Flashing lights, roaring laughter, the steady drone of traffic accentuated only by the occasional honk of a horn. Donny slipped through the masses like a fish through water, coming close but never quite making physical contact. He weaved between lovers and stepped over drunken vagabonds. He was on-duty, tasked with finding some sore loser that had stabbed a casino owner's brother-in-law. He had left his phone number behind, having given it to a particularly attractive waitress. Certainly they could have called the cops instead, surely would have had the victim been a commoner. But no, family was in the hospital. They wanted the specialist, who would have no qualms about making the loser's last days on Earth as miserable as possible. A stint in the cage was too gentle.

Donny was returning to his vehicle, parked a good tenth of a mile from the casino. You don't shit where you eat. He paused suddenly, lead foot hovering over the trash adorned pavement. His sharp eyes narrowed upon something unusual across the street...

Given his monstrous appearance, which could only be diluted partially by a business suit, Mr. Rakkan didn't make a habit about traveling around in broad daylight where he could frighten people and cause a panic. However, he was called in to cover someone's shift at work, and did not own a car, so proceeded on foot through the crowded streets that dispersed around him. He was quick footed enough to make it on time that way normally, although today would mark the first time that he'd be late.

"Good day...good day, huh?...howdy!" He said to people with kind waves.

Although at first he didn't stand out too much, he noticed some guy across the street giving him an abnormal look as he continued onward. It wasn't fear for his life. It was something else. Rakkan quickened his pace, having a bad feeling about him.

Donny had, as of late, engaged in combat with a witch and a female alien. What the hell was this, the Dresden Files? Donny hoped not. He didn't like mysteries. Mysteries could be dangerous. There would be no supernatural bullshit happening under his radar, not on his turf. Let them have Detroit or Florida. Nobody cares about wierdos in those states.

Donny saw the freak notice him. He contemplated his options. Were it a human he was stalking he'd have the time to go and grab his van, but Donny wasn't sure about how easy it'd be to find these supernatural types. They were good at hiding from humanity, after all. Donny broke into a light run, skipping across the street in accordance with a volley of angry horns and screeching tires. Once on Rakken's side of the street, he began waving his left arm frantically and shouting at the top of his voice.

"Sah! Excuse muh Sah! Yuh dropped somethahn' back theyah!"

Donny'd elbow through a group of teenagers and clop right up to Mr. Rakken if allowed, still yelling over the city hubub that the alien had dropped something a ways back. Donny's expression was no longer betrayed by a suspicious squint. Now his eyes were wide and concerned, but he was averting them from Rakken's face as would any good natured Samaritan who didn't want to make a deformed man feel scrutinized. A good save to be sure.

If Rakken looked over to where Donny was gesturing with his left hand, he'd see something white, rumpled, and ovular lying on the pavement several yards back, a throng of people stepping over it with scarcely a mind.

The suspicious man hastily made his way over to Rakkan with an expression shifting from having suspicions of his own to concern. He couldn’t really blame him for looking at him the way he did, but he did wonder what would cause him to approach in this manner, disrupting traffic along the way. He allowed the man to draw near and speak, turning to face him.

Dropped something? That was odd. He didn’t have much to drop from his person without it being incredibly noticeable to him, such as his briefcase. Perhaps this man had mistaken someone else dropping something from within the crowd? In that case he could help find the real person in need of assistance. He followed the gesture to the object in question. Indeed it wasn’t familiar.

“Ah, I see that you’re mistaken,” he’d say if he was allowed the time, his attention moving back towards the man after glancing at the object for a brief second. “Let me help you search for whomever dropped it.”

Donny nodded and began turning back to glance at the object.

*BLAMMM*

His favorite attack, his way of saying "hello" to opposition. The revolver was drawn whilst the motion of his right elbow was concealed behind his body, the barrel smoothly darting up to align with the front of his bulletproof vest and firing through the overcoat that hid his many, many weapons, left flank facing Rakkan. For all intents and purposes, instant death to the unwary. Merely watching Donny with the naked eye wouldn't provide any hints as to when and where he'd fire. He aimed for where he figured the heart was.

Rakkan’s upper torso exploded with pain and back goo, resulting in panicked shrieks from the retreating bystanders and a snarl of his own. He could tell the damage was extensive enough to kill a normal man, but thanks to his biology he could still stand and fight for some time before collapsing into a near death state to start his recovery. Who was this guy and what did he ever do to him?! Perhaps this man was even planning on starting a shooting spree. He knew that he should try and use his remaining moments of consciousness to eliminate him as a threat and minimize the risk to bystanders.

With his left hand he reached out to try and snatch control of where the gun that shot him had to be while his right hand went for his throat with sharp claws. He didn’t want to kill him if he didn’t have to but he also didn’t want to risk the man getting off another shoot one way or another.

Donny completed his turning motion to try and lunge away from the alien as it reached for him, peering over his left shoulder. He'd twist to his left to get off another shot through his overcoat before Rakkan had taken his first step in pursuit, the coat serving to conceal his aim. This shot would fly for the alien's ankle if it tried to move after him, the idea being to blast the lead foot out from under the creature as it shifted its weight forwards so that it'd lose its balance and perhaps face-plant. If it tried catching itself with its hands, it'd find its right forearm exploding as another sneaky bullet was fired. If it made a falling grab for Donny, its hands would be in danger of exploding in quick succession as two rapid rounds were loosed. Oddly enough, it didn't seem like Donny wanted to stay and fight, or even try to get a headshot in. He seemed intent on sprinting through the panicked small crowd of people before him, even though there weren't nearly enough bodies to hide amongst. His features were alight with stark terror.

*But then again, considering the speed of the alien, Donny might not even get that far to begin with. If this were the case, Donny would have only enough time to shoot and disable the creature's right arm (aiming to blast the elbow) before his gun was grabbed. Donny'd wind up having his entire overcoat torn away along with his precious revolver as he continued his retreat. Most of the hitman's arsenal would be laid plain for all to see with his coat gone. Various grenades lined his belt, along with an array of sheaths, holsters, and bountiful other implements of murder and subterfuge.*

*To think, people considered Batman to be a prepared individual. Batman didn't have shit on this. At least there were no more guns.*

The man continued to turn in an effort to escape his reach, but he was inhumanly fast and larger than the average man, giving him considerable range. Rakkan didn’t need to take a step to close the gap that was forming, only lunge forward with his hands extended for his panicked prey.

BAM!

He wasn’t faster than the bullet, however, as a black goo trail spiraled out from his newly detached right hand and upper arm, which tumbled chaotically back towards the mortified crowd. He didn’t give time for the villain’s finger to twitch off another shot. His left hand made it to the barrel of the gun, which had to be extended out a bit to get the angle needed to shoot off his arm on the other side of his body. With a violent tug he tore it from his grip, shredding the coat in two in the process as the left half came with him. He tossed the gun, wrapped up in the coat, aside. In the meantime the man was able to get a head start on running from him now that Rakkan didn’t have his right hand to pin him down.

((Outcome of Donny loosing his gun agreed upon OOC))

Although with a gapping hole in his chest and a missing right hand, Rakkan was still able to fight, albeit at a more limited capacity. The man was running away now but it was possible he would still turn violent yet again, especially with all the weapons that were revealed on his person now that the coat was missing. He gave chase, keeping a sharp eye on the weapons and his opponent’s hands so he could be ready to dodge if his opponent grabbed for something while running. He couldn’t see if there was any more weapons attached to his front of his body, but it would be pretty obvious if the man stopped his normal running stride and began to reach for something on his body. He would run at full speed after him, which wouldn’t take him long to catch up, until he had cause for concern and would then quickly diver for cover before an attack could come at him.

Donny hadn't attacked Rakkan because he disliked supernatural beings. Donny wasn't a racist. He merely removed potential threats and did his job as best he could. He was an equal opportunity asshole. As soon as the gun left his hand, he had reached for another weapon as he ran. A switchblade flickered into his right hand, which in turn for the briefest of moments passed over the watch on his left wrist. Were Rakkan to have a keen enough eye, he'd see a strange black ring that had appeared on Donny's right thumb. These movements were as slick as oil, performed with well-practiced ease. At the peak of his head start, Donny lunged to the side and groped at the silky black hair of a fleeing woman on his left. She was young, tall but clumsy in her high heels. In a trice he'd have swung her around in front of himself as he skidded to a twisting stop, his right hand passing over her head. A faint glint in the air. Tiny beads of blood appearing on her neck. The switchblade would be aimed at her right carotid artery, and the razor wire hidden in his watch barely pressing against her windpipe. He could kill her in an instant. Even if Rakkan was forced to reign himself in right up against the woman, he'd not be likely to stop Donny from slicing her throat if he so chose.

Donny wasn't a racist. he had no preconceived notions about all strange creatures being ruthless. He had observed how Rakkan had been willing to help find a lost object for a stranger, how the alien had spoken in a dignified and educated manner. The freak was civilized, and if it was civilized, it probably valued the life of others. How much? It was time to find out.

"Stop yuhsahlf right they-uh friend, make a move closah an' she dead as uh Tallahassee whore. Naow back away slowly, abaowt several paces..."

If Rakkan obeyed and backed a fair distance away, then Donny would suddenly shove the woman towards him before turning full around to run again, this time with a potentially better start than before. The wire would still be around the young lady's neck. If Rakkan allowed her to stumble or fall in order to run down Donny, she'd certainly die. He'd have to choose to either catch his opponent, or save a life. Maybe both, if Rakkan was particularly quick and clever in how he went about his business.

Just as Rakkan had feared an innocent bystander was caught in the mess, becoming the villain’s hostage in the blink of an eye. He came to a halt as quickly as he could given his momentum so that he wouldn’t antagonize his foe in this delicate situation. Although he didn’t trust him, if he attacked now he was certain that the woman would die, so he did as instructed and backed away, hoping there was at least some hint of on honor system at play here.

Luckily this paid off as the woman was thrown from the man’s grasp. Rakkan rushed over to her with all the speed he could muster, snatching her up in his powerful yet gentle hands He checked to make sure she was okay, clipping away the wire with his sharp claws. In the meantime his blood was pouring all over her expensive looking blouse and shoes, but that was likely the least of her worries.

He didn’t feel like he could catch his opponent again, especially given how much of his vital fluid had drained from his body and how quickly he felt himself weakening as a result. That bullet must have been massive to do so much damage to him in only two shots. Who was that guy? Rakkan can only ponder why things had come to this as he collapsed to one knee after the villain disappeared from sight, feeling ready to black out at any moment. He could hear police sirens, or perhaps ambulances, approaching from off in the distance as his vision faded to black and he collapsed.

Donny was far from finished. He had planned for this outcome.

When Rakkan caught the woman, he'd feel like he had just poked his claws into an electrical socket. The current was so intense that were he to be subject to it, his muscles would sieze up and he'd be physically unable to let the woman go.

*The wire still trailed to Donny's watch. He'd abandoned the knife and whisked his high powered taser out of its holster, thrusting the terminals into the wire. Both the woman and the alien were in for a shocking surprise.*

Donny would slow to a stop four yards away, right next to where the white object was. He had dropped a tripwire concussion grenade wrapped in a hankerchief. Whilst Rakkan and the woman were likely juddering on the ground as 20,000,000 volts continuously shot through their bodies, Donny stomped his left heel down on the grenade's wire (trailing out of the hanky) and gave the grenade itself a hard boot towards his opponent, throwing himself to the ground away from them a moment later (letting the wire ring slip from his thumb as he did so for extra slack).

Concussion grenades aren't stun grenades. They are made to kill, to liquify an enemy's organs at close range.

Donny'd prop himself up on his elbows after leaping away from the small explosion, neatly poking a cigarette into the corner of his mouth.

-Click-

*He flicked open the top of his lighter. Twin gouts of smoke were expelled from his nostrils as he took a few seconds to enjoy the after-battle rush.*

As the two convulsed together in a lethal embrace, something quite unexpected happened. Rakkan’s sizzling blood splattered all over the girl, mingling with her own bloodied neck, splattering into her eyes, mouth, and nose; soaking inside her body…but it went deeper than that. The large amount of energy pulsing through her and the abnormal qualities of his blood made it fuse into her very being, altering her DNA and adding his own abilities onto her. Both Rakkan and the woman were no longer how they once were, but instead a new being would come out of this. The blinding pain she felt turned into an odd, indescribable sensation mere moments before the world around her erupted into darkness, splattering what remained of Rakkan all around like someone splashed a paint bucket of dark goo onto the pavement. His body no longer retained it’s shape as it did so, leaving only the woman’s broken form laying in this pool.

Nobody would assume that she was still alive upon seeing this sight, but she was still kept alive against all odds. From within her mushy remains began a healing process as her blood darkened like ink contaminated it and spread throughout her veins, somehow flowing without a heart to pump it. So began to birth of a new entity.
