Common Undead. Slow, but dangerous. Though not uncommon to be found on their own, these creatures normally move in packs ranging from four to thirty. No special characteristics.
Runners:
Not uncommon. Fast, easily matching if not exceeding the speed of a normal human. Agile and deadly. Mainly seen in groups of 1-3 though it is not uncommon for a larger group to join a pack of Shamblers.
Screamers:
Uncommon if not rare. Normally move ahead of or away from large groups of the undead. Current theory is noise hurts them. When hunting or threatened Screamers let out horrible screeches, normally attracting any near by undead. Considered dangerous, kill on sight, but use caution.
Brutes:
Rare and extremely dangerous. The reason for viral behavior in these creatures is currently unknown. One does not have to be bitten by a brute to become one. Days after infection the body begins to shutdown, foregoing the normal progression. Once the body is "shutdown" the virus begins to recreate the muscle systems. By the end of the month the body is complete and the "Brute" awakens, with brand new muscles in places before. Unlike Shamblers and Runners, these creatures act with rage and hatred. They don't bite to feed or infect, they rip body's apart with their bare hands. Bestial rage is common in these creatures. Considered a threat to everyone. Engage with caution.
Stalkers:
Rare and Dangerous. More common in dense city streets or forests. Stalkers are small and agile, but extremely strong. Their hind legs have greatly increased muscle mass, giving them the ability to leap large distances. They have gecko like feet, allowing them to climb vertical or even horizontal surfaces. Very difficult to spot when they are stalking you. They make stalk their prey for days until they make their move. Currently the top priority for sampling because of their odd behavior an characteristics. These creatures do not decay without a source of food and they don't kill to eat. Their long incisors allow them to puncture though most body armor. They hunt to infect, rarely seen feeding. Moving in groups of three or four discourages attacks.
Spore Carriers:
Spore carriers reside under a different classification than the others. As far as our scientists can tell, the means of contamination is an airborne spore, though it is not uncommon for a Spore to bite a victim. Noticeable fungal growths on all victims. Standing orders are to kill then sample, the creatures are considered too dangerous to research. The fungal spores can contaminate a room without noticeable particles. All teams are equipped with the proper protection masks.
