Ziwa's father died some moons after.

His mother died shortly after she gave birth to him and his father cared little for his survival after the matter. Rook had to fend for himself since he was young. Often getting into fights with other animals for food. It was a wonder the cub managed to survive. Through all his hardships though came the confidence he needed to keep on going. Eventually the young lion ended up in the outlands where he joined Kikatili's pride. That is where he has stayed since.
